I've been here a couple times now... and while the donuts are good, I'm hard-pressed to believe…read morethat they're the best donuts anyone's ever had. Like, they're donuts. They're fine. But I don't think there's anything especially unique about them. Maybe it's just me. I don't really have a huge sweet tooth, so it takes something really amazing to impress me when it comes to pastries and the like. The cafe itself though didn't really do it for me either - it felt incredibly dated, like I'd teleported back to the 1980's. Typically, I'd even think that was charming... but I didn't feel the charm in this cafe either. Tattered bar stools and a couple booths were available for seating. Besides my friend and I going together for my most recent visit, there was only a family of 4 ordering some donuts... but otherwise, the place was empty. Even then, service felt a bit disorganized. The two employees switched back and forth between who they were paying attention to, and even then the employee who ended up coming to the counter didn't remember what the order was she had just filled. Ultimately, I think Ridge Donut Cafe probably caters more to the folks who grew up in the area and have some nostalgia for it than anything else. As a newer customer, I've tried it a couple times and always walked away thinking it was just okay. Will I visit again? Probably not... I've done my due diligence in trying this cafe, and I just don't have those memories / that nostalgia for it that locals do.

If there's a food trend, you best bet I'll be jumping on it…read more Mochinut offers Korean corn dogs, boba beverages, and of course, mochi donuts. This time around, I only came to give the donuts a try. This location is really cute and fun, lots of seating! The service was quick and attentive as well. First the positive: I loved the texture of the donuts. Rice flour-based desserts have a chewier texture that I find really good, and the donuts here were no exception to that. They held up well over the two days after I bought them, which is a plus. Where they fell flat was, unfortunately, with the flavor. I got three different kinds (strawberry cheesecake, white chocolate raspberry, and taro), and they all tasted the same. Just vaguely sweet and sugary, which isn't a bad thing. I was just expecting a lot more in terms of flavor considering the price point. I might give Mochinut a shot again in the future for their donuts, but I definitely want to come back for a Korean corn dog and a boba tea. I think the concept here is really unique, and it's nice to have a different option for treats!
