Not sure if she still owns it, but the ambience is not the same as it was years ago. There were two girls working the checkout and both of them were neither friendly or inviting. I am fluent in Spanish and since they didn't know they they just glared at my daughter and myself. The one girl kept giving my 12 year old daughter dirty looks. My daughter is half Mexican and clearly looks Mexican so if anything she should have been giving me the looks and not a child. These two women were also rude to the Spanish man in front of me. Don't know if I will return simply because these two women should not be working with customers. It's hard enough to go into stores where you don't know if the people speak English or not but I had no need to show that I speak Spanish fluently because they were so rude. The store offers a wide array of the usual Mediterranean and middle eastern food goods, imports, grocery, fresh meat, frozen items, cheeses, labneh, yogurt (Greek style, Lebanese, others), fresh pondered coffee beans, coffee/eat kettles, kitchen ware, pita bread bags, candy, and all the known lovely sweets (baklava, warbaat, katayef, etc). They also sell pre-packaged assorted baklava sweets, as well as imported sweets. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is very friendly and she always tries to accommodate the kitchen needs especially when it comes to fresh meat, poultry, lamb, etc. Cleveland/Akron area has a number of similar stores, but this one serves Tallmedge and Akron area which helps since there are not too many similar stores directly nearby in Tallmedge and south Akron area. On a delivery, I drove by the Seven Grains sign on SR261 near Tallmadge Circle. I went off the clock immediately after the drop-off and scooted back. For me, gluten free is not a choice--- I have celiac disease. I spend most of my life politely declining dessert rather than explain. We get sick of hearing "it's only a little bit of gluten!" "I made it! Try it it's good!" If I could eat cake and bread without suffering, I gladly would. It's not personal: it's an autoimmune disease. Places like Seven Grains make life a happier ride. For me, the 5th star hinges on grab and go options.
