We went for the animal expo. Featured this Time was reptiles. So much to see under one roof. $5 to get in and kids under 10 are free. Kids had such a great time looking at the lizards and snakes. Even bunnies, chickens, hedge hogs, spiders, puppies and kittens. Yep feel in love with a kitten and brought it home with us

    It's a bewitching event!

Came for Zurko Promotion's Haunted Flea Market. It was AWESOME! There were so many great affordable retro items for sale. If I had the money and a man cave, I could have spent a boat load of money. Can't wait to go to next months All Night Flea Market.

I've only been here once (for a Garden Bros Circus.) The circus itself was standard and what you've come to expect. The fairgrounds itself I only really saw the parking lot (gravel and grass) and the main building where they had the circus. The parking was free for the event I was at and was right next to the main building. For the circus they had I think six aluminum bleachers about 5-6 rows high on the perimeter and then prime folding chair seating next to the ring. The bathrooms were a little scary but the rest of the building was a good size and in good shape. There was popcorn everywhere and a little poo by the ponies but I expect that was due to the children and ponies... and the circus in general. Outside of that I have no idea how big the fairgrounds are but it looked like a pretty decent/cool place.

I came out here to attend the Dupage County Comic Con, so most of my opinion of this facility is based upon that. The building that housed the conference sort of reminded me of a middle school gym from the 1950's. It was in fairly desperate need of a coat of paint and some TLC. It was completely functional, just borderline dilapidated. After looking around some of the rest of the grounds, it was not difficult to see why certain building have been neglected. Directly across the grounds is what appears to be an entirely brand new building and an adjacent parking garage. It does not look more than a few years old, so I am guessing that accounts for 95% of the taxpayers spend on the grounds for the foreseeable future. Also, as I was driving around the grounds just to check things out, there was a small facility dedicated to equestrian folks, as well as various stalls for livestock, trailers, etc. I will be curious to see some other events that might be hosted on the grounds, particularly in the new building. It appears to be large enough to host everything from very large trade shows to national recording acts on tour.

she's getting so tall. and now i know how big she is.

Parking was a little challenging during my late April visit with all the beautiful flowers in bloom, but it was well worth parking a few blocks away and walking over for the experience. Scattered throughout the park are plenty of benches, a scenic lookout area, iron deer statue, and more. A stroll around the park is super relaxing here since you're surrounded by plenty of colors and pleasant aromas. Definitely a must visit for any tulip or lilac lover. Worth a special trip due to the quality of the park and the beautiful views.

I probably should come here more often, but I make sure to come at least 2 or 3 times a year. Once…read morein April for the tulips and daffodils, then in April/May once or twice for the lilacs, and finally in December for the lights. There are so many lilacs here, and the park just keeps going. You can smell them from across the street, and wandering the park when they're in bloom makes me unreasonably happy. So I check the Bloom-O-Meter on the park's website / social media and you should too. The wide variety of lilacs means they all start blooming at different times, so the joy lasts for weeks. There are also huge plantings of multiple varieties of tulips and daffodils - they're pretty sad by the time the lilacs really get going, but earlier they're beautiful too. During the official weekend of "Lilac Time" the local garden club will sell you your very own lilac, and possibly some other plants, too (convenient parking in the spots by the Metra if you're hauling plants). The Historical Society across the street stocks extra lilac stuff (postcards, shirts, keychains, etc.) when the lilacs are blooming, so hit them up too. The winter holiday lights are also magical and they keep them up a fairly long time (into January) - so if you didn't get around to seeing a light display, they got you. I don't recommend coming the night they turn them on as it's a mad crush, but there's a wide variety of different kinds of lights and it's well worth a trip when it's less crowded. Lights are on until 10pm - most of the little kids are gone by 7pm or so. Street parking usually available, or the lot at the Historical Society is free after 11am.
