I ended up at this shop due to a social media posting of a bike demo / ride being offered. Im in the market for a road/tri bike so I was attracted to the advertisement and send an email to register to participate. They have a sister store in Aventura which I have been to, so Im somewhat familiar with the brands they carry and the top quality bikes they have. Im a noob in the road bike / cycling scene, even though I have been training and riding my MTB on the road. I have seen packs of cyclists riding in the street and always wanted to try it, so again I felt this would be a good opportunity to test drive a bike and compare my experiences to a real road bike. Driving down at 6:30, with my crappy pedals, non-worthy clothes, no helmet, sneakers, I was a little concerned to say the least, with my lack of proper equipment. We caught some traffic but made it on time. I went in and introduced myself and was quickly setup on quite the impressive bicycle. They measured me, adjusted the bike, installed my pedals, ensured there was proper tire pressure and even leant me a helmet. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. They really took care of me, a relative nobody to them, demo'ing what I found out was a $15k beautiful beast of a bike and really made me feel welcomed. The ~30 mile ride from Brickell to Key Biscayne (and back) was awesome. It was slighly drizzling when we left and again once we hit Brickell on the way back, but everywhere in between was perfect. I did get to feel what it was like to ride in a pack for a while and also by myself, the best of both worlds. Once we returned to the shop, there was a full spread of breakfast, which was really awesome of them to provide. They really made what started out as a rainy day a perfect day. To the staff at City Bikes, both Midtown and Aventura, thanks for helping me get registered to this event and for your gracious hospitality. All the recommendations for a new bike and assitance on the ride really was appreciated. Truly a world class shop. The best bikes in the industry. So I go into City Bikes. It's clean, the people are friendly, the prices a little higher than I imagined. I told a worker that I needed an inter-tube. He took my wheel that I brought to make sure I buy the right size. (I had already bought a tube and the guy at another bike store gave me the wrong one.) So the worker grabs a new tube and immediately takes out the other one. I didn't think anything of it. It looked like he was going to replace it free of charge, so I gave him a hefty tip for such good service. Then when I went to the counter to pay I saw that I was charged 20 dollars for the maintenance fee, which the mechanic never mentioned. So just watch out for that, fellow consumer. Also, the cashier just said,"Oh they don't usually charged that much for that." And he took off 10 dollars. I felt like I was properly attended to. But later I felt like they just grifted me 10 dollars. So, just watch them, otherwise it's a great bike shop. Entonces entro en City Bikes. I left my bike 15 days ago in the store asking for a rear tire and brake pads to be replaced. 15 days I was waiting for them to do that and all I got in return is the bike in the same condition as I left it. Explanation was that I never told them I want brake pads to be ordered from New York which I can accept as miscommunication but what's the point of leaving bike in the store for more than two weeks if I don't want specific part to be ordered?! They haven't even changed the tire. Instead of having my bike ready in few days (I understand delays because of covid) I had to use Uber as my transportation which costed me around $350 so far. This wasn't my first repair in that store but it's definitely the last. Extremely unprofessional. read more

I've stopped in twice and have had great experiences both times. The 1st time was to check out bikes - the staff is great and guides you through different types and even allows you to test ride just outside of the store. The 2nd time was yesterday when we stopped in for studio cycling shoes. The team at iRun (where I buy my cross training and running shoes) recommended this location for cycling shoes. Arnaldo was fantastic - he gave a quick overview of my options and got me in a pair that were great. He gave me a second pair to compare to and highlighted the differences between the two models. My bike was sitting there and apparently had been tuned up but no one thought to call. They also don't clean your bike which led me to believe that they didn't service it. I foolishly went back when my electric bike wasn't working and they said they couldn't work on it. These guys don't give a shit so why would you bring your business there. read more

I have an old Schwinn cruiser bike, and the one brake that works stopped working. "Why? It was just working and now it's not." I thought to myself. I just moved and got a new job and am budgeting everything out, and $50 for a tune up I did not have. I had to take the L and just deal with the fact I needed my bike and thus had to manage paying for the repair. I went up there and told them my situation and asked "Is there any chance I dont have to pay for the whole tuneup when its just the handle and brake mechanism not working?" The guy (sorry man I forgot your name!) said "Nah, it'll be like $15 if the screw is stripped on the handle like you say." Sweet! I go the next day and the dude I talked to the day before wasn't there, but 5 guys were working in the repair area and I told them everything that transpired the day before, and they asked to look at it. One guy walks up, sees the tensioner pin was out of its hinge on the frame and just, "bloop", put it back in place. I said, "Wow. Well sorry for wasting your guys' time, what do I owe you?" They laughed and said "Nothing, you're good." I said, "No, I have to pay you guys somehow, I'll write a Yelp review." So there you go! I'm keeping my word because I value being honorable and doing whats right; two things exhibited by the team at City Bikes. You guys are the real deal. They also put air in my front tire. read more

Unfortunately, the store manager is such a disaster that, even though it's right next to my house, I will never ever go back as long as he is working there. I decided to upgrade last year and bought a new Santa Cruz at City Bikes. I used to buy bikes at a shop up on 163rd Street, and was ready to pull the trigger on a Specialized but was ignored. I left. I'm glad I did and things could not have worked out better. Great price and set up on the new bike. I've driven by City Bikes on BB/29th Street a million times and never thought to stop by. I gave them a chance and they are now the only bike shop I'd go to, barring an emergency. I just blew another spoke, decided to get a tune up and look at my brakes. Done in one day. I stopped at another shop for an emergency and they had my bike three days and did virtually nothing. I am terrible with names, but the staff is welcoming and friendly, the mechanics are top notch, and they have or will get whatever I need. Super awesome! I have gone here a couple of times before for a tune-up (got my bike like new!) and for a popped inner tube, and have always received great service. Today, I came in because the bolt came out of my crankshaft, and the staff took it right away, threw a new bolt on it while I was waiting, aired up my tires and greased my chain-- all in less than 10 minutes. First off just want to say never buy a bike here it's so over priced do your homework!!! Second called to fix my rotor because it was bent they said bring it in early that way the bike has a chance to be done before we close. So I bring the bike 45min after the phone conversation. When I get to the shop I can see that a local bike shop we was getting his bike fixed on the spot and I thought wow I'm going to get fast service. Lol well I was wrong fast derives is for friends and family only I guess. I am now going on 3 days and have to wait out a Sunday to fix a bent disc which can also just be replaced because I gave them the permission if it was going to be faster. We'll see if it will even be ready on Monday morning but I can put money that it will take a while other business day. Typical Miami!!! If your willing to put up with it come here.
