He said he always parks in the same spot. What a TREAT. A real hidden gem. As we were leaving the Sunday market and canals in L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue, we spotted this truck parked in front of the bank in the Square des Marechaux. All we noticed was a picture that said "Exotisme Garanti"... We were three social justice activists that stopped in our tracks stating, "Whaaaaat is thaat?" I mean, we realized we were in France, but still. All of a sudden, the cook lures us over... we were all speaking broken pieces of way too many languages. He started giving us samples of spicy peanut sauces, etc... we were hooked. Of COURSE we wanted fresh homemade Senegalese food. We ordered the Mafe au boef, Acras de Morue, pasteles de poisson, poulet yassa and the cocktail de gingembre (he was sold out of this, but insisted on making us a fresh batch of this fresh ginger drink). The food was SO fresh and tasty... it felt so good and comforting to put *spices* into our body. It was truly made with love. We also happened to be full for the rest of the night - SCORE. Ma-Coumbe food truck was the perfect way to end our visit to l'isle, our favorite town in Provence. That whole experience lacked the "Suburban housewife feel" that many of the other towns exuded. We will always remember this serendipitous encounter.

After finding nothing that was open or looking too appealing we decided to try Douceur Piquante. We are very fortunate that we did. Nadjatie, the woman in charge here welcomed us and brought us a wonderful house made non-alcoholic beverage that was very fresh and flavourful. Now I intended to leave this review much sooner but have been traveling. So I think I recall ordering a meatball type dish, my companion ordered an Indian inspired soup and we would trade back and forth. The food here was amazing. We found it to be so wonderfully flavourful and a nice balance of the spices and herbs used. Very fresh tasting. It was only Nadjatie working, she took our orders and prepared our meals, so the atmosphere reminded us of a home cooked meal by our mothers. Our trip in Marseille would not be remembered as fondly as it is without this woman's food. I wanted to come here each day we were here but our exploration schedule allowed for only one more meal on Friday the 19th of February 2016. This meal was equally amazing. My female companion ordered a fish based meal and I, a meat one, like pork or beef. We both enjoyed my choice better this time. On both visits we finished with a dessert she serves here. It's a Comorian cake that is made with rice flour I believe, called good good or something like that. The restaurant was busier on the Friday visit but for both we arrived eagerly right around opening time. I can recommend this restaurant as one of my absolute favourites in France. Thank you
