It's such a cute spot, with an impressive selection of baked goods at very reasonable prices. This time, I ordered the chocolate strawberry latte, and we shared a red velvet scone along with one of their unique "Nobody Asked For This" chocolate chip cookies made with roasted garlic. The latte was delicious and piping hot--perfect for a chilly day. My first bite of the garlic chocolate chip cookie had me thinking, "No," but it quickly grew on me, and I ended up really enjoying the unexpected combination of flavors. The red velvet scone was huge (perfect for sharing) and absolutely amazing, loaded with chocolate chips. Between the drinks and treats I've tried over multiple visits, Allyson A's Bake Shop has yet to disappoint. It's a must-stop whenever I'm in Mount Dora.

I know it's hard really to give high marks to a salad, but this was fresh, tasty, and a great value. I know it's a little bit out of the way, but my highest recommendations to this place. This is a tip extortion place. The lowest option was adding a dollar. I imagine this would not be the case if there were 2 windows, one for ordering, the other for pickup, but here the orders are taken by folks on foot. So my 5 dollar mocha became 6, and I was a walk up, not in a vehicle. The order takers are are often easy on the eyes, which I suspect is part of the appeal, but other times it is a sausage festival. So the expense of coffee outside the house, plus the offensive tip situation, means the place will not be in my rotation, but they seem to be doing quite well. The mocha coffee tasted good.
