The atmosphere is very laid back with a large counter that faces an open kitchen for a true diner experience. So we did, walking into the place, this was in mid July and we in the area were going through a heat wave, the air-conditioning was not there, in fact, we were the only customers, I was thinking about leaving, it was border-line sticky, I decided to "stick" it out, I am so glad I did, the food is so good, I ordered two eggs over, sausage, potatoes, fries and an English. The chef there came in with some homemade strawberry jam, so good, and then the breakfast which, I am telling you is better than greasy Toast, First Watch in Hanover- nothing there, and Stevie G's in Cohasset. They share a door with a barbershop and the storefront is tiny. From what I understand, they mostly sell wholesale to other restaurants, but they open up a small window of sales to walk-in customers. When they are sold out, they are done for the day, so get there early! Now for the donuts. Delicious, delicate, and honestly some of the best I have ever had. These are not your average gas station donuts. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. But what really blew me away was the hospitality. I had already picked out 8 donuts when I was told it was cash only. I had none on me, but offered to run out and come back if she could hold my box. Without hesitation, she handed me the box and told me to pay whenever I could. She was completely serious. That kind of trust and generosity is rare and it genuinely made my day. A few things to know before you go: it is cash only, the space is small with just a few tables and chairs, and they sell out fast. But it is absolutely worth the effort. Support this business. It was late morning so some of the varieties of doughnuts they offer here were already sold out but there were still plenty of flavors to pick from. I was in the mood for something filling but simple so I went with one of their plain doughnuts. The server behind the counter was very pleasant and professional. The counter area was spotless and the floor was clean as well. There is some seating in this establishment if you would like to enjoy your doughnuts and coffee right in the shop. I took my doughnut to go and when I got home and ate it it was very delicious and satisfying. The doughnuts that they make here are very good sized and one is enough for anybody. I have had their glazed doughnuts as well before and they are just as good as the plain doughnut that I purchased during this most recent visit to the shop.
