Bought my yellow lab there 3 years ago December. Dog's name is Casey. Wonderful female yellow lab. Was allowed to visit and pick it out. Was a few left to pick out by the time we visited but all the dogs where Beautiful and in great condition. They gave us a pick up date and where greeted by owners with great direction and advice. We are certainly pleased 3 years later. I grew up with German Shepherds but will say this beautiful yellow lab is a awesome family dog. Also alerts you to cars in driveway etc. But is wonderful with guests and company. These dogs love to be loved ! My female lab weighs 70/72 pounds consistently. These dogs need walks and a place to run. A very very loyal family dog ! I recommend this breeder. We have two labs from Dunrovin. Both are sweet, calm and great with kids. One of them was recently certified as a visiting therpay dog. We opted for the started puppy program. It is well worth the wait and money. They dogs learn basic obedience, leash walking and are crate trained. I highly recommend this breeder. read more

My family recently purchased a puppy from Dunrovin Farm. We selected the puppy in February when she was about 10 weeks old and brought her home last week. We have been very pleased with the process and with our puppy. I found the company's website in February when searching on-line and I set up an appointment to visit the farm. My family made the trip to the farm that weekend. The farm is in Halifax, MA which is about 30 minutes off of Rt. 24. We went to the farm and met the breeders. We explained that we wanted a female yellow lab and that because we have young children, 5 & 7, we really wanted a well behaved dog that was socialized to be around unfamiliar people and animals. Basically, we didn't want her charging at every other dog when we went for a walk or growling/snipping at persons. We explained our living conditions and the environment the dog would be coming home to. The breeders explained that there were two 10 week old female yellow labs available and that more yellow females would be available in a few weeks as they were only about 5.5 weeks old at the time and were not ready to be shown. We were able to watch the two 10 week old female labs as they interacted with each other and with my family. We also met the puppies' parents. My daughters then selected their new puppy. Because we were concerned about socialization, and because we thought it would not be a good idea for us to bring a new puppy home in February, we opted for the Started Puppy program. We were told that at the end of the Started Puppy program our dog would be leash trained, mostly crate trained (not fully potty trained) and understand basic commands. We agreed on a date target date for bringing home the puppy, but also understood that if it turned out that a few additional weeks were necessary for the puppy's development, we would wait those weeks. We picked a date that was about 10 weeks from the date we purchased the puppy. We visited the puppy each weekend to establish familiarity and later on to participate in the training. Two of our puppy's brothers were also in the Started Puppy program and we saw that their owners also visited the farm most weekend. The difference between the puppy's development (and growth) was very noticeable each week. By about the 5th week the puppy was able to walk on a slack leash and stay by mine or my wife's side with little correcting. By the 8th week there was no correcting needed. Though, like any puppy (or child) there were days when she just didn't feel like obeying. We brought our puppy home about 10 weeks after we selected her, at which point she was about 5 months of age. That night she slept in her crate after about 20 minutes of barking. The crate was clean the next morning and every morning since. She has not barked in her crate since and sometime she just goes to her crate to hang out. Our puppy has an amazing temperament. Two days after she came home I brought her to a playground. At one point she had about five kids under age 7 petting her while she lay down. It did not bother her. She can go for walks and not be bothered by other dogs that walk by. At home she likes to lay on her dog bed or on the floor by our side. She enjoys companionship and attention. Our puppy understands basic commands (sit, heal, down, come) but like most puppies she is selective in when she wants to obey them. We are working with her a few times a day on this and she improves every day. Overall I am very pleased with my experience with Dunrovin Farm and I have recommended the farm to friends and family. Also, we brought our new puppy to our local vet and we were happy to hear that the vet was familiar with Dunrovin Farm and had a favorable opinion of the dogs they had seen from there. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! My husband and I gave a deposit of $1000.00 to purchase a lab puppy in January of 2013. We wanted a large male that was the lightest (close to white) of the litter. We decided to wait for a litter to be born in April after seeing their large male that was nearly white and forgo choosing from an earlier litter. Since we gave our deposit in January, we were guaranteed first pick of the litter. We called when the pups were born and were told in 2 seperate conversations with the owners that they knew exactly which pup we would want..."he looks just like Kade, he's big and white." We arranged to see the pup. They showed us two fairly dark yellow pups to choose from - the litter had 8 pups. We asked where our large, white pup was that they had described to us via phone and they told us that someone had come the day before and picked him!! It was very upsetting and awkward to say the least. Yes, we should have demanded our money back right then and there. We spent some time with the two pups and felt we were talked into choosing one, which we did. As soon as we got in the car to leave we regretted the decision as we have always had white labs and were not interested in a yellow. Another concern was that both times we visited their operation, all their dogs were barking - a lot! On the second visit, I had to pass their outdoor cages and Kade lunged at me while growling and barking ferociously and a couple other dogs barked wildly while lunging at me. I've never seen dogs act this way except on tv. ANyway, we called them only 1 hour later to tell them that we did not want the yellow pup because we were only interested in the white pup and told them that we felt that they had acted unethically by giving our pup to someone else after guaranteeing we had first pick and knowing we were coming to see him the day after he gave it to someone else. We had already not only given them the entire cost for the pup at that point ($2000.00) but given them an additonal $2000.00 for their starter pup program. Another alert - they wanted us to take the pup at 6 weeks old! I expressed our concern about the pup being taken from the mother so early and they told us that the pups were completely weaned at 4 weeks and hadn't been with the mother since! Since we felt that at least the pup would be better socialized and that we wanted the pup to stay for at least 8 weeks, we agreed to pay for the starter pup program even though we told them we only wanted the pup to stay there another two weeks...and they made us pay the entire cost - $2000.00/8 weeks - even after telling them this. During the conversation, only 1 hour after leaving their place, we asked for all our money back. They REFUSED and told us we could choose from a later litter - period! They also told us to send back the paperwork we had signed so that they could sell the yellow pup we had agreed to. I sent them a demand letter letting them know we would take court action and enclosed the paperwork they requested. THey finally sent us a check for the starter pup program, but not the $2000.00 for the pup saying that we had not returned the paperwork. I sent it via registered mail and had their signature, so I know they received it. They have a clause in the paperwork saying that if you return the pup within three days, they will refund the money except keep $300.00 for "costs." First, we didn't even take the pup - they had it. And again, we called them 1 hour later after leaving their place. We finally got a check from them - minus $300.00...an expensive hour!!! These breeders not only have unethical business practices, I question their breeding practices and the care they give their own dogs. I found consumer compaints thru the BBB (even though they are not registered with the BBB) and another complaint online. I've never made a complaint online concerning any other business, but felt this needed to be done. And I'll never make a purchase this large again without checking the business out thoroughly. read more

Ordered Dog toys from this organization. They sent a confirmation email and charged my credit card for the purchase on 11/23/2009. I sent a follow up email to them on 12/4/2009 and got a reply back saying the shipping department is closed but items have been shipped. It's 12/22/2009 and still have not received goods. Contacted AMEX to dispute charge. They never answer their phone and did not reply to my email that informed them that I was contacting AMEX and posting to YELP. Our pup from Dunrovin Farm is the smartest Lab we have ever had. He is very calm, and came to us from the Started Puppy program very well-manered. Our experience at Dunrovin Farm was quite wonderful. My son picked his pup, and returned to visit several times while the pup was in the Started Program. He met the adult dogs while visiting, and found them to be well-mannered and smart too. I have had dogs all my life, and will say, this purchasing experience was the best. Straight forward and honest. Quite the opposite of the last reviewer's experience. The folks at Dunrovin breed beautiful, smart dogs. Ours is a wonderful pet. We have had many inquiries asking us where he came from as he is so impressive.
