Their kids summer camp is completely disorganized and not worth the money. Look elsewhere.

Absolutely Terrible!…read more My sister had her wedding reception at Royal Fox in June of 2012. We had high hopes, especially after the tasting and working with Jane. We were extremely disappointed. Here's a rundown of the major problems: 1. They served the wrong main entree - Yep, you read that correctly, they served the wrong food! When we brought it to their attention they told us "the wedding last week didn't want the breaded chicken, so we didn't think you would either." Ummm, what the heck does a wedding a week ago have to do with what my sister ordered? 2. They didn't have champagne at the bar, even though my sister paid extra specifically for it. When we asked the manager on duty where the champagne was we were told that we were lying about paying for it (we weren't and the contract proved that). 3. The room was WAY TOO HOT! Several guests complained about the temperature. When we brought this up, they told us it was because we had too many people in the room; however, we had at least 70 fewer people than their stated maximum. They also brought us to other sections of the club and said "see, the temperature is fine here." Again, what does that have to do with anything? The reception room was hot and they did nothing to resolve the issue at all. Overall, what was going badly was made much worse by the horrible attitude of the staff. They never once apologized and instead were defensive and made excuses for everything. I would never recommend this venue to anyone. As of today, they have not done anything in the way of an apology or compensation for the issues we experienced. The reception could have been great, but instead was frustrating, uncomfortable, and frankly, a little embarrassing. Never again. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

I trusted her judgement and everything turned out so beautiful. She was able to adapt to my last minute color scheme/flower switch and the bouquets were perfect! St. Charles Country Club was the perfect wedding venue for us! The golf course provided a beautiful backdrop for our wedding photos. We were able to comfortably fit 230 guests at our wedding. The food was delicious as well and we received many compliments. I highly recommend this as a wedding venue!!

I booked the St. Charles County Club for my wedding reception, which took place in May 2012. It was…read morethe first of three appointments I had scheduled for that day to review options in the Chicago suburbs. By the time our appointment was over, I wanted to cancel my other appointments - I was sold and didn't want to see anything else! Needless to say, we told Carla, the events manager, we wanted to book the space as soon as possible! From the beginning of our first appointment, Carla made me feel at ease and assured me that all aspects of the reception - from price to decor - would fit our needs. She was always extremely responsive via phone and email and gave me the confidence that our reception would be everything we had always imagined. In the months leading up to our wedding, Carla covered every detail and was always flexible - adding, removing or adjusting components of the reception plan to meet our requests. She gave us advice on vendors and we were extremely satisfied with all of them - particularly our cupcake favors and cake from Herbs' Bakery and our floral arrangements from Debi's Designs. I highly recommend both! The day of the wedding, Carla was PERFECT. The entire event space - and particularly the ballroom - looked absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had a recorder to remember all of the rave reviews we received from family and friends! Carla was calm throughout the entire evening and kept everything in line and moving smoothly throughout the night! I felt like she was genuinely dedicated to our event and wanted everything to be perfect. She went above and beyond in so many ways and thought of details and special surprises that never even crossed my mind. When all the guests were enjoying cocktail hour and the ballroom was closed off for dinner prep, Carla brought me in the room alone and told me to "take it all in." She reminded me that in all of the craziness of a wedding day, it's easy to forget to take a moment to let everything sink in and take a mental picture of your reception. I stayed in the ballroom for several minutes to take a look at the gorgeous room so I would remember how special everything was. I will remember that moment for the rest of my life, and I'm so thankful that Carla was thinking about those important details for me. My wedding was even more amazing than I had ever imagined. I will never forget the wonderful job Carla and her team did. I feel like she is a family friend at this point! My family loved her so much that we booked her for my sister's wedding! I would recommend Carla and the St Charles Country Club to anyone!

I am having a hard time deciding between 2 and 3 stars on this one…read more We hosted our parent's 50th anniversary celebration here. I have been to a wedding here previously as well. Let's start with the building itself. The center lobby area is nice, and includes a cozy fireplace area, a nice touch. Bathrooms seem fine to me, they were nice, and also clean the night of our event. The entrance outside could be a little nicer. The room was nice. They included table linens and chair covers which was great. The table decor is very basic so we decided to have something nicer done by Bright Designs. On a tight budget she was able to provide small but nice table florals. Food. We know food is so important. Our event included the first hour of butler passed, and I do wish I would have had trays pass by me more often. I only saw a tray two times during the hour. The crab cake isn't something I'd recommend, it sounded good but did taste like a Sam's club frozen crab cake. The rest of the evening there were several stations set, including a meet carving station, sweet table, and another table that had appetizers and a cheese platter. The meat station was nice, that was good. The sweet table looked very nice, although i didn't try much - I have never loved sweet tables with the fancy desserts, I find they are usually much prettier than they are tasty. Cake- meh. I was pretty disappointed in the cake. While it was supposed to be a smooth finish with ribbon they decided to embellish it. Also, we were planning to put some orchids on the cake to dress it up, and they took it upon themselves to decorate our cake themselves with a bunch of leftover flowers we didn't want on there. It looked rather terrible but we couldn't do anything about it - as the frosting was smooshed under the florals...so when we tried to remove them, they made a mark. Also, the flavor was very bland. It wasn't dry which is good, but just tasted like not to much of anything. Bartender was awesome, I wish I remembered her name. She was very friendly and did a great job. Overall, we had a great party. I think my hesitation between 2-3 stars comes from the only so-so food, and the cake issue. At the end of the night we still had a blast, had good music, friends and family and most important, my parents loved it!

Was at this place for a wedding reception this past Friday…read more There was another event going on & no sign to inform guests as to which was which. Going into the room, there are several "dips" in the floor. There is a small sign indicating as such, but easy to miss. I did see one person actually fall & several trip because of this. The room itself was nice. The bathrooms were not particularly clean. Toilets did not flush well. Men's had only 1 stall. Staff did not empty the garbage cans in the bathrooms, so there were paper towels, etc. all over the floor. Speaking of staff - they barely understood English - except the bartender. She was an exceptionaly nice lady! Food was good & was buffet style - plenty of it! During dinner, the power went out. I would think that a place like this out in the middle of nowhere would be prepared for such things. Thank God it came on after about an hour & the evening went on. Food impressive, but not the facility.

DOUBLE BOGEY Not…read moreeven rain could stop our foursome from enjoying a round of 9 holes at this golf club in Bartlett. For the annual "EKGs for EGK" charity event, I joined Nichole C and a couple friends for a shotgun scramble on 9/29/19. Bartlett Hills Golf Club is located just off of Route 59 & Bartlett Road in Bartlett, IL. Bartlett? BARTLETT!! It had rained heavily the previous day, so the course was soaked but our spirits weren't dampened. The sandpits became small ponds, and the small ponds turned into large lakes. Soggy greens screwed up my short game something fierce. The fairways were pretty f*cked up and many were unplayable in certain areas. Shout out to the woman with the salty language who drove the beverage cart (you da real MVP!) They had a decent selection of craft beer in cans for $5, plus the usual domestic swill, some nice imports, and even White Claw for those who hit off of the ladies' tee. The halfway house looked like it could benefit from a fresh coat of paint and other touch-ups. Course itself was of moderate difficulty, nothing too crazy. We only played half a round on the front 9, so I can't comment on the back 9 holes. Bartlett Hills is definitely more a low-key country club than challenging like Cog Hill. Afterwards, we adjourned to the banquet hall area where our group enjoyed a hot buffet, raffle, and silent auction. Food was more than decent: burgers, brats, baked beans, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and desserts. Staff were on-the-ball (golf pun for the win!) and they took great care of us throughout the event. * TL;DR * You know what they say: a bad day of golf is still better than a good day at work. Well, I've had some pretty awesome days at the office......and some damn lousy days on the links. Despite the fact that the rain really affected play (puddles would literally swallow our ball), we tried to make the best of it. I'm really glad we attended the event hosted by Tracy K -- both my fiancée and I walked away with sweet raffle prizes! In fact, our whole table cleaned up nicely with more than half of us taking something home. I'd be more than happy to come back next year, albeit in more favorable weather conditions. ((For those still not 100% sure where Bartlett Hills Golf Club is, I'm guessing it's located in Bartlett County within The United States of Bartlett. That's just a guess, though))
