My friends and I were told by a local to look on this street for good non-touristy eats and this place seemed cool so we decided to check it out. It definitely had a chill, friendly vibe, from its casual/funky decor to young wait staff. We each got their prix fixe deal (about 23 euro), with starter, entree and dessert. I opted for the terrine of smoked salmon, entrecote de boeuf (basically steak frites) and the molten chocolate cake. My favorite was the smoked salmon, but the other items were pretty good too. I got to sample my friend's creamy pasta dish and it was awesome--I kind of wished I'd gotten that instead but oh well. The chocolate molten cake was great, but the coffee I got was sub-par. It was weak, almost tea-like, and strangely they'd given me one of those coffee pod things (like a tea bag)--maybe to bolster the coffee strength? I dunno, but it didn't help. That was the weirdest/worst coffee I had in France, lol. Our waiters were super-friendly and nice though so that got a pass.
Interestingly, we ended up dining here again a week later when we got back from our bike tour of Provence. We actually wanted to try a new restaurant but we didn't see anything that looked better and it was looking like rain so we had to duck in somewhere quickly. Luckily, our second experience was just as pleasant, with good food (this time I had the beef carpaccio, creamy seafood pasta and chocolate cake again--all awesome) and friendly service, but this time around the service seemed kind forgetful. We repeatedly had to request certain things and things were just bogging down toward the end. It was a little annoying but overall I'd have to say it's pretty minor considering their other merits. I'd go back if I find myself in Avignon again.
