My husband and I traveled 3 hours to come here specifically for their March Bread Day, which featured pizza. Wowza, did it impress! We placed our order on arrival for our pizzas (45 minute wait, baked with love) and wandered the property with our pup and grabbed some seasonal lattes. Their vanilla rose latte was perfection! Now, onto the pizzas. These are good enough to be in any ritzy downtown Italian restaurant. Absolutely delicious. We ordered one with basil and one with pepperoni. They definitely could have poured on the basil, as there was really only sprinkles here and there. But, still good! We also pre-ordered goods that we picked up from their bread barn and got a croissant, breakfast cake and blueberry muffin to go. All delicious! The croissant you could have found in a Parisian bakery! I wish these guys were closer, but know the people of Raphine have found a gem at Seasons Yield!

To paraphrase the Beatles, there's nothing I can say that can't be said, but man do I love, love, love this place. Excellent whole bean offerings, roasted to perfection by expert roasters. Delicious hot and iced coffee and espresso drinks that simply can't be replicated anywhere nearby--including, sadly, in my home town of Staunton (hey, Trager Brothers! There's a huge opportunity for expansion in the Queen City!). And top all that off with sublime, informed, and incredibly friendly front of house staff. Yeah, it's a little hard to find, but anything worth having is worth looking for. And in this age of googling and Apple mapping and whatnot, there's no excuse for not availing yourself to the BEST coffee in central Virginia. Y'all who might have read some of my other reviews will know: I usually have a minor nit to pick with even my five stars. Not so with the Brothers Trager, fam. Enter their shop and be greeted by the heavenly aroma of roasting coffee, the whir of a burr grinder, the quiet scream of a steaming wand, the genuine smile and friendly greeting of the barista. It's a family-owned farm run by super nice people, and it's a great place to visit when you're in the Lexington area. You can explore more than a thousand lavender plants of 20 different varieties here. I visited during the off season, when the lavender bushes were spent and dormant, but there were a few sprigs here and there, and even so, the rest of the garden was lush and beautiful. If you want to experience the lavender fields in full bloom, you'll want to visit in late spring through summer. Around the end of May to the end of June is when they do U-pick lavender, where you can pick your own lavender bouquets. The owners also produce and sell lavender products, dried and fresh wreaths, lavender food (including lavender ice cream!). Friendly farm animals also live on the farm, and you might be able to meet and greet them. These are the most content and happy animals I've encountered maybe ever. Could it be because they live on a lavender farm and they're absorbing the calming vibes of this medicinal plant? Most likely it's because the owners are super awesome and treat the animals like family. It's great to see. The farm is open May to December.

Free WiFi so customers can drop by and do some work as they drink a cup of coffee. While I was there, a customer did just that. To drink I ordered a medium Caffè Mocha. To eat I ordered a Breakfast Sandwich with a Cloverdale Plain Bagel, with Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. And finish with something sweet, a Cherry Danish. The Mocha was amazingly good The Bagel was very large and fresh; crunchy on the outside and soft and moist ingredients the inside with a nice size portion of Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. I spent some time there and was able to meet one of the employees who happened to arrive during this time. I also met a nice older couple who enjoy eating at different restaurants and I recommended them Crooked Shoreline Steak and Seafood from Daleville, which I just finished eating there and few days before, and was the first to review this restaurant for Yelp. They loved the oral recap of my review and promised they would go that same event to dine there. They in turn recommended me Nakhon Thai Cuisine which I will be doing there and reviewing for Yelp next Tuesday. Amazingly, what I wrote about at the beginning of this review did take place during the time I was there. God has blessed this Coffee House in a very special way, and it was providing more than just food and drinks for the body, but also for the soul. I highly recommend this Coffee House to all reading this review and viewing the photographs taken for it. In this day and age that it is hard to find a place like this to enjoy a cup of coffee, meet interesting people to socialize with, and do some productive work.
