1 Star - Felt Intimidated, Unsafe, and Disrespected My experience at Durango Bikes was extremely uncomfortable and concerning. When I returned to pick up my bike, I found myself in a situation where I was out numbered by 5-6 male staff members and no other customers in the store. As a customer simply trying to clarify billing and service issues, this felt overwhelming and intimidating rather than supportive or professional. During the interaction, a large dog was also allowed to come from the back working area into the front of the store. Given the already tense situation, this made me feel unsafe and added to my discomfort. This did not feel appropriate in a customer-facing environment, especially during a dispute. I also could not ignore the way I was treated throughout the interaction. I felt dismissed and not taken seriously when questioning charges and services that had not been completed. The overall tone and handling of the situation left me feeling disrespected and, frankly, discriminated against. At no point did anyone attempt to de-escalate the situation or offer reassurance. Instead, they lied repeatedly and told me I was incorrect, the environment felt hostile and unwelcoming. No customer should feel intimidated, unsafe, or unheard when simply trying to resolve a service issue. Based on this experience, I would not return or recommend. read more

I am a fan of supporting small businesses. Where they fail us is in clear transparency and communication. I dropped off my toddlers bike which was a hand me down in overall good shape. It required air and seat adjustment. It was a bit dusty and the training wheels had some small rocks in them. Overall is simple job and although I felt like 48.00 was a lot for this service, I left it at this shop. I picked up today and they added air and tightened it up as requested but did even bother passing a rag to wipe it down. I was told that's an additional charge and it doesn't need it. Now again, this is my first time at the bike shop and was considering to buy two adult bikes but they failed me at the first transaction. They could have been clear from the start and break down the cost and what it includes, but they also could have gone above and beyond to stand out. I wish them well, but I won't be recommending or purchasing anything from here again. I rather drive 17 miles to bird road and pay the same or a bit less and receive better service. I enjoyed my visit but was not into the Townie that they were pushing on me and everybody else who seem to walk in the store. They didn't have really nice colors. I wasn't going for the icy mint I took note of how close it was to home and decided when I found a bicycle I like to have it assembled at the shop. That was a huge mistake! they did a horrible job. They did not adjust it well. They called my new bike a copy of the Townie and insulted the seat. Then they tried to upsell me on one of their seats. They were paid by the company that sold me the bike. I don't see what was so wrong about that now they have lost a customer for good. The best in Broward!!! I've dealt with bike dealers and shops my entire life. I was afraid to approach this shop since I didn't buy these bikes from them... I was completely wrong!!! I've never been treated better anywhere. Eric said hello as soon as I walked in with random bikes and I explained the issues. (Both bikes were producing a clicking noise from the sprocket) Unfortunately, I ordered 2 "Framed" bicycles that were prebuilt online. (Not from Durango Bikes) Eric asked if he could ride one of the bicycles. I said yes, he immediately knew what was wrong. Both sprockets on the bikes were not put together correct. . Thankfully Eric diagnosed the problem and was able to fix these issues before my children caused a lot of damage to the bikes. Luckily I found this shop before I bought my mountain bike. Durango has the best prices in the area and cannot be beat! I'm looking forward to purchasing a custom mountain bike from Durango Bikes to ride with my children soon! I would highly recommend going to Durango Bikes and ask for Eric! If I could give 6 starts I would. Eric needs a raise and the staff and owner are absolutely amazing! I'm only giving it a 2 because they actually performed the service I paid for correctly. I'm an AVID bike rider. I ride about 20-30 miles daily and have even done 86 miles in a day. I only got one tube changed and the front tire straightened. It was barely wobbly and didn't even make contact with the front brakes. For those two simple tasks they charged a LOT. I used to live in Philly, which is a biking city, and went to shops all around town. I mention this because even the shady shops wouldn't have charged so much for that. But sadly that's just the beginning. The day I came in to drop off, a Thursday, I asked if they had a military discount and the guy said "not on services". (I served in the USMC.) Why not just say no? He also told me it wouldn't be ready until Monday but possibly Friday. I've had tubes explode/pop/leak on me many occasions and would walk my bike to whatever shop was close by -they always fixed it in 20-60 minutes. Same goes for truing (straightening). As I said before, in a bike heavy town where bike shops get way more business that in this area. Unfortunately, it doesn't end there. I called that Saturday and asked if they may have had it ready just in case. The guy who answered gave it a solid 3 minutes before confirming that it wasn't but if I got there in an hour, it should be. Come on, guys who are we trying to fool here? These shady tactics are why folks never trust mechanics. But it STILL doesn't end there. I walked to the shop since I live in the neighborhood and was not welcomed by the gentleman behind the counter. He was speaking Spanish to his coworker so when it was my turn he just looked at me and waited for me to say something. I said, "vine a recojer." And he was like huh? This happened three times then I said "I'm here to pick up." And his response was "oooh... to pick up..." which added "playing dumb" to the list of bad service. It was obvious and uncalled for. I'm polite/professional 24/7. He turned to a younger employee, told him to get my bike and immediately started acknowledging the customer behind me. They knew each other so his behavior changed immediately. Even when I was getting charged an arm and a leg, the kid barely said anything to me. I paid with my card and when the transaction was complete, I had to say something to make sure they even charged it. I asked if we were all set and he just nodded his head and I just walked away. It doesn't get any cornier, folks. It's a shame too because I live a short walk away. I'd much rather go elsewhere with my business. Don't let these reviews fool you, they are just indifferent salesmen who most likely hate their career choices and just want to exploit folks in this area who have good incomes. I hate writing negative reviews but I was so let down from the entire experience that I took the time to make a genuine testimony of Durango. When my son saw his bike today he exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, it looks great Mami. I really, really love it! I need to go ride my bike now! Thanks, Erik!" I purchased my son's Trek during the pandemic second hand from a private seller. Then one day the front tire ripped. Call in Durango Bikes and Erik to the rescue. They replaced the tire, did a tune up, and notified me via text when they discovered the right hand shifter was broken. I would not have to pay for labor but only for the replacement part. They texted me for pick up. At pick up, Erik took the time to show me the old part and explain how rusted out the cables were and how they were preventing the bike from changing gears. They cleaned the bike up and now it looks brand new. Count us as another extremely satisfied and loyal customers moving forward. Excellent service and the staff is very friendly. I went to purchase road cycling shoes and they did have my size at the right price. I called almost all of the bike stores in this area and this was the only one that had my size at the right price. They didn't have a huge selection and had even less options for women; however, they didn't try to force my wife to buy shoes that she wasn't comfortable with. Superb knowledge, quality care and exceptional service. I can't say enough about Durango Bikes. I recently purchased a mountain bike on eBay and attempted to assemble it myself. After hours of frustration I turned to my trusty Yelp application and look for the nearest bike shop in the area. Now I'm familiar with well known Bike Shops in town but i didn't want to take a 30min to an hour drive so i wanted something local and of quality. Score!!! What a gem! Upon arrival I was greeted by Eric who I explained my frustrations over my attempt to assemble and gave him a quick breakdown of where I ran into complications and what I wanted. He quoted me a fair rate and gave me a quick but detailed rundown of what their service included and what he would do to bring the bike to ride and performance quality and standards. I also gave them the green light if they run into any issues along the way to proceed with repairs, however he mentioned the shop calls for authorization either way. Which is great because you don't want to come back with a hefty bill and a sticker shock. During the process, one of the technicians Willy, consistently kept me informed and as Eric promised, they called me to requested permission to change a hub and brake pads. In less than 24 hours my bike was ready. I was greeted again by Willy who assisted me with the correct calibration of the suspension based on my height and weight. Eric also gave me a detailed breakdown of some of the work he did on my XTR derailleur. I highly recommend this shop to any bike enthusiast, not only do they perform quality maintenance and repairs but they also have a store with biking apparel, nutriments and accessories. Really great shop. I brought in my 20 year Cannondale because the inner tube was torn. They were willing to repair it on the spot, and then when they saw my back tire was out of true, recommended a tune up. They even deducted the cost of the front tire repair. So we have been shopping for a set of bikes for about three months. We are novice riders looking for good quality, durable bikes that will get the job done, but also won't break the bank. We came across Durango Bikes while watching a movie at Regal. We read through some of the reviews and because we had already visited many other bike shops recently and not had a good experience, we figured the reviews were probably just like all the others - basically those that are pro riders are going to love it...and those who are just the casual rider are not. We walked in the shop and noticed a few bikes that were well above our budget. However, we were immediately greeted by Miguel, and to our surprise, he was WAY different than any of the other folks we had come across in the many other bike shops we had visited. We did not feel intimidated by him at all and felt very comfortable and at ease. He asked questions, which told us that he cared about our specific situation and not just selling a bike. We, being the inexperienced folks that we are, we asked (well, I asked) very 'stupid' questions, but he had a sincere answer to all and I never felt ridiculed. He helped us figure out what set of bikes could be best suited for us and never once pressured us into buying anything. That day we happened to have been in a rush, but today we stopped by again and Miguel was no different! He immediately helped us, showed us around, let us test a few bikes, fit them properly to our frame, and gave us a great deal! Spectacular local bike shop with impeccable service! Miguel and the other gentleman servicing bikes were highly knowledgeable and non-condescending to this novice bike rider. I Came in to change a tire on my husbands bike and air on my tire, but got much more out of my visit. Miguel told us about different bike trails for beginners and helped me understand the best way to enjoy my ride in 10 minutes. He took me outside to watch me ride, explained to me where my seat should be, and gave me some pointers. Simply fantastic! In addition, since my husband and I bought our bikes at a department store, they showed us different options when we are ready to upgrade (not pushing us to buy, but showing us how they compare). Went to Durango Bikes at 10am, when they opened, expecting to have, and pay for, my sons bike to be rebuilt. They inspected my sons bike and informed me that it was unnecessary, and not worth it financially to rebuild his bike. They make a few adjustments and monitored the tires through the day to make sure there wasn't a slow leak. I was able to pick the bike up later that evening, good as new, without unnecessarily braking my pockets. Went in there to look for a bike for my kid. After telling me they had nothing in stock but would show me some options the guy proceeded to stare at his computer and give half answers. It was embarrassing enough that his wife/girlfriend/business partner nudged him about us waiting. At the bare minimum he could have stood up and said "I'm wrapping up with X, be with you in five minutes". Extremely poor service. Maybe if I were in there asking about a 2500 dollar road bike instead of a kids bike? Waste of time. read more

My go to shop for all repairs, tune ups, parts and installation. Erik is a master mechanic - he's very meticulous (to the point of almost being obsessive), ensuring that the bike functions at the highest level possible. The shop also carries a very nice selection of brands including Pinarello, Focus, & Fuji - literally a selection that runs the gamut from $500 starter to $12,000 super bikes. Sales staff is knowledgable and will not attempt to up-sell you, but simply wants to find the right bike that fits your needs. I've bought literally dozens of bikes in the last 10 years or so and have found Durango to be one of my favorite shops in So FL. read more

Awful. I was looking for a simple repair, I over loosened the tension on my clipless pedals. The bolt that was screwed into the bracket came off. I just need them to put it back. Obviously I didn't have the tool needed. First question, did you buy them here. I knew that was coming, the answer is no but I was wondering how much they would charge. Takes it back to his guy, who looks at it for two seconds.. doesn't even try. Then I hear them speak Spanish to one another saying that because if we don't fix it they'll speak bad about us.
