I just moved in the area so my boyfriend, roommate and I were looking for a fun spot to golf around and hopefully continue to return to. After finding this course, we thought for sure it would be our go to course for a day of fun. Not the case.
We made the reservation on GolfNow, which was easy. Showed up, paid $50 (crazy for how unkempt the courses were, although it included the cart), $100 total for two golfers. The tee times were stacked up and there were numerous lines both in front of us and behind. I made the reservation for two golfers since I planned to just tag along. There was no option for "walkers" or bystanders, so I didn't made the reservation for myself (even though it stated it was available for up to four golfers). We paid when we arrived. It was easy and the pro shop was friendly.
We then drove the cart to the first tee, and gave him our reservation. The man helping was cold, walked away, and came back to tell us that legally, they couldn't allow me to walk with everyone. I explained i wasn't golfing and just watching. Not acceptable. I had to return to the pro shop, which was originally friendly and welcoming, to explain the situation. The cashier was very upset I didn't mention I was walking and repeated this numerous times. Even after I explained that I didn't know it was necessary. I was then charged $20 to walk. I could understand a $10 charge for any green fees, but $20 just seemed like a massive up-charge after going through the course.
After clearing up the issue, my roommate started to tee off. The man who told me it was a legal issue actually approached my boyfriend to tell him that he should tell her to move up to the ladies tee so she could keep up with him. If it was a friendly suggestion, he should have said it to my roommate who was directly next to him. At this point, sufficiently disgusted with the comments and situation at hand, we tried to brush it off and have a good time. Not two holes in, we're hit with sprinklers. All across the course. We luckily didn't get soaked, but it was just plain luck. Right after the sprinklers go off, we get a notification on the cart to tell us the sprinklers were scheduled. We attempted to call the pro shop, but no one was reached. The rest of the nine holes were met with waiting for the sprinklers to shut off, hoping we weren't in a spot to get wet when they turned back on, and just poor courses. I wish we were notified while making the tee time or at the pro shop, because we would have avoided that time.
There was litter covering the fairways, making finding the ball near impossible, the cart trails were bumpy and old, the course itself was just ugly. We planned on spending the day there, doing a full 18, but after just 7 we gave up and had my boyfriend finish the last two.
What was meant to be a fun labor day weekend activity turned sour from poor customer service, rude behavior, courses that need serious attention, and just lack of ethics. It's a shame since this course has such a prime location and a driving range. We expected much better. We will definitely not be returning and will be looking at other courses for a more enjoyable, professional experience. read more
