If the option was no stars, that would have been my choice. Very rude employees, and the place was FILTHY

Whenever I'm traveling for work, I'm always on the lookout for spots that have:…read more 1) Great coffee 2) Great savory breakfast bites So many coffee shops nail the first count but miss on the second (lots of pastry cases but not as much savory options). Uncommon Grounds nails it on both counts and is a great spot to get a little work done to boot. Stopped by this location when I was in the area for some coffee and breakfast. I'm usually in search of sugar free options as well as milk alternatives. Uncommon Grounds had a couple sugar free options (yay! caramel and vanilla) and a few different milk alternatives. I got a caramel latte made with almond milk and it was dreamy. For my breakfast, I got the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich on a salt bagel. It came with egg, spinach, avocado, tomato, and a bit of pesto. Delicious! The only tiny thing for me was the tomato made the sandwich kinda slippery and difficult to eat so the next time I ordered it (which was literally the next day), I got it with double the spinach and no tomato. The service was really lovely and the prices are reasonable. They're a popular spot and were pretty busy when I was in and even with that everyone was so kind and helpful. Get to it!

Service is consistently meh. Aside from a couple of very friendly staff, most visits are met with employees moving like they just woke up resulting in lines. Never bothers me because I usually go there to get a little work done, but it's not a place I'd go if I'm in a rush. Well to be fair, the airport team is always EXCELLENT. Here's my only negative. I just bought a dozen bagels and they were hockey pucks. I tried. Couldn't do it. Inedible. But weird because I usually grab a breakfast sandwich at their airport locations the they've been very good. Did I get a horrible batch? Idk? Seating is tight. I'm part of the problem. Lots of students. But I've also seen couples, friends, retirees, etc. not on any tech enjoying a long conversation with their group which I think is a plus. Solid 5 most visits, but those Clifton Park bagels were memorable in a not so pleasant way.

The sitting space if I'm being honest is kind of tight with chairs backed up against the display divider for the line/counter ordering area. The benches up against the wall opposite counter are beautiful and force good posture. There were also some window spots I'd definitely aim for next time. The counter person was delightful no complaints. Explained the drinks and didn't rush us. We came later morning on Saturday, most of the bakery items were sold out. But what we got was amazing, a nice mixture of scones, perfection. I appreciated the mixture of small morsels, it included flavors that I would not have tried otherwise. I got a cream brûlée latte as suggested classic with a hint of sweetness, standard with double shot of espresso. My wife got a mocha variety definitely much richer. The art on top was also a nice highlight. As other reviews mentioned prices were not listed but this is definitely a specialty place so expect a higher price than a pump your own coffee express station. But also I rather give my money to a local place than a huge mass marketed place thats serving half the quality.

I don't claim to be a tea expert... it is more of a novel-tea for me... but I enjoyed coming here and talking with their knowledgeable staff. Their certainly have a passion for their tea! There are lots of teas in the store... at least several dozen blends behind the counter and more in other areas... and they will make whatever you want if you provide a recipe. I lean towards fruitier or spicier teas and found a couple that were interesting enough to purchase and bring home. Because more of their teas are served loose, it isn't as simple as dunking a pouch with a string in a mug of hot water. But fear not, they have lots of various tea brewing accessories along the walls of their small shop area as well as some other interesting curiosities.

The breakfast food is incredible, typically by Tyler-- a great cook and Chef. The breakfast burrito is out of this world. (As for it Tyler's way!) the coffee and lattes are truly very high-quality, but not overly pretentious. And if you know, then you know, when a coffee shop does it up too much and their prices are astronomical. That is not this place, they balance it perfectly by having good quality beans, roasted perfectly good quality, food, and breakfast items that makes starting your day such a treat by coming here. And lastly, the kickstart name comes from the owner's being motorcycle enthusiasts. The inside decor has a really cool and funky vibe to it with really awesome artwork and even a motorcycle inside. If you're looking for coffee, shops, and decent breakfast, do not hesitate to stop here!

Unfortunately, I can't speak to their food, but I do hope to return and try some soon. The motorcycle themed cafe is beautifully decorated and creates a space that you can comfortably work in or hang out with friends and family. It's warm, welcoming and inviting. I tried their Cinnamon Mocha Latte with almond milk and it was perfection in a cup. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming, and happy to answer any questions you have. I highly recommend Kickstart Cafe!

But if I lived in Saratoga Springs, UG seems like a worthy successor. I can't comment on their vast bagel stash - poutine and fried chicken is enough for the day - or their beverages beyond the enjoyable caramel vanilla coffee. But I can praise the infrastructure. The line looked intimidating but they kept it moving. Where things are frustrating is (1) the pricing for gluten free options (2) lack of gluten free options. Patrons have to get creative to accommodate a low-glycemic index diet or a gluten free diet. Almost every single soup has gluten now a days. There was a time when soups were the only gluten free option. They've raised the price of a side of grilled chicken to $8.00, which is insane for 3 oz of chicken. That equates to roughly $32 a lb for chicken. The menu says $3.15 to "add chicken" to a salad, so I'm not entirely sure what the big deal of adding it to a bowl of soup is any different? I'm paying $6.99 for a soup and a salad is $7.25. I'm happy to pick out the pasta in the soups, but to not add chicken for $3.15 as if it were a salad is a line that is frustrating. Not a fan of the salads due to the diningware they elect to put them in. The bowls are wabbly and are often filled to the gill, so people like myself who cut their salad have difficulty enjoying their salad as it falls on the table more than staying in the bowl. Giving an honest review in hopes that ownership will take this into consideration. Finding myself coming here less as it gives me anxiety coming and trying to think of what I can actually eat.
