Alex and Jeremy helped us out, were super accommodating and welcoming. Jeremy also talked to us about how the helmets are cleaned (steam cleaned before going into a sanitizing oven for 3 hours) which was important to know. We hesitated on top of a dune and ended up getting stuck but we gave Alex a call and he and Jeremy came up to help us right away. When feeling a little nervous about approaching a dune, Alex and Jeremy were incredibly helpful talking to us about it too. Jeremy then demonstrated what to do when driving up to the top of the dune before going down the other side which helped us feel more at ease. Alex and Jeremy are excellent and deserve much praise. The pricing is also better compared to Spinreel too. Alex definitely seems like an experienced leader there. He and Jeremy are a great team and are professional, kind and knowledgeable. These guys are great assets to the company. Hope they are valued and appreciated! Would definitely come back to rent again on a future trip.

We opted for the 2.5 hours with 90 minutes free and it still went by so fast. The dunes are challenging and keeps you on your toes until you hit the coast which is gorgeous and a ton of fun to cruise on. A huge shout out to Dave who made the check in and out seamless and Jeremy who was on it when we got stuck after the back wheel clipped a tree on a narrower trail ( suggestion on going back to where we clipped the tree and cutting it down: evidence shows we where NOT the first person to hit that tree.....we will have to pay to have it repaired fingers crossed it won't be that much! They've got an excellent selection of parts, accessories, gear, and everything an ATV owner could want. Prices were fair and the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. The real stars of the show, though, were the shop cats--Wingnut and Spark Plug! These two are absolute legends. Wingnut is a hilarious goofball who kept me entertained, and Spark Plug is the sweetest little explorer, wandering around like he owns the place (which he probably does). They add such a fun, welcoming personality to the store. If you're in Coos Bay with your own rig or just need quality ATV supplies, Steve's is definitely worth a visit. For the tour our family was in a four seater ATV following Heidi in her two seater. We started out slow, then built up speed as the dunes changed. The ride along the ocean was breathtaking. The views from the top of the dunes, incredible. We don't own ATVs so the only way we would ever experience the dunes in Oregon is through rental. For a first time experience, it was the best. The worker, a younger gentleman,was extremely kind and helpful, running back to the store quickly when our ATV was having troubles and sticking around to make sure we were comfortable on the machines. His professionalism and kindness (especially with me, as a beginner) was above and beyond. He was very clear with safety and tips/tricks, I wish I caught his name! This employee is remarkable and I give him heaps of praise! The dunes in this area ranged from flat lands to hills, great for families just getting into riding or experienced novices. So why am I giving it a sincere four stars? Because the proprietor, Colt (CJ), has focused his efforts and investments on the right things: well-tuned ATVs and terrific customer service. Our family of total beginners rented 4 ATVs. CJ and his daughter were both working, and were as friendly as can be. Another family came in to rent, but CJ knew they wouldn't be able to park their RV trailer at the staging area due to the congestion from DuneFest; so instead of taking their money and making them deal with the inconvenience, he offered them a discount to come back tomorrow when he could find them a parking spot. For our family, it was a quick paperwork session, then a 5-minute drive over to the ATV staging area next to the dunes in Winchester Bay. We easily found a spot to park our car, and CJ walked us through how to shift, how to brake, and how to start the ATV if it stalled. We had a great time zooming around the dunes for a solid hour. The four-wheelers were in great shape and easy to ride. A solid fun family activity with our two daughters (age 14 and 16). CJ met us at the parking lot with a smile and gratitude for supporting his labor of love. I'm sure he and his daughter will continue to improve the storefront, which is why I'm leaving room for one more star! Otherwise it was a top-notch experience.

All staff are friendly and want you to enjoy your ride. They provide all the gear you will need and guide you out to the sand dunes.
