Bottom line: It's a hassle for me to ask for Splenda and an even bigger hassle to think about how much I want. The biggest hassle is the employees' reluctance to depart with the "white gold". I'll go to Starbucks where the Splenda is not kept under lock and key. Like most Dunkin Donuts (and unlike other places), they are fast and efficient. What's more, is, most of the annoying customers, with their annoying twenty-five-part-orders (which barely include coffee), don't come here, so the line is actually not held up by precious people. I also like their specials, so I come in the afternoons. That said, the whole Splenda thing irks me so. I do not patronize coffee shops in order to smuggle Splenda for my stash at home and I shouldn't be inconvenienced because a few others do. I'm a bargain hunter myself, but the lengths some people go through to cut corners amazes me. Just spend the 2 bucks! That said, if--as the owner told me--people are really pocketing Splenda (I believe him), DEAL WITH IT! It's part of the hit you take as a business and surely, you are not alone unless there's an outbreak in this area (doubtful). No, I don't support pilfering at a place of business, but I'm quite sure that Splenda thieves are everywhere, including the Starbucks down the street. My point is, this is part of the cost of doing business, and I don't want to feel like I'm putting out the employees when I ask and they try to defer me (probably under instruction of the owner) to the counter where they have other low-cal sugar. Um, no. I don't want that. I know you have Splenda. I have to specify how many I want and it's a guessing game because I order different things all the time. I don't ask for extra, but if I have extra, I take them with me as my way of getting back at the greedy owner. Seriously, life is complicated enough. I don't need a hassle while I'm trying to sweeten my coffee. I'll go to another area DD or the Starbucks up the street. read more
