A great spot within North Canton!…read more There aren't a ton of donut spots in the area, but if you ask anyone local to the area, Johnnie's is "the place" for the best donuts. A self-aware donut snob, I typically like to bring donuts in while I am making customer visits throughout my travels. I carefully research the areas that I am visiting for the best independent local donut shops. If I cannot find one, I refuse to entertain "big donut" chains. They're garbage, as my donut shop owning grandfather used to say. I've visited Johnnie's a couple of times. I'm easy - 1 or 2 dozen and I let them pick the mix as long as there are a few glazed mixed in each box. Always a hit when I bring them in and they are always appreciated. Would I go back? Absolutely. I'd like to believe that none of them ever get thrown away. I always make the suggestion to not throw any of them away. Take them home so they don't go to waste. Pro Tip: Get there early. Johnnie's is a gem but it's no secret. The locals flock to Johnnie's to get their donut fixes and they know to get there early.

Overall: It's so nice to have a quality ramen place in the canton area. The seating area is cute…read moreand not super over crowded. The ramen deal with an appetizer was well priced! I liked how much food you got and how you had a few options to choose from. Food: * pineapple passion mojito - 5/5 absolutely DELICIOUS. It was a perfect drink to have with dinner. It was light and refreshing with just enough sweetness. * chicken and pork bao - 4/5 super yummy! I actually liked the pork more than the chicken. It was almost like a buttery taste. It was soft and the meat just fell apart. The chicken was good too but was more on the tough side, probably because it was fried. * spicy beef ramen - 5/5 I will absolutely be back to get this again. Just the right level of spice. All the ingredients were fresh, well made, and delicious. It's the type of food that you can't help eating more of even though you're beyond full. * crispy chicken ramen - 3.5/5 This was still a good choice! I loved the chicken in it. I think this is a very safe choice for anyone who might be on the more picky side. The broth was good but not spicy. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place! There are so many options and there is something for everyone to try.

The food took a little longer than expected to come out, and not everything hit the table at the same time, so a few of us were eating while others were still waiting. Not the end of the world, but it's always nicer when everyone gets to dig in together. Now for the good part...the food was definitely worth talking about. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I don't think anyone at the table had a bad meal, so major props to the kitchen. The only thing that really held this visit back was the service. Our server started off really pleasant, but as the night went on she became less attentive and seemed a little frustrated. We found ourselves waiting quite a while for things while she seemed much more engaged with her other tables. By the time we were ready to pay, she was crouched down on her phone and looked a little annoyed that she had to stop what she was doing to cash us out. We all have off days, so I'm hoping that's all it was. We actually rated the experience a 7.5/10 while we were sitting there, and for us that's a solid score because we're pretty tough critics. The food absolutely carried the night. Unfortunately, the service knocked it down a bit. We all work in the restaurant industry ourselves, so we're usually the first people to give grace because we know how chaotic a shift can get. I'd definitely come back for the food and hope we just caught our server on an off night
