Picturesque course

I had not played Dunedin in a few years but had to get on after the massive renovation. The course certainly did not disappoint! The greens are immaculate - course condition was pristine. The pace of play was very slow and even with a 1:15 tee time we came up the 18th fairway in the dark as groups were stacked up in front of us. Also, the course is trying to be premiere but hadn't installed GPS on the carts. All told, this course is in amazing shape and if tee times are properly spaced it will be an incredible golfing experience.

A little rundown. Greens are on the slow side and could use some TLC but honestly, awesome layout. Starter was awesome. Long enough from the tips for a good challenge. Amazing history. Will definitely be back next time we visit.

Not in the condition you would expect after millions of dollars in renovation and green fee of $140. Hope it gets better.

I played the course this weekend and was impressed. For $29 this course has some of the nicest greens and fairways I've seen.

We have been a member for almost 20 years and now live on the course. My husband and I both play…read moretennis and golf, our kids grew up on the swim team and two carried that experience into college. All three now play golf and one plays tennis too. We all have enjoyed the fitness center and massages & trainers are wonderful. We have enjoyed our experiences and continue to make great memories. Pasta Night has always been a member and swim team favorite on Thursday nights. The special events are like having your very own party without the hassle. Countryside is where family become friends and friends become family!

Came here for a wedding actually. As a rule I have a great distaste for country clubs because of…read morethe snoot factor. This place is no different. It has a well manicured 18 hole golf course, nine more holes (27 total) gym, two pools, tennis courts and all that. It also has a clubhouse which is the focus of my review. First off, this is the ugliest clubhouse I've ever entered. Think Little Rascals He Man Woman Hater's Club if you're that much into club houses. Ugly brown crown molding, ratty carpeting, ugly beige walls and exposed wood ceilings. The lobby looks like a mausoleum too. After the ceremony in a non cool room (idiots turned on the heat by mistake), we were sent into the reception area, which was the south room and adjoining spaces. At least they actually had on the AC in here. Open bar and passed canapés as one would expect. Some of these canapés including bacon wrapped scallops stand out because they were AWFUL!! I almost spit out the spinach pie; I should've known better when I saw them drizzled with heaven knows what. Scallops over cooked and lousy...at least there was an open bar. After two dark rum and colas, I even had enough of that; cheap lo-rent swill. Salad was simple mixed greens with a slice of cuke, some red onion and a couple of CHILLED cherry tomatoes. Well, there was the next sign that the kitchen doesn't know what it's doing. Tomatoes are supposed to be room temperature; period. Dressing stop said salad was nondescript. For entrees the Queen Bee had crab stuffed grouper and I had filet mignon. Filet was bland but had a halfway decent demiglaze with it. Queen Bee didn't care for her grouper. Everyone else at the table seemed more or less okay with it. To be fair, I didn't try the stuff. Both entrees were accompanied by overcooked asparagus and bland rice pilaf. Blech! I'm sure the wedding party paid good money for this stuff. If this is any sign of how their dining rooms are, then kindly include me OUT of this club. I'd rather graze on the grass from the 10th fairway. The desserts you see are provided by an outside bakery so nothing to say here. Not really much worthwhile or positive to say about having a function here, either. Have it at Chuck E. Cheese or a bowling alley instead! Eh!!

It was a delight to encounter employees who clearly love their jobs, and want you to enjoy your time golfing, dining or exercising. The facilities feature the most up to date technology for both golfing and exercising. There are two on site restaurants. One is a bistro style eatery, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best grits and bacon I have EVER had! The other restaurant, The Albatross, is a sexy, high end steak and seafood spot. I'd put the meals I've had there up against any famous big city dining establishment. The lodging for out of town guests may be one of my favorite amenities. The finishes, the decor, the comfort ... the luxury! There is nothing else like it in this area of Florida. Though I am not a golfer myself, I do know that the greens are immaculate enough to host an annual LPGA event. Arrived at Lansbrook GC and the parking lot was full! Everybody and there brother was here today…read more Lansbrook GC is rolling in the dough today. I walked into the proshop and checked in and the staff member was very welcoming and told me that the tee box was clear, and I could go out once I loaded my cart. I told him I wanted to play with some other player so I would wait until somebody else checked in. That took another 30 minutes or so. I used this time wisely and got to slices of mushroom pizza at the restaurant and they were really good. I don't think I took a picture of them, sorry guys. After a pretty good lunch I went and hit some balls on the driving range with we pretty full, was able to find a couple of empty spots at the end of the row. Which was a good thing since one of the female golfer on the range was suffering from heat exhaustion and I told her to please sit in my cart to get some shade. She was fine after a few minutes of resting in the shade. The range is good and I was able to warm up and get ready for another awesome day of golf. After that I putted for a few and met another player who was about to go to the first tee box. Some pros and cons. Pros: Convenient location, easy access with plenty of parking. The staff here in the proshop were welcoming and had a great sense of humor, thank for that! The golf carts seem to be newer with GPS, nice ride! The practice areas here are in good shape, putting green with adequate room. Driving range wide enough to accommodate several golfers. You are not forced to play in a foursome. Some courses love to do this, which I'm ok with, but I'd rather see it as a choice and not a requirement. The bar area is nice to have a sandwich or a slice of pizza before or during your round as well as a beverage after your round. There is also a beverage cart and saw it several times throughout the round so there is no reason to go thirsty during the day. Cons: The chipping green to work on your short game with a sand trap to utilize as well is only for members. At the turn we hit a wall, and it took 3 hours to finish, it was so painful, lots of waiting on each hole, like 10 minutes if not longer sometime with no ranger to monitor pace of play.

I called the General Manager Andy Mollerud twice and left voicemails but he did not even have the courtesy to call me back. They were not even busy as our twosome was followed by a single and no one behind him for a few tee times at least. Anytime one of our group hasn't been able to make it last minute at other courses they never charge me. On top of that, before our round finished my playing partner was very mad that the fairways were soaked and even had large puddles despite not much rain. The greens were very sandy and patchy and your ball bounced around a lot. Needless to say we will not be returning. Poor customer service combined with bad course conditions = no more visits. Don't waste your money!
