Came here on a Friday with a dear friend and this is the first place that comes to mind for soup dumplings in Miami as there aren't too many here in SoFlo. Aside from the dumplings, they serve a nice variety of items such as noodles, fried rice, soups, individual entrees, boba tea, and some others. For soup dumplings, we ordered the Shanghai Style Steamed Dumplings. They're savory, hot, fresh, and made to order. Equally as good were the Chicken Fried Dumplings which were crispy, yet soft, on the inside. We also ordered a delicious Braised Pork Rice. The pork was very tender and somewhat fatty on some parts, but it kind of added flavor to it as well. The Green Onion Cake is a nice snack/appetizer that is quite crispy and served alongside an accompanying dipping sauce. It's delicious and a pretty filling portion on its own. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. In total, we ordered 4 items which was much more than enough for the both of us. We took some home. It's really nice to be able to order a variety of quality dishes here aside from the dumplings. That alone is a good reason for return visits. And finally, Dumpling King would be more awesome-err if they started selling alcoholic beverages. I really wanted a beer on this Friday night at the very least. This made me a bit sad. I found this place on accident while looking for someone to grab a quick bite in between seeing clients in the community. The reviews looked great so I stopped in and I have to say, the reviews are right! This place is small but has big flavor! I only ordered the egg drop soup and the fried chicken dumplings but I would love to come back and try more. The portions were very large for the price and everything tasted fresh. Not so Hidden Gem, The Dumpling King in North Miami. Located in a nondescript small plaza next to a Burger King. Fried dumplings, steamed and boiled. They have soup dumplings you eat with a soup spoon, many people enjoy, some fried rice selections that looked tasty, entrée portion noodle soups, and a small entrée selection. For me, dining alone; I ordered the pork fried dumplings. They were huge! Ate four took home the other four. Good value for $10. Scallion pancake was okay, a bit of a miss, next time I would opt for a small wonton soup. General Tso's chicken was fresh with chucks of chicken, they made the spice mild+ per my request, it had a good kick, at about my limits, it came with a side of white rice. The secret is out because 80% of the tables were full on a Wednesday. They're closed Tuesday and open till 8:30pm most nights. read more

This is the best spot to get those dumplings in Miami. As I looked at the menu then soo much joy filled my heart. I came in here for the soup dumplings. I miss those dumpling from my travels and current area does not offer. Coming to Miami this was a hidden gem. We tried both soup dumplings on the menu Shanghai Soup and the crab and pork dumplings( came here on two occasion so had the chance to try both) no preference on these items. Both of these were delicious! On the steamed dumplings got to try the chive, shrimp and pork and the string bean and pork dumplings. My fav out of these two is the shrimp and pork. Primarily because I think I like the more meaty flavor in it. The next thing to enjoy is the noodle soups- Beef soup with baby bok choy. The staff here are also very helpful and work with you on recommendations. The soup dumplings do take a little longer, but be patient. They are worth the wait. My one and only complaint: Why don't you guys sell alcohol? *Cries* Okay, now that I got that out of the way - this is the closest to perfection you can come across foodwise. Dumpling King is deserving of its name. Its dumplings reign supreme and thus are king! Mind you, this place isn't just dumplings. They have appetizers, rice and noodle dishes, and of course dessert. We tried four dishes and had them family style (which is the norm here): 1) Chicken fried dumplings: Huge. Each piece looked like a sausage. Not even kidding. Immense and so full of flavor. 2) Shanghai style soup dumplings: This is what I came for. Just taking a bite made every single bit of traffic worth it. Sweet dreams are in Shanghai style. 3) Green onion cake: Where have you been all my life? This and its accompanying sauce might have been "The One" I've been searching for. Yum. 4) Braised pork rice: Tender, oh so tender. A bit of pork and some rice and you'll find yourself thinking it's heavy and heavenly all at once. We met some friends here for lunch. It is a modest space at the end of a strip mall. The food is homemade, very reasonably priced, ample sized and very good. The soup dumplings were delicately spiced and some of the best I've ever had. The pan fried dumplings were big l, very crispy on one side with moist, ample filling. OK this is one of my favorite places to eat not only North Miami, but South Florida so far. The food here is consistent, comes out fast, and is fairly authentic and flavorful. The soup dumplings are a tad expensive, so I would skip out unless you're really craving. The braised pork bowl reminds you of home-cooked meals, and the hot dip is super spicy so beware. I've also had the noodle soups, which are OK! I appreciate this unassuming hole-in-the-wall spot amongst all the "asian" places in FL this is one of the best. I can't believe there is a place we are actually able to order soup dumplings. I feel that the soup dumpling is comparable to the ones in New York City! I was recommended here by family and we decided to come here for a snack. We did not have to wait and was seated right away. We ordered 4 orders of the regular soup dumplings. They came out fresh and steaming hot! It was very delicious and soup wasn't too salty. it was perfect for my taste! They do offer another food on the menu also. Service was okay we got our food, ate, paid, and left! Place isn't very pretty, it is like a whole in the wall where you don't want to put your hands on table. I love me a good mom and pop type of shop and i love me soup dumplings! I went here with my boyfriend and his family and it was a perfect family friendly place i love that they serve on those red asian plates too. The service was decent too. But if you go definitely go try out the soup dumplings! I wasn't gravitated to the pan fried ones though but still worth ordering especially with the sauces they give you. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS PLACE. Please only try the two soup dumplings (Shanghai and the crab ones) because if you try any other dishes, you will be disappointed. I promise you that. For 10ish dumplings, you get the best juice in the whole wide state of Florida. Usually the soup dumplings I've tried in Orlando are sour but this? This is very similar to what they give you in NYC. Of course nothing beats NYC soup dumplings but I'll take it. We wanted to be full so we made the mistake of ordering black bean noodles, pineapple shrimp fried rice, the special fried rice, general tso chicken and wonton soup. The black bean noodles were super salty. The pineapple shrimp fried rice itself was hard to eat.it was like the rice wasn't finished cooking. Out of all the rice, I felt that the special fried rice was softer to eat. The wonton soup is not high quality like how they make their soup dumplings so do your tummy a favor and not get the wontons. Just a heads up: this is NOT a dim sum place.its just a place with very high quality soup dumplings. PRO TIP: if you want to know the best way to eat these beautiful soup dumplings: place the dumpling (without breaking it) on your soup spoon. Then bite a small hole on the side so all the hot steam gets out as well as slowly slurp the juice inside. Then once you finished, eat the whole thing! Each order came with 8 GIGANTIC dumplings. The portion sizes are huge. Between my fiancé and I, we finished the Mapo tofu and half of our order of dumplings (one soup dumpling and one steamed pork dumpling). The service was so fast. We got our Mapo tofu dish in literally 2 minutes. Literally. Then our dumplings a few minutes later. I've been here a few times. The very first time was amazing, but over the years I've feel like the cleanliness, ambience, and service has gone down. I will say though they definitely took COVID seriously and appreciated the measures they took keep themselves and customers safe. While I will never go back to eating inside, my family and I continually order take out. They have good lunch specials and my favorite thing to order is the spicy filet, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, and the chicken steamed dumplings. Their prices are decent, and the food is great. It's a super lowkey spot in a strip mall, and I've heard it can get pretty busy, but I went for an early lunch on a Sunday and it was pretty much empty! Parking in a lot right in the strip mall. A good little dim sum/Chinese spot with SOUP DUMPLINGS. You read that right- SOUP DUMPLINGS. I first heard of these delectable bites from a friend that went to NYC and raved all about them. Unfortunately, I'm not going to the Big Apple soon so I looked for other ways to satisfy this craving. A Yelp searched later, I came across Dumpling King. I actually ate here by chance because friends that came into town were craving it. It did not disappoint! Although a little messy to eat, I enjoyed every last bite of it. It's about $10-$11 for 8 pieces. And they are quite generous pieces in comparison to normal dumplings. (All that soup) My friends also ordered their fried chicken wings. If you like a classic Chinese fried chicken wings, these are IT! They're pretty standard Chinese fried chicken but that's what makes them so good. Dumpling King in North Miami Beach is by far and away the best. They live up to their name as KINg of dumplings. This photo is the Shanghai soup dunpling. I had the other dumplings with very different ingredients than the usual Chinese restaurant. Usually serve 8 or 10 dumplings per serving. One serving is enough fir a full meal. WOW those are the best soup dumplings you'll ever get in south florida. Now I am a flushing Queens soup dumpling veteran. It was our go to date night option (Joe Shanghai, IYKYK). This place is not that, but very close!! The soup dumplings are still too doughy but better than most places that "claim" to sell soup dumplings. This place is missing the ginger in the dumpling sauce and the metal tongs - otherwise very, very close. Fried rice was good, and I could've done without the bubble tea. Coming back here is a MUST. I have been coming to this spot since it was Shing Wang (6+ years ago?). There has NEVER been a time when I was disappointed by the service or food, which is huge for me being that I'm usually picky with both. For the prices, you can easily have a memorable meal and be really satisfied. I'd suggest for your first time ordering their soup dumplings, green onion cake, and share the beef spicy dip. Anytime our car needs service at Toyota of North Miami, Larry S. always volunteers to go as he enjoys exploring the dining options close by. When he took the car in last month, he discovered the Dumpling King. Since then, he's been back 5 times. He keeps inventing errands that will take him to the area just so he can indulge in the dumplings! I finally tagged along last night and was rewarded with dumpling delights! Our order consisted of the vegetable fried dumplings, the scallion pancake, an order of chicken wings and the seafood udon. Scallion pancake - VERDICT: Disappointing! When I was a kid, the local Chinese restaurant had a scallion pancake that was so good, my family still talks about it 30+ years later whenever Chinese food is consumed or discussed. It's a yardstick by which all Chinese restaurants are measured. In fact, just last month I got together with a friend from high school and the topic of this scallion pancake came up! So, my bar is high for this particular item and I thought there was not nearly enough scallion, plus it was a little greasy and heavy. However, we took the leftovers home and it improved as it sat. Chicken wings - VERDICT: Larry S. liked them. I did not partake Seafood Udon - VERDICT: Perfection! Delicious, sesame scented broth, excellent noodles and plenty of seafood. Vegetable Fried Dumplings - VERDICT: Excellent! These dumplings are HUGE and the wrapper is very thin, giving a good filling-to-dough ratio. I'm not sure what was in the filling, but it was very green and very fresh tasting. The flat bottom of the dumpling is perfectly crisped, while the rounded top remains soft. The menu is very pork-focused (pork forward? pork positive?), so I cannot give it 5 stars, but there is enough on the menu for those that avoid pork. I was a little disappointed because a lot of items looked so good until pork was introduced. Oh well... Other points to note is that service is very friendly and they have an excellent selection of hot sauces and oils. And of course, the pricing is spot on! This place is a real gem! read more

Dumpling King is one of those rare hole in the wall Restaurants that actually transports you to another place. In this case, you are transported to Hong Kong for an authentic Chinese dumpling meal. I have sampled most of the menu over the years, and the true stars are the dumplings and the soups, followed closely by the Boba teas. In my opinion, the best two dumplings to order are the fried pork and the soup dumplings. Be careful not to burn yourself if you order the soup dumplings, they are full of piping hot soup. This is THE spot for authentic Chinese in Miami. Their Shanghai-style pork soup dumplings are INCREDIBLE and comparable to ones I've had in NYC.
