Took my Specialized bike in for service. The staff is friendly and professional. Matt the mechanic explained all the issues with the bike that needed attention. He gave me an itemized list and cost to repair each item. I told him that I could not afford to fix every item at the time. We agreed for now to only repair the front derailleur; it now works great. I'm a charter customer and they are the best of the best I bought all my Cannondales there starting with the first store.

I bought a pair of shoes but every time I use them they get loose and unadjusted. I have to re-adjust them and then when I use them the same problem. I have gone back several times and they re-adjust them and say they are loose. I tell them that it happens every time I use them. The last time I went they told me that whoever adjusted them did not do it tight enough. I told them that they were the ones that adjusted them. I needed up going to another place and just buying new shoes. Never going back to that place! read more

I had an issue with my bike. Brought it in to see what was wrong with it. For a moment I thought I had to leave my bike there for the weekend. However after waiting a while to be checked what's wrong they where able to repair it about 30 minutes. Note if you sign up for a membership you'll get 10% off on service repair and accessories. These guys are so nice and accommodating. My brother went bike shopping and another establishment treated him like garbage. As soon as we walked into Bike Tech we were greeted (with smiles), taken care of immediately, & they weren't pushy at all. The guy that helped out my brother really took the time to let him know his preferences of what he though was best and gave him some personal recommendations on accessories for the purchase. He was honest, kind & most importantly he wasn't pushy or forceful for the bike purchase. We ended up fixing up an old bike here... I wish I took a before picture but what a difference! Another flat, another visit to Bike Tech. Last weekend I was riding along and suddenly heard glass crunch under my tires. Never a good thing! Sure enough, within a block, I felt a "thud, thud, thud" when peddling along - The rear tire on my bike had gone flat. Also, a few weeks ago I was riding in the rain and had to coast down a bridge while riding my back brake. Ever since, that brake has been a bit soft and needed adjustment. I came here to Bike Tech, they took me right away, and were thorough in their work...After removing my old tube and finding the leak, they checked the tire to ensure it didn't need to be replaced and that there were no more objects in the tire that might puncture the new replacement tube they were installing. After installing the new tube and reinstalling the tire, they also checked the wheel to ensure it was still true. While they were at it, I also asked them to adjust the brakes. In all, their service took about 20 to 25 minutes. Total cost was $32.49; $7 for the new tube, $10 for the installation, and $15 to adjust the brake. I thought the first two charges were fair, but considering one only needs to loosen a bolt, slide a bit of cable through and re-tighten in order to adjust the brake, next time I'll save the $15 and do it myself, especially since it only takes about 30 seconds to do. read more

I bought a Cannondale tri-bike here in July. I specifically asked for durable road tires as I ride roads. On the THIRD ride on the new bike I got a flat on the front tire. So much for durable tires. I have to bring it on for service and probably have to spend more money on new tires. Not happy. read more

In the spirit of fairness, I didn't want to keep my dismal experience from giving this place another opportunity, there is something to say about a place that has been in business for so long, actively participates, promotes and sponsors local cycling and multisport events and provides a needed service to the cycling community. Since my poor experience, I have returned, several times for several reasons, some mechanical, some shopping needs and some just to kill some time and browse around the store. These guys definitely know what they are doing, so there is no doubt my mechanical issue will get resolved. Service is usually good and their inventory and selection is very complete. read more

This bike shop is getting 5 stars for Excellent customer service. During my visit yesterday I was approached by the manager (I think his name is Jorge). He greeted me with a smile upon entering. He immediately approached me and offered assistance. We spoke about bicycles I've owned in the past and about bicycles he's owned and tested. He's a real friendly employee and all bike shops in Miami should have employees like him. The shop is clean and organized (it was my first visit). I'm really impressed with their selection and the variety of bikes they have for all kinds of crowds/preferences. I highly recommend this Bike Tech on Coral Way. I will begin by saying that Bike Tech on Coral Way is simply the best. I called all over South Florida looking for a bike shop that would build my bike within a few days and all I got was 1 to 2 week quotes everywhere. When I got to bike tech, they told me they would have it done in 24 hours and extremely friendly! I went home, ate some food and got a call only a few hours later!!!!! They sent me a text with my bike all done, seemed one of the tech's had a little extra time and wanted to see my bike complete. I also told them I was extremely excited to start riding my new bike, maybe that helped, haha; but point is, my bike, which had been quoted 1-2 weeks to build at every bike shop from miami to fort lauderdale was done in 3 hours. I mean, this is just customer service at its finest. The build was great, the people were great, and their bike shop is grade A, with all the bells and whistles, very knowledgeable set of guys too. I purchased a $14,000 Sagan Venge from this Bike Tech location 8 months ago. About a month in, I noticed my handlebar had a crack in it! I called up Frank and he started the warranty process. Turns out the handlebars were sold out and I needed to wait for​ 1-2months. Then, Frank left and Gio took over the case. I reached out to Gio many times for updates and got the same thing each time - that they are sold out, etc! Then I reached out to Specialized about the claim and they told me all has been approved and I should have one within a week. That week turned into months! They are not on top of it and only take action when I call them. I've been waiting for​ 7 MONTHS NOW!!! And was told I need to wait another 4 MONTHS!! Their customer service is horrible and once you purchase the bike, they can care less about taking care of your needs!!! Do yourself a favorite and get your bike elsewhere! read more

I called Bike Tech to see if I could purchase a bike from them and have it sent to me in another state. Mr Rodriguez was very pleasant on the phone and reassuring. He talked me through the process including selecting the $90 shipping on their website. When I went to buy the bike I asked questions including who they use to ship the bike, what happens in the event a bike is damaged during shipment, and if insurance was included in the $90 shipping charge to cover the full price of the bike . I also asked if pictures could be taken of the packed bike and emailed to me since that would be required for a claim to be filed if needed. I was asked for my email and told a manager would email me to answer my questions and give me more info on the process. I received an email hours later from Gio stating shipping would be $250 and if it did not cost that much I would be reimbursed the difference. No other questions were answered. I also noticed the $90 price for shipping listed on the website was changed to a higher price. This company is not transparent or straightforward with pricing or answering questions. I did not buy the bike from them but went with another company who answered all my questions quickly, charged $50 to ship next day with insurance coverage for the full price of the bike, sent me a receipt immediately , and the whole transaction took no more than 10 minutes. So glad I did not take the chance with Bike Tech! read more

I bought crankset pedals at Bike Tech and after 2 months of use they broke, I went to them asking about the warranty and the answer was that it only applies with the factory and to use it you have to pay a $20 fee. Bike Tech is better than eHarmony and Match.com because Juan Carlos, its manager, helped me finally find true love in my shiny new Cannondale road bike. I hope my boss doesn't read this because I have to confess that I probably spent more hours at Bike Tech in one week than I did at the office. The first time I went there I was pretty clueless about what I wanted. Juan Carlos patiently listened to what I wanted in a bike and offered me a few options in my budget. Sensing my doubt, he urged me to go home and do some research and think about it. I checked out other bike shops and did some research. I even emailed and called Juan Carlos a few times. When I finally made my decision, all the guys in the shop seemed genuinely excited for me and were very helpful. As a woman, I appreciated that none of the guys were condescending and all were willing to spend the time that I needed with them. Bike Tech offers the VeloSport membership for $35 which allows you to receive 10% off bikes and 15% off accessories (like pedals, helmets, shoees and apparel). They carry Cannondale, Specialized and Cervelo bikes. Also, you can rent a bike for $100/first day and $20 each additional day in case you need a tri bike for that triathalon or trying to choose a bike. Bike Tech on Coral Way is an excellent mid-to-high-end bicycle store. This is the place to find the Litespeed, Kuota, Cervelo, and extreme high-end Cannondale and Specialized bicycles and framesets that you've gazed at with envy during your Key Biscayne rides. Those people who pass you wearing the jerseys and shorts emblazoned with BIKE TECH in old-western font, they shop here. Those people also have single-digit body-fat percentages, beautiful spouses, and "muscles glistening with embrocation" (thanks Bike Snob NYC). But no seriously, Bike Tech is a truly excellent shop with a great, helpful, knowledgable staff, relatively efficient service department, nearly unparalleled selection of road and tri bicycles. If you want to get started in cycling with a sizable financial commitment, or if you just need a new pair of spinning shoes, this is the place to come. FG people: Yas here knows his stuff inside out. There's not a huge selection of things for us, but Bike Tech can get nearly anything you'd need, including Velocity (yes, they have an account) or new-stock NJS/Keirin/track gear. Very good wheelbuilder on staff as well; he's trued more wheels for me than I care to recall. Related note: the Bird Road location is a little larger and has more midrange and mountain-related bicycles and gear. Since moving to Miami from Ft. Lauderdale last year I have been relying on Bike Tech on Coral Way to do all the general maintenance for my road bike. Their customer service and the quality of their work is top notch. Tomas is always super helpful and friendly. I have arrived at the shop 15 or 20 minutes before their opening to drop my bike off and someone is always there to help me. During the holiday break I needed my bike boxed urgently to take on vacation and the shop packed it perfectly the same day. I Sadly disappointed, my cervelo bicycle was shipped and packaged by the BIKE SHOP from Miami to Chicago.The bicycle was taken to the shop without damage in excellent condition. The bicycle was received totally damaged and not usable as confirmed by the receiving facility as confirmed by the shop who specializes in this brand of bicycles. The functional stability and safety was altered due to the damage incurred that the faulty packaging of the bicycle. Many parts were damaged as well as the structural basis of the bicycle. Many pictures were taken on the damaged bicycle on arrival to Chicago. Despite multiple requests to the BICYCLE SHOP, all were met with resistance. Not all damaged parts were replaced, since they were bent , they were just molded back to their pre damaged state. A request was made to ask for a professional assessment of the status of the bike, this was never done or received by me. Thinks like pedal, odometer and especially the gear changer we're never replaced. The damaged bike was superficiality painted to make it look good. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism or commercial ethics realized by the BIKE SHOP on my bicycle. After many of fruitless attempts my me by sending pictures, e mails and telephone conversations, there has never been an attempt to dutiful correct the damage and express an apology, for the damage incurred on my bicycle which was sent from their shop in Miami to my home in Chicago. My bicycle was severely damaged in transport por inappropriate packaging it when being transported. Most of the damages incurred could have been avoided by just doing it correctly at the time of being sent. The packaging and transportation fees were paid in good faith. The obligations of the BIKE SHOP were never carried out. It is truly a shame for this type of facility who prides itself on professionalism and service to demonstrate such poor concern quality and service satisfaction. I am truly disappointed by their service and feel that my bicycle was severely damaged by their lack of professionalism. Many pictures were submitted to document the damage and yet were ignored. I dropped in to Bike Tech after discovering the new Mountain Bike Trail at Virginia Key. I needed some extra gear for my Mountain Bike including an extra guest helmet. Wow, a very nice, spacious store with a large inventory. They carry both Cannondale and Specialized, two of my favorite cycling brands. I have not upgraded my Biking gear in some time and you could spend a long time in this store checking out their gear. They offer a shopping club discount annual membership ($35) that might be worth it if you are going to buy a new bike. read more

I often say, all Bike Tech in Coral Way needs is a bar in the store, and I would be in heaven. Since day one, I can only say good things about my experience there. The staff has only had smiles for me when I come in. And it's not because of I am spending money there, compared to others that are shopping there, I am spending pennies. Juan Carlos, Luis, Yas and James never make me feel dumb about my lack of cycling knowledge, and never pressured me to buy anything. I was referred to James by Andy Clark from Alien Endurance. I trust Andy and Andy trust James. All the repeat clients I have meet in the store, feel the same. James always gives me choices and makes it a point to tell me that he was not selling me anything but giving me options and that I have to pick. I am now a proud owner of my first road bike (Cannondale) and am very happy. As a wise man told me. "It's a high end shop. There are cheap bikes and accessories just like there are cheap shoes. Some people shop at Merrick Park for shoes and others at the flea market. That's ok, but Bike Tech is not the flea market." Do some research and have a budget. Don't thinking you know everything and don't think everyone is on earth to serve you. All I can say is have a good attitude when you go to any store and people will treat you good.
