We discovered this place in 2020 & kept going as nature walks were the only family activity we could do during the pandemic. This park is impeccably maintained, safe & offers a vast green space along with ample parking. Views of the fox river, mature trees & big lush grassy lawn. There are numerous activities available besides walking, biking, picnicking. You can enjoy amenities such as a baseball park, tennis/pickleball courts, paddle boats & mini golf (for a fee), fitness circuit, beach volleyball & bocce or bring your own set of outdoor games. Also a small water park with slides. Now all that's lacking is a set of basketball hoops & this would be THE perfect park! The bike path runs alongside the scenic Fox River, providing breathtaking views. Benches & picnic tables are plentiful & scattered throughout the park. It's the perfect spot to set up a pop-up tent & picnic blanket like we always do. You can also rent a pavilion for parties & gatherings. This park is conveniently located near a variety of restaurants, stores & bookstores on Main St. in St. Charles. read more

Came here to picnic for Mother's Day. It was very crowded but a lot of green space. The park has wide sidewalks for a stroll or biking. There are also activities. Paddle boats, scenic boat ride and mini golf. There are some snacks sold by the mini golf area. My only complaint is there isn't enough restrooms. There is one facility close to the parking lot but it is a long walk of you decide to camp farther away. There should at least be portopotties spread out. read more

Recently came here during Scarecrow Fest. This place was a surprise find! I didn't even know you can walk to the top of the building. You can see some carved in love messages but it's a well maintained structure. The top is absolutely beautiful and you get a solid view of St. Charles! It definitely makes for a great exercise too if you're looking for stairs. Overall, solid reccomend when visiting the city! read more

Probably the most popular park in St Charles. Tends to be full of life on the weekends. It's a really nice place to walk or have a picnic. With all the great take out spots it's a great way to enjoy some good food with a view. Also there's a really nice path that links Pottawatomie to downtown, and it's very easy to walk Mount St Mary's - DT STC - Pottawatomie and back. Highly recommend that walk for anyone visiting! read more

LOVE Pottawatomie Park! We like to bike or drive to this park to enjoy the wonderful spread-out spaces including 2 parks, baseball field, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, river-walk, mini golf course w/concessions, the look-out tower, and the fun stream/splash pad built next to the river. We love to bring a pic-nic and drinks to stay as long as we can before tiring out. The bathrooms are inside a sheltered building, and they are clean and well-maintained. The paddle-wheel boats are nearby for (online) reserved boat rides between May and October. The pavilion is available for rent (online) through the park district, and is a beautiful location for a wedding/reception/reunions/parties! This park is near downtown St. Charles and easily accessible on foot, by bike, or by car. The Fox River Trail goes through this park and continues North through Elgin and up to the Wisconsin border. It's a beautiful park and always will be one of our favorites! read more

What a great park! This historic park is right off the water and has some beautiful views. I went here for a family picnic and expected this to be your normal park, but this is so much more. It has mini golf, access to paddleboats, fishing, lots of grassy areas, an exercise playground for adults and a playground for the kiddo's, too! There's lots of picnic tables for you to sit at and some areas that would be perfect for a larger party or gathering. I would 100% go back if I lived closer to St. Charles! read more

What more could a person ask for then Pottawatomie Park? Makes me want to move to St. Charles. I truly love it here and it takes a l lot sometimes to be truly entranced by something. This park has so many great attributes. Pool which seems to be under construction. Love this historic park! This was my 1st visit and enjoyed walking around on a beautiful sunny day. It was nice to see that the park offers pedal boat rentals, volleyball and tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic area, mini-golf and more. There was a time in my life when my summers were filled with picnics and rounds of mini golf at Pottawatomie Park. What are they filled with now? Grueling workouts. It so happens that my trainer lives within earshot of Pottawatomie Park. This place that I found so lovely and serene....that I once frollicked and skipped about...is now my own personal jungle gym...filled with blood, sweat and tears. Looking for a good work out? Go run those stairs up the hill, buddy. Oh, what? It's raining? Don't worry...there's a pavillion by the river...that's covered....with LOTS of stairs you can run! Wooopie! What's that you say? You need to concentrate on strength training? Don't worry my friend! There are plenty of trees and posts for you to wrap your resistance band around so that no part of your body will feel neglected during your work out! Seriously, the park is a really great place to work out...weather it be with your trainer, on your bike, by foot or....by paddle boat. The mini golf is great. Most mini golf courses are mega cheesy (but we love it anyhow) but not this one. It's nicely landscaped and there are some very challenging holes (that's what she said...sorry I'm immature and could not resist). Perfect place to spend an afternoon....bring a picnic or grab a bite downtown (a nice little stroll away). Not in a walking moood? Take a ride on the riverboat! Undoubtedly the most revered of all St. Charles and...dare I say, Fox Valley parks, Pottawatomie Park is well known as a hot spot during many local St. Charles festivals such as River and Scarecrow fest. There is a mini golf course, at least two playgrounds, and a beautiful river walk area that winds along the Fox River. You can often see joggers, families and photographers scattered throughout the park. What makes me like Pot Wat the most? THE STAIRS. I love coming here and running the stairs the run up and down the hill. Totally relaxing, a scenic view, and a tough workout. The playground is only yards away, which can also serve for a great place to get in a workout provided there are no children present. Picnic tables to jump on, monkey bars to climb and whatever else you need to get it done. I will say that I hate being heckled by the occasional unattended tween. Like sorry dude, that you're too old to still be on the playground yet not old enough to drive or have anything better to do but you don't need to keep yelling "hey" or trying to get the attention of a stranger for your own amusement. St. Charles just got a little bit cuter to me after some visits to Pottawatomie Park. This park is very clean and well-maintained and just so peaceful and gorgeous. It sits along the Fox River and there are places where you can rent kayak or paddle boat to use. Steps away from downtown St. Charles, you can stroll from breakfast/lunch/dinner and enjoy a pretty walk along the river. There's a pool, children's playground and mini golf if you're looking for more things to do. For the fitness set, it's a great place for jogging, walking and biking. I've seen many groups having their exercise classes out here too--pushing themselves running up and down stairs, jumping rope, using resistance bands. Oh and there's a nice low wall that you can use to do grueling step ups, picnic tables where you can do reverse tricep dips, or incline push-ups. If you see me, say hello, I promise to wave back--if I can lift my arm. Pottawatomie Park: a great place to play or relax, or channel your inner Demi Moore a la GI Jane. One day soon, I'll just bring my kindle and chill on one of the cute benches--that is unless my fitness instructor finds me first. read more

I really do enjoy this park, Very open with a pool park, boat rentals, tennis courts, and baseball fields. Probably one the things I like about this park is the the putt putt course that have located at the park.I come here once a year for our company picnic and I must say I enjoy it every time, considering it 's bit a drive from the city. read more

This is the type of place that makes me love the suburbs. Maybe even live there. Nah, just kidding! This park is beautiful, rolling hills, right on the Fox River. I have taken the paddle boat tour a few times with my folks, and even on Mother's Day they gave my mom a flower. Awwwww. Also, hello Putt-putt! I love putt-putt, and although its not the most challenging course, its a blast with the little ones. Anyway, this is a great lively place, my nephews love it and so does my whole family. read more

We took advantage of the final days of summer by renting a pedal boat at Pottawatomie Park, and had a relaxing and exhausting time with it out on the Fox River. It's $15/hour to rent a pedal boat or a canoe, and there's plenty of room to pedal your heart out and then drift... then pedal some more to get away from the shoreline, and then drift... and then the wind picks up and you're pedaling into the wind no matter which way you're facing. :-) While you're pedaling, it's like riding a recumbent bike with a lifejacket on. If it's a warm day, be forewarned - you WILL get sweaty. It's still fun. But hey, when you go back to the concession stand to pick up your deposit, you can always cool off with some ice cream. Love this park. Many times over the years I have had family picnic events here. Pool here, mini golf with concessions right on the beautiful river! Down town st charles just a short walk away! There are paddle boats, a river boat (which we rented for our wedding vow exchange!!). Its clean, lots of space and real bathrooms! Its a great community! Go see for yourself read more

This park is a beautiful location. My family and I spent all day the 4th of July this year there and had an amazing day. Very clean and not crowded and its noce to see staff going around to make sure it is kept clean throughout the day. We didnt stay for the fireworks, but did take advantage of the boat ride. I think we will be spending every 4th of July there. Also this was my 1st time in St. Charles. Such a cute little town! read more

We had our wedding at the Pottawatomie Park pavilion. It's a gorgeous setting, right on the river, and we were able to create a beautiful ceremony. There were just some major hiccups on the part of the park staff that really got in the way. In several emails, it was discussed and I reminded park supervision that I was going to enter the ceremony from the pavilion tower. If this was not possible, I would have rented a tent, but they said that it was and that they would ensure it was unlocked. Well, it wasn't. I was stuck out in the open and all my guests saw me (the bride) before the ceremony. Really put a damper on the entrance. We also had musicians and microphones that we were told we could hook up from electric behind the stage. The electric had been turned off, and the box to reactivate it was locked. Instead of spending time preparing for the ceremony, as planned, our wedding parties had to run all over looking for park staff to unlock the tower and turn on the power. Very disappointing -- we had to start late. Finally, park supervision wrote me the literal day before the wedding to announce that they were going to charge my wedding guests to park. Not only would this hold things up, but this is incredibly tacky, and wasn't in the budget so last minute. While the setting is beautiful, I'd recommend anyone getting married here have a dedicated person on-site early to make sure everything's in order. The park supervisor / coordinator was extremely unhelpful and unapologetic with follow through. Despite all this, we received no refund, etc. for the issues. read more

It's the home of the best festivals in the area and they're FREE - yea I'm giving you a dirty look Lisle and Naperville. This park is gorgeous, right on the water, with a beautiful wood gazebo type thing where sometimes they have performances. I saw a Native American group there that did some dancing, it was very entertaining and the weather was great for being outside. My parents' church picnic is held here, and other groups hold picnics here - plenty of room, and places to barbecue. There is a playground for children, and nice bathrooms. On the water, some people bring their fishing gear and fish, and you can take a boat ride. Highly recommended. read more

Went up here with my wife for our 1 year anniversary. Great park! We didn't get to see it all, but the fact they have hot coals buckets everywhere for your charcoal bbq is a game-changer for me. It was crowded, mainly because of a party that was reserved, but everyone was having a great time. We didn't get to see the whole park, but we did see the mini-golf course, paddle boat rentals, the pavilion, and the boat tour. Awesome park and will definitely be back before the summer is over to check everything out. read more

This place has a great and peaceful environment as well as some unique attractions for the Kids. I did learn the hard way that you need to come sometime before 1pm on the fourth or July since the park was already full for the 9:45PM Fireworks?!?!? But the other 364 days a year, this is one of my favorite places to bike too and bring the little ones! read more

the mini golf / concession stand is a great place for a bike stop while on the Fox River Trail. They sell a quality Brat and Hot Dog :)
