I recently completed my CPL class and went to Dunham's to check out their selection of handguns. While asking my husband (a Marine) questions about my purchase, the salesperson numerously injected many times that "he can't chose my gun". Sorry, I value my husband's opinion over some snot-nosed rude kid who doesn't know/like his job! When I found one I liked, I was told that it was not available. The manager checked the backroom stock and verified the fact that sure enough, the tag on the gun was incorrect. We requested they order one and was told they would, then they wouldn't, then it was no longer available for purchase. By now we have the district manager involved, Leo Garcia and he told us (after numerous phone calls and several days have now passed) that he would sell me a S&W for slightly more than the original gun I was interested in and would call the store to let them know I would be in to purchase it. When we arrived, we were told that the DM never called and offered to sell me the S&W at the retail price but both of us would have to complete the paperwork!! We left, after being insulted at the accusation that I was purchasing the gun for my husband and called Mr. Garcia today. He informed me that the kid on duty "remembered my husband, completed with winter hat and coat from October when (my husband) told him he couldn't purchase a gun!" First, that is a crock, my husband would never make such a statement. Second, my husband changes his clothes more often than "never" which is what I felt was being insinuated by the comment. Third, it was in the 70s in October and my husband wasn't wearing his winter gear. In short, I am extremely disappointed in Dunham's for playing the old "bait and switch" game and then insinuating I was a liar when I wanted them to honor what I was told I would receive for being deceived by them. No wonder Dunham's has such lousy reviews overall, they have lousy customer service, lousy managers and lying district managers. They don't honor their agreements and will resort to lies to avoid keeping their word. read more
