Well Dunnes have certain come along way. From being deeply uncool, shoddy and second rate back in the 80's they're now even more common then they were, this time however, people are flocking to Dunnes like never before.
To be fair to the Dunnes brand they have pulled up their socks in a big way, with bigger selections of goods, better store layout and improvement of overall quality. Yes the white Dunnes own brand are everywhere still but in a more expanded and better quality range.
Ashleaf is pretty much my local Dunnes so I'm a regular visitor, still cheapest for food, toiletries and general grocery items. The men's clothes section still ain't great but you can't have everything I suppose. This store also does home wares and furniture in the front.
As before Dunnes main selling point is cheapness, with specials in the grocery usually at the front of the store and always seeming to be biscuit and junk food heavy for some reason.
Parking is free in Ashleaf for the first half an hour and has long opening hours. read more
