Very disappointed with my experience here. Explained to them on the phone I had a growth directly on my neck. Was told to wait a month for an appointment. Once I got to my appointment, had to wait an hour before the doctor would see me took the doctor three minutes to explain to me that because this growth was on my neck, he would not be able to do anything for me, but all he could do is refer me to the correct doctor to see this was an incredible waste of time and an incredible waste of my resources because I had to miss work to go to this I will not be recommending. read more

Multiple issues. Never coming back again. Scheduled an appointment and made it clear that I must be seen at the scheduled time due to my work schedule. Upon arrival I re-iterated this. Had to wait 40 minutes regardless. Unapologetic staff and rude doctor who is more interested in good online reviews than providing service on time and good treatment. Child had rash, used medicine doctor prescribed and doctor tries to put blame on child by saying they didn't use medicine when it was supervised by adult. When entering a bad review on Facebook it was promptly edited by them - do not trust Facebook reviews or anything this place says. read more

I've been here twice. Once was for a small scar growth on my leg that doctor removed that day. That went on until the stitches started to swell a week later. They were supposed to dissolve but they didn't. When I came back to have it looked at, the nurse said the doc put them in too tightly and it will probably scar. Great. I'm super pale so the scar isn't so easy to spot. I'm back again for something else and I remember why I don't like coming here - the wait. At the sign in is a note that some people may go ahead of you, but when it's 30 minutes past when I was scheduled for that's insane. Time for a new dermatologist. read more

Dundee Dermatology and Dr. Getz botched a "minor" procedure that left a scar on my back. An infection also occurred and was only identified after I took the initiative to call and I came in; they took no initiative to follow up with me. Dr. Getz failed to replace / put more reinforcement strips around stitches after checking the infection and then the stitches popped without the proper support. After my stitches popped a longer time-consuming process had to be followed for 1-2 months and required me to buy special and expensive bandages that bubbled up during some attempted natural healing process and the bubbled up goo that resulted was gross for my wife to clean up and change on my back every 2-3 days when the bandages filled up and started leaking. More follow up visits were of course required because of Dundee Dermatology's mistakes. And of course "nothing could be done" for the scarred area other than applying a "scar fade" gel / ointment for months, which I did, but the gel / ointment didn't do anything to fix the problem, despite Dr. Getz saying it would work and the scars would go completely away when using it. I delayed paying my bill with Dundee Dermatology because of their own mistakes and this scar fade ointment didn't work after months of using up the scar fade gel they gave me. Then, without warning me their office sent my account to a collection agency. Office procedures used by office staff were poor, including verbal communication when written communication should be used. They also required my SSN upon initial visit and then that came back to haunt me when they sent the account to collection after their own botched procedure. The collection agency dinged my credit and now that is costing me thousands more on a mortgage refinance. I am completely upset on so many levels. I will NEVER go back there again. And everyone should know: NEVER give your SSN to a doctor's office... they are not supposed to require you to provide it. I am going to check with a lawyer to see if I can sue over the botched procedure and the SSN issue. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Getz for going on probably 15 years now, and I have always had a fantastic experience here! I first got started when biologics were nascent, and the dermatologist that I had wouldn't prescribe anything new and cutting edge for my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. She referred me to Dr Getz, and boy am I glad that she did. The old dermatologist would barely spend 30 seconds in the room with me, and wouldn't usually even look me in the face. I was impressed with the friendliness of the office at Dundee Dermatology, and with Dr Getz' manner and intelligence. Unlike the old dermatologist, Dr Getz spent time talking to me, and answering all of my questions, and never made me feel stupid for asking questions. The other benefit of the office is that they participate in many clinical trials, and I was able to not only get free medicine via the trial, but I was also paid for my time, which was a fantastic opportunity for a then college student. Fast forward to 15ish years later, and I have been through pharmacy school and I still travel 40 minutes to see the guy, because he's THAT GOOD. From a professional standpoint, he's still very cutting edge, he keeps up with his knowledge to the point where he knows much more about dermatological medications than I do, and I'm always learning from him when I visit, which I appreciate very much. Do yourself a favor and come here. Maybe you'll have to wait a bit, and I can understand that may be a hassle for some people, and possibly off putting. I still give the guy 5 stars, and I'd give him 6 if I could. Went to have a full body scan. Dr. Getz is congenial and polite. I wouldn't call him especially thorough. He noticed a spot he was concerned about. It was totally downhill from there. The tech who took a biopsy sample never said one word to me. Punctured the spot. Then couldn't stop the bleeding. She then got another person to help her. They then cauterized the area. I got to smell burning skin and watch smoke come off of the spot. For both procedures, the tech did NOT give me any anesthetic. Just gunt through it. I needed a copy of Dr. Getz's notes. In his notes, it was written that the tech DID give me an anesthesia. My wife was in the room to verify I wasn't given anything. Want to enjoy pain? Go there. Today, I called to complain about the issue. Told that the office manager would get back to me. 8-1/2 hours later, I haven't heard a thing. I'm waiting for the statement from Medicare to see if they charged them for the anesthesia. If they did DD is going to get a not so nice phone call. AVOID unless you like pain. read more

Dundee Dermatology was recommended to me because they are "friendly". Don't be fooled by their smiles. First, I waited over 45 minutes in the waiting room past my appointment time. Second, they are outrageously expensive. I had 4 little moles removed and it cost me over $425 dollars. You can go to Derrick and get 5 removed for $100 but, of course, I had no idea how expensive it was going to be because they would not discuss their pricing with me beforehand. Now I know why. And third, they are dishonest. They told me I had to pay in full at the time of my procedure because my moles were cosmetic. I paid the outrageous fee of $249 for the mole removal and then 6 weeks later got a bill for $181 for the office visit. Unless you have very deep pockets, please do your homework on dermatologists before choosing Dundee Dermatology. read more

Find out when they are not busy. I had to wait 1+ hour to see the dermatologist. First time I went the doctor saw me for 5 minutes told me that I had a hereditary condition and then handed me a brochure and got up. I pestered him with questions the whole way back then started asking the nurse questions as it was a shock and there was very little explanation or communication about something that would stick with me long term. the second time I came was better-45 minute wait and the doctor sat down and explained more which was great-however my concerns were swept away with a that's just how it goes answer. I do not feel that my concerns were heard or taken seriously. I went to my drugstore and got a fuller and better explanation of the medicine and other options, as well as possible answers to my original concerns. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Jain's for a few years now. I first discovered the office in 09 when I broke out badly due to stress & used my insurance directory to locate several derms in the area. I called each office with some questions and initially their flexible hours and next available appointment was the reason I selected Dundee Derm. When I arrived for my first appointment, I was glad to find how close it was to my then employer. I was also impressed by the size and decor of the office and even more so as I grabbed two postcards at the front desk & read up on the bios of both Dr. Jain and the lead derm, whose name escapes me at the moment. While the lobby was pretty full, it was large enough to comfortably accommodate everyone sans crowding & my wait was not very long. Dr. Jain sympathized with my need to clear up my skin asap as I had a presentation the following day & had requested cortizone shots along with her suggested regimen of Retin-A, Benzaclin & Spiro. She objected to administering the shots because of the risks involved that could lead to disfigurement. My former derm, Dr. Breadon was a pro at giving the shots & at that moment, I had so wished I could transpose myself to her office & get my shots already! Besides that, Dr. Jain was polite, thorough and my visit was quick but precise. Her regimen worked as my skin cleared within a reasonable time despite not getting the shots. She gave me some free samples but didn't push any products. This somewhat surprised me considering they have an on-site spa in the office so I expected a few suggestions though didn't mind not receiving any. I picked up a spa menu on my out anyway. I've seen Dr. Jain a few times since then & will definitely return in the future if need be. They're also very good about calling pharmacies for prescription refills should you run out before your next appointment. Dr. Jain was on vacay once & her office was still able to get in touch with her to have my issue resolved. read more

I called Dundee Dermatology and asked what insurance plans they accepted but since they have never heard of my insurance company they did not bother to even look into my insurance plan. As a new customer at least take the time to review my information and look into my benefits then determine if your office will accept the terms or not. (My company does not use in/out network) I have been with my insurance company for three years and have never had any problems seeing any doctors or specialists around this area. I have been told by doctors that billing and collecting payment from my company is really easy. The process was as easy as calling my insurance company and getting the paperwork faxed with all the necessary information. The person on the phone did not seem to care about my business simply because she was unfamiliar with my insurance company. I have worked at a doctors office before and that is exactly why you have a staff member that knows what do in theses cases. This office must not be in need for new patients. read more

What a joke. Came with my wife, to have her mole removed. She pays $25 for our copay we go into the room. (Now granted everything was prechecked insurance everything weeks a head of time) The Doctor sits down and tells us we can remove it but it may or may not be covered so make sure you call your insurance first. Then says thanks and have a good day and leaves. Uhm...so what did we pay $25 for? YOU were supposed to call my insurance and authorize it thats what my visit was for???? Why would I pay for an appointment for you tell me to call my insurance and check with them? WTF is that Paul Gatz the Doctor is an idiot, he literally did nothing and all he did was tell us to call our Doctor. They then all ganged up on us about giving us our money back. Place is an absolute joke. Joanne the administrator is supposed to call us back about our money, and i highly doubt she will. How you pay money for an appointment for them to tell us to call insurance is out of my mind. The other reviews are accurate - this place has the worst wait time I've experienced anywhere, in any industry, not just physicians' offices. I've visited Dundee Dermatology 4 times. My shortest wait time was 45 minutes; my longest (the most recent and final time I had an appointment) was 2 hours. Two HOURS. None of the staff is the least bit apologetic of the wait, either, so don't expect any communication once your appointment time comes and goes. As much as I enjoy reading back issues of People magazines from 18 months ago, I have better things to do with my time and will be finding another dermatologist. The only reason I've given this place two stars is because it is clean and they return phone calls with questions and options for treatment, which I appreciate. read more

If I could provide a negative rating I would. I found these guys via the Cigna insurance plan I am a part of. My 14 year old daughter has issues with acne and since she was on spring break I called their office over lunch... and was offered an immediate 1:10 appointment. This worked as I had a 90 min open slot between calls where I could run her over. We arrived early to fill out registration and patiently sat waiting for the appointment. 1:10 came and went. At 1:30 I inquired and was told "soon". At 1:40...now 30 mins after my appointment a girl comes out to bring us to an exam room. I asked how quickly we would see the doctor...she said I don't know....maybe 20 mins or so. This would put us at almost 50 mins later than our appointment....that is if the doctor was not further delayed.... Suffice to say, I was upset. I told them I had a meeting and needed her to be seen right away. I was told that the doctor had other clients ahead of me and he may need to do additional procedures so they were unsure how quickly we would be seen. We left the office and frankly will not return. In this day and age, doctor office arrogance and their complete disregard for patients schedules is appalling. Not once did an office person update us on the delay. Not once did the two receptionist and groups of clinicians acknowledge us during our wait other than to fill out registration. They had plenty of time to goof off and tell stories. Not once did they explain to us proactively they are running behind... Let alone ask if our schedule would allow for a later exam. For that reason, I give Dundee Dermatologist one star....if I could I would give them negative stars. Lack of respect for their clients time and schedule is inexcusable. read more

I came to this place with a Pscoriasis skin problem. I have been to numerous skin Drs. and have spent a lot of $ trying to get it under control. This is the only place that has been able to help me. Dr. Getz is a great Dr. And his staff is very polite and friendly. I have been going to Dundee Dermatology for well over a decade now. Every single staff member has always treated me respectfully and professionally. The doctors are extremely experienced and knowledgeable. Before going to Dundee Dermatology I thought my condition was going to debilitate me for the rest of my life. As far as I'm concerned, they gave me my life back! I've never posted reviews until today, but the bad reviews here seemed to be very misleading. Especially, when I read a review about how they were willing to accommodate a last minute appointment, but don't jump fast enough because they are giving other patients the attention they deserve. read more

I went into Dundee Dermatology for an appointment for hives. I should mention I am on GF diet and suffer from various other allergies. I have been taking zertec at bedtime for two years. I had appointment with Dr. Campbell for 11.00 am I arrived at exactly 11.00 am and being a new patient had paperwork to fill out. Only at this office it was done on tablet which was difficult to type on. I was finished around 11.10 am and told that because I was late for my appointment - the Dr. was going to lunch and asked if I would wait an hour. No problem. So an hour later I get called into the office and address my concerns to nurse. Without sounding rude, I noticed Dr. Campbell's face and I was a little alarmed. I myself get Botox; however, this was above and beyond. I tried not to form any preconceived notions being female myself, and told her my issues. I showed her my rash and wanted her to see that one side of my face was puffy. She told me I was aging and handed me a DVD about Sculptra and told me all the Hollywood Stars have it. (That is not true). I told her I went online and thought my puffy one-side face was an allergic reaction. She Bi-op one of the rash spots and told me to double my zertec and even add Allegra in the morning. I questioned that and she said it was safe. She also said she thinks I have dermagraphia. Which are lots of histamines in the body. She told me to make appointment for two weeks and I did just that. I told receptionist that I need two week appt. She asked if I need to see Dr. as well when I come back. I told her I wasn't sure - so she got up from her desk and left. Came back and scheduled my appointment for two weeks on a Sat. I went back on Saturday after thanksgiving still suffering from itching, rashes and puffy face and now I have stomach cramps and chills. I was told that Dr. Campbell isn't in on Saturdays but wants to see me on Tuesday. Why was my appt made for today? I am here now? They said they could take my stitches out - but I would have to pay co-pay (which is 50.00) to see Dr. Getz. This is supposed to be a follow up visit to get my stitches out? But they told me since Dr. Campbell not there- (right. Got it.) So I paid 50.00 co-pay and said I cannot come back Tuesday - can he give me my results. Really? I would probably get charged another co-pay. I couldn't come back Tuesday because I had schedule conflicts and not to mention the area bi-op itchy and now even more rash. Plus, they said they had my results and made it sound serious. That Dr. Campbell personally wanted to go over them. Okay, so I get my stitches out during all this- put back in waiting room and then they call me in for Dr. Getz. I explain to Dr. Getz I just had stitches out and he wasn't listing. He pulled the dressing and said what is this - I said that is the area that was bi-op I told him I had rash on my arm and chest. He wasn't interested. He told me to drop my pants. I told him I didn't have rash on any parts of my legs. I felt a little uncomfortable would like to think he would had given me a gown and left room if I agreed. He then pulled up bed bugs on his computer and told me I had bed bugs. I told him I have had allergies and went to ER over two years and was told that I had chiggers (another misdiagnosis) and I am certain this is a reaction to food. I told him I had my husband check for bugs at that time and he never had bites. Dr. Getz said that bed bugs can live in walls. I came home and called Orkin. They are open on Saturdays. I explained my concerns and they scheduled inspection for Monday. On Monday Orkin came out and searched bed casing - and told me that there is no sign of bed bugs. I said that the Dr. said they could live in walls. Orkin said that is true, but they are called bed bugs for a reason. They are in your bed and they will leave proof. Fecal Matter, eggs... Orkin asked how long I had bed. I said 6 years. Yep. No bed bugs. I had a call in to Dr. Getz office and Monday night a rude lady named Patty called me back. She didn't believe me when I told her I had Orkin out and wanted me to fax her proof. I also told her I scheduled appt with my primary dr. and she said not necessary and for me to have Dr. Campbell call me and was very insistent. (Probably wanting to know if I was getting the sculptra). Patty asked me what did I say when I made appointment (to get stitches out). She asked if I told the girl if I needed follow up with Dr. Campbell. I told her that I wasn't sure and receptionist got up from her desk and walked away and came back and scheduled (on that sat) Patty made it sound like my responsibity that the scheduling mistake was made. On the positive side.... this facility is very nice inside. The receptionist was professional and helpful, wait time was about 20 minutes.......but then the experience went totally down hill for me. Dr. Getz was the physician who saw me. I found him very unprofessional. He was at times condescending, arrogant and even sarcastic. There is no end to the unprofessionalism and disregard for patients time at this office. First and foremost, the receptionists are both rude. They do not greet you, but instead tell you to "sign in." Then they can't be bothered to let you know if the doctor is running behind in schedule, which, he ALWAYS is. I find it confusing that this office needs TWO receptionists to not just sit there and do nothing, but to also be rude to the patients. I have been to this office for multiple reasons over many years and this aspect has gotten WORSE, not better. Also, the wait times for appointments are ridiculous. My latest one was 50 minutes, where I ended up leaving without having the appointment. I will not be returning to a facility where not only I am made to feel unimportant, but also my time. read more

Bad experience! Waited an hour past my appointment time to be seen. Almost walked out. Total disregard and no apology for running late. Had a cyst removed on my back. Doctor put a flimsy bandage on the wound and sent me on my way. When I got home, I had blood drips on my clothing from the poor bandage job! Also tried to hard sell me acne medication that was not part of my concern for making an appointment. I don't have acne! Will not return here ever. read more

Susan Mosher in the last week Recently visited Dr. Getz with my daughter who is 19 years old and suffers from moles, acne, and eczema. We made an appointment to have Getz look at her moles and a rash on her face. He was quick to dismis the moles as not a problem (both large and different colors) and spent time diagnosing her rash on her face. He prescribed a medication with tetracycline and when I asked about the side effect of being in the sun, he laughed at me as though there were none. This was a strong drug with many side effect that were not discussed with the patient, my daughter. It is also a photo sensitive drug as I told him it was. After two days of taking this drug, she had bad headaches and joint pain. He later prescribed a topical ointment. It was a few days later his office staff called to discuss they would be happy to assist Mandy in her mole removal and dermatology needs but without her mother. They also asked her at the time if she was on speakerphone in order for the conversation to be not heard from me. . She then told them that it was extremely rude of them to make those comments about her mother and she would seek care from a different doctor. read more

Both my wife and I have been there on multiple occasions, and each time we have had the same problem- inept, arrogant, incompetent staff. The doctors themselves are OK once you are able to get in to see them, but don't expect ANY communication, follow ups or call backs after your appointment. Once you are out of there, they could care less. I had a problem, was diagnosed by the doctor, and was given meds. After three days the meds still weren't working, and so I called on a Thursday afternoon and left a message for my doctor. They said she was busy with patients so I asked for her to call me back. At 4:30 PM I called again and they said the doc had left for the day. I called again Friday AM, and same thing- busy with patients, so I left another message. I called again Friday PM, and they said doc had gone! I left a message for the medical staff saying it was imperative that I get a call back because I was in pain. Well the doc was off on Monday and I got a call back Tuesday afternoon. I chalked this up to perhaps a new office person having a bad day, and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Silly me, I sent my wife to them. What happens? She has a skin problem, sees the doc who gives her meds. A week later the meds stop working and her condition starts to worsen. We call the office on Friday morning, and they said the doc was busy with patients and to leave a message for the medical staff. We left a message on the voicemail stating my wife UNCOMFORTABLE AND IN PAIN, and needed to speak to the doctor right away. So what do you know- the doc leaves without calling us back! Same thing that happened to me, but with a different doc! Now my wife is suffering the entire weekend until some inept admin either decides to check the messages, or the doctor decides that they have played enough rounds of golf and should call some patients back. Either way, this place has a history of not calling people back, not relaying messages to doctors and staffing the office with arrogant, inept, negligent help. Either that or they could care less about their patients. Either one is not good. Buyer Beware! ------------- UPDATE*** 5/1/2011---------- Well we finally got a call back from Dr. Getz, who prescribed three different things for my wife's condition (guess work), and it sounded like he didn't have a clue who she was and what he had previously diagnosed. So he said he called in the prescriptions to our local pharmacy. The next day, I get a voicemail from Dr. Getz stating that he READ OUR ONLINE REVIEW here, and decided to CANCEL OUR PRESCRIPTIONS. He then said we should find another doctor. So this doctor is so juvenile, egotistical and vindictive that he is willing to penalize his patients and allow them to suffer because he doesn't like people telling the truth about him and exposing his negligent care on the internet. If I get any kind of an invoice from his office for services rendered, I will be looking for a medical malpractice attorney. What kind of a doctor does that??? read more

I needed a new derm since I moved, and found this one on here... I was a little hesitant due to the other reviews, but I'm glad I took the chance. The check in process was on a touch screen and was easy to follow. I did get there early and still did have to wait about 10 minutes (after my appt time) to get called back, but that's nothing compared to a lot of offices. The assistant was very helpful and genuinely nice and asked me some questions. Dr. Getz came RIGHT IN after she left. He was very knowlegable and talked to me about some issues I've had since I was a teen, gave me good information. Quick, but didn't feel rushed at all. Unfortunately my husband and I were patients at this facility for many years. I recently was notified of an unpaid bill and hit with a debt collector bill on top. Turns out this facility had the wrong address and it was their mistake. This bill was over a year old and they did not think to look at our records for the correct address. The address they had was over 10 years old even though they had all the current phone numbers. We were never notified from their office or asked of a current address.As a result I had to pay for an additional debt collector bill even after they acknowledged it was their mistake. Well we finally got a call back from Dr. Getz, who prescribed three different things for my wife's condition (guess work), and it sounded like he didn't have a clue who she was and what he had previously diagnosed. So he said he called in the prescriptions to our local pharmacy. The next day, I get a voicemail from Dr. Getz stating that he READ OUR ONLINE REVIEW here, and decided to CANCEL OUR PRESCRIPTIONS. He then said we should find another doctor. So this doctor is so juvenile, egotistical and vindictive that he is willing to penalize his patients and allow them to suffer because he doesn't like people telling the truth about him and exposing his negligent care on the internet. If I get any kind of an invoice from his office for services rendered, I will be looking for a medical malpractice attorney. What kind of a doctor does that??? read more

Always have to wait at least 20 minutes for the Dr to see you for 5minutes. He doesn't explain, recommend advice, ask if you have any questions, or even say good bye when he walks out. His receptionist is just as rude. It takes forever to get an appointment. I will never go back or recommend Dundee Dermotology. read more
