I have fond memories of my grandfather asking to be taken to the mall even until he was old, just to have his favorite snack or dessert. He would ask us to go with him when he would drive by Ferino's for bibingka, the store along Gilmore selling kakanin, or the long-gone store by the corner of Santolan with a cute striped canopy selling homemade sweets. One of his favorites that I continue to enjoy to this day would be Dulcinea.
Aside from their good selection of Spanish favorites like the paella, callos, albondigas and gambas, Our all time favorites include their sansrival, mocha cake with honey crunch on top, and my all time favorite churros. Their churros has remained crunchy and golden brown on the ridges, with a soft center, shaped in a teardrop, and served with a rich chocolate dip. If I fancy something quick and easy to eat on-the-go, I grabe a piece (or tow) of their yema balls which are little yellow pieces of rich, creamy heaven. read more
