Please be cautious that there are many bikers along the main trail, I do feel like there are not enough public restrooms so you may have to walk all the way down to the south side of the trail to find a porta potty but thankfully they were brand new and squeaky clean. Plenty of people can be observed kayaking, and just having fun Outdoors. I personally enjoyed coming here and having fun on a fully paved path. Solid recommendation!

It was a pretty hot day, but one of the nicest things is that the park is primarily in the shade. There are two main playgrounds right next to each other. Good place to go on a bicycle. It looks like a pretty nondescript park, as far as parks around here. The park is at the intersection of Royce and Washington. It has a few trails connecting to other parks around here. This is also close to Whalon Lake. It has some wide open grassy areas. There's trees but not a lot. Across the street are athletic fields. This is also the location of parking. Business picks up when there's a youth sports league. There's baseball, soccer, and more. Busy roads are the bad thing about it. It also only has parking on the side with the athletic facilities so it means you have to cross the street to get to the main part. Trails connect it to Whalon Lake and other parks, great for bicycling and stuff.

There are beautiful tallgrass prairies with lots of native blooms as well as wetland. Brewster Creek winds through the park. Popular spot with dog walkers and a few cyclists. Bathroom facilities are clean, there is a picnic pavilion and lots of free parking. There is hardly any shade so sunny, hot days go early or late. Kids will enjoy the Nature Center's collection of reptiles and many programs and events held there by Bartlett Park District. Meeting rooms and a small theater are available to rent for residents through the park district. Today we saw a group of Girl Scouts walking the trails. This park is a real asset to the community.

The park has a playground for children, which includes a jungle gym, swings, slides, etc. There are many benches around the play ground. Also, a picnic table and gazebo are available next to the beach volleyball net. This is the reason why the park is always busy during summertime. Many people have their parties here. Teens also come and play soccer and basketball during the day. The parking lot is large and private. There is a bike trail around the Beirman Park and the Heritage Lake. It's a very convenient for biking and walking. I come to this park with my children every other week during the summer to stay in shape and also enjoy the beautiful scenery, weather, and sounds of nature. Many people go fishing at the lake. It also has a covered shelter with picnic tables and everything is in pretty nice shape. Not the biggest place but what it lacks in size it sure makes up in beauty. The only things that keeps it from five stars are that there are not enough trash receptacles and I spotted some litter here and there. On a side note, in my opinion, people that litter should be beaten with a large stick! However, overall this is just a beautiful, peaceful spot. I bike through here almost everyday and always enjoy it. If you are in the area it is worth checking out.

This is the best disc golf course in The Kane. Hands down…read more My 6yr old son and I head over here all year round to play this course. The Wheeler disc course sculpts a greater park that also claims several walking/bike paths, a baseball field, soccer/hockey fields, picnic areas, a playground, a mini golf course and tennis courts. Some of the holes are too hard for him to come close to par, but others are a great fit for his current ability. The course has a great range in difficulty which spans from easy par 3's to challenging par 4's. Legging out the entire course is about a 2 mile venture. The backwoods holes are a real hoot. Can't tell you the number of times I've headed into the tree's or the ravine to find a disc that's hooked too far right or left. Throwing from the top of the hill on hole #11 is a person fav. Just don't be surprised if you have to perform the aforementioned trip on a stray disc. Other holes feature baskets on the other side of a cluster of tree's, some border natural grass/reed areas, while others have very lengthy fairways weaving lines of tree's. Amenities-wise there's a drinking fountain near the parking lot and bathrooms near the playground. If you need anything else, bring it. Most golfers here like to bring their own beverage of choice.
