Most of the traffic seems to be take out, but there's a few booths and counter seats where you can sit down and eat. The staff have always been helpful and friendly. Visited Ridge Donut Cafe today after hearing good reviews from other people and we wanted to take my mother-in-law while she was visiting from out of town. The donuts themselves were pretty yummy and the breakfast sandwich was good as well. The one star review is coming from the customer service. The more mature women were very rude and impatient. Rushing us and making us feel silly for asking questions or not knowing how their ordering system works. The younger woman were very kind, accommodating and helpful and would appreciate if the store was run more by women with attitudes like that for customer service. The donuts themselves we're good. Line was out the door but it moved fast as there were several people taking orders. It is a cute cafe with several tables and a counter with stools if you would like to eat in house. Had my first experience at Ridge Donut cafe, recommended by a co worker as we visited nearby hospital. The place is small but it's all you need. Lots of parking in the back. Walking in there's a counter filled with all sorts of goodies. Cookies looked delicious! I was there to try their famous donuts! With so many options it was a tough decision. I picked out six to take back to the office, they had a cheesecake strawberry special.... There's also seating near the front of the building, a few spots at a countertop perfect for a quick bite and a cup of coffee. Learned a lot of people come here to hangout every day. However, I thought the donuts were just Alright. Nothing special. Sure, they are better than Dunkin. The donuts we tried: Cinnamon roll: 5/5 super soft and flavorful. They are fresh and soft and well worth a drive across town to get your $1.66 donut or $19.99 dozen. The staff are pleasant and eager to assist you. It's okay. I need to be honest and say that I'm not the world's biggest donut fan. I've been here exactly twice - once while writing this review, and once maybe 3-4 years ago. Both were so-so experiences. When I was here years ago, there was an eggshell in my egg sandwich. Today, the staff waiting on me just seemed flustered and annoyed. The donuts are good (I had an apple cider donut this time), the egg sandwich was shell-free and tasty, and the coffee was just okay and highly overpriced - I got a box to go for the office. My egg & cheese on a bagel, 12 donuts, and the box of coffee came to $39.94. It's pretty small in the ordering area with limited ability to social distance (some staff wore masks, some did not). There is a small counter and some booths for eating in. It's a Rochester favorite and I love to support local, but I won't be rushing back with all of the breakfast spots and bakeries we have around here. read more

The employees were fast and efficient. When we arrived there was a line and they quickly worked through. It's a little tight while placing your order and other people are leaving but otherwise gives vibes of an old school diner. Now the donuts, they were out of a couple flavors at 10am - maybe to be expected at that time of the morning? They still had a good selection and we were able to get a dozen. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the scent of fresh-baked donuts, muffins, and other pastries. We each decided to take home 6 donuts. The gentleman behind the counter told us it was cheaper to have ordered one dozen donuts instead of two half-dozens. We explained that we are going to two separate addresses otherwise we would have. The gentleman said he could ring us up for a dozen if we could handle the finances between ourselves (which we could, thanks to Venmo), so we got a dozen huge, fresh donuts and 2 bottles of water for 15 dollars. Ridge Donuts is apparently a local staple. It's been there for years, and it's easy to see why. The customer service is top notch, and the donuts are to die for. I had a glazed donut which was delicious, but then again it's hard to mess up a glazed donut. There was also a chocolate cinnamon donut which was a chocolate frosted donut with a huge dollop of cinnamon frosting on top where the donut hole would go. It was amazing, and I am considering relocating to Rochester because of this donut. I would return to Ridge any day, any time, to eat anything offered there. read more

Wow I've heard great things about this place, but nothing could've prepared me for these donuts. I'm used to Dunkin which can sometimes feel like eating lightly frosted air. Ridge gives you dense, quality donuts that don't skimp on the important stuff. The apple fritter and cinnamon twist donut holes were sugary and flavorful. This is definitely a place to go to treat yourself. Even though it was national donut day, there was a long line, and they were almost out of donuts, the service was efficient. So I love ridge donuts normally for their normal selection of the donuts they have, but nothing beats the random collaboration specials they have for a weekend. My all time favorite is the Neapolitan cookie (rainbow cookie) from rubinos. It's actually my favorite cookie no matter where it is from,but when it's made into one of my favorite deserts it's pretty epic. They did this special twice now and of course I'm waiting for a third time. On my birthday they did the cookie dough donut which was also pretty good, it wasn't just dough on the top but in the middle as a filling as well. They have done other specials but the most recent is a collaboration with finger lakes coffee Jamaican me crazy and did a fry cake with the maple, brown sugar, rum flavor of that coffee as the covering over the fry cake. 5 stars for Ridge Donuts! I think these are probably my favorite donuts in the area. Mostly simple, classic donuts but they do then so well. One of topic of conversation at my gym lately has been donuts. Hands down everyone said Ridge has the best donuts - especially loved are the red velvet and apple fritter. I had never been to Ridge so today I stopped in. I could smell them as soon as I opened my car door in the parking lot! Inside, the wall of donuts behind the counter was amazing - big, pretty, fluffy, yummy looking circles of love Picking only 6 to bring home was difficult, but I had a gut feeling we'd be coming here regularly. I also ordered a fresh, hot cup of coffee for my ride home. Even though it's 90 out, it hit the spot! After finishing some chores and eating a nutritious lunch (to offset some guilt), it was finally donut time. Hubby's favorite food is donuts and my family teases him to no end. He said the Boston Cream was one of the best he's ever eaten, definitely the best in Rochester. The chocolate frosted white cream is my favorite and it was very delicious (closest rival would be Paula's Angel Cream in Buffalo). Ridge definitely has two new customers. Please, for all that is good and holy, visit this donut shop/cafe. My friends and I are from out of town and we wondered over to Ridge Donut because we heard of the hype. I also checked the reviews knowing that hype doesn't always mean it's great but WOW, was I mistaken. This is very much a mom and pop shop. They have little seating and seats at the bar. You can order donuts from the counter or have table service. Each and every one of these employees were caring, sweet, and patient. Now to the donuts: I haven't had a perfectly crafted donut in such a long time and these cured me. The famous apple fritter was unbelievably fresh. I could smell the yeast. The glaze wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. The apples were real. The simple glazed had the perfect bite - not too chewy, not too greasy. Simply PERFECT. I wish I lived in the area. I'd be a regular.
