Duke's Pad Thai | National Dish of Thailand with chicken
Thomas B.

Five of us ate here over the holidays and we were truly not happy with the food quality Food temperature was only warm and we didn't appreciate that our entrees all were delivered at different times. There are better Thai restaurants in the area that we will frequent.

Drunken Noodle

Solid spot to meet my Thai craving. Items ordered: Drunken Noodle (pictured) Pad Thai Red Curry All of these dishes were amazing and flavorful without too much heat. I added heat to mine but the people I was with did not want their dishes too spicy. Service was friendly and food came out quick even on a busy Saturday evening. The portions are I would say "just enough" but are balanced out by the cheaper price. If you have a big appetite my advice would be to get an appetizer or the bang bang shrimp tacos on the side :)

Messy Fries

Duke's Pad Thai continues to be the go-to whenever family or friends are in town. The drunken noodles are full of flavor. The messy fries is still one of our favorites, but wished there was more on the fries to evenly distribute.

Pho

I have been sick and was dying for some Pho. I know, Duke's is a Thai place, but I didn't know of anywhere else with Pho! I had gotten their pad thai in the past and liked it so thought I would give it a whirl. The space is set up to where you walk up, order, and set down. Very clean and the staff were kind and immediately greeted me. I had no problem quickly grabbing my pick up order. Online I had selected that I wished for cutlery to be included, and alas when I got to my next destination it was not packed in my to go order. Not the biggest of deals, but a slight disappointment. I wish the staff had just directed me to grab cutlery on my way out if I wanted it. The portions were pretty big (see pics below). The pad Thai was just as good as I remembered- tons of flavor, peanuts, crispy shoots, and well cooked chicken. I do find it strange they put lemon instead of lime slices, but perhaps this is more standard and I'm just used to "americanized" thai. Now, the pho..... where to begin. The portion was large, but otherwise I found it incredibly disappointing. The chicken was dry, the broth had minimal flavor, and it was topped with raw onions. Totally unlike any pho I have ever had. I also didn't note any basil (by flavor or appearance of toppings) but found cilantro in abundance. Again, topped with a lemon slice instead of lime. I will not be ordering this ever again nor do I suggest anyone else do. The pad Thai I will be coming back for.

menu....a LOT of choices!

Simple ambience, quick service, tasty food.....perfect for a quick weekend lunch. We tried veg red curry with tofu, pad thai with tofu and thai soy sauce noodles. They have bunch of options, you place the order at the counter and the food is brought to the table. We asked the food to be spicy, I asked level 4 out of 5 and it wasn't spicy. They also have condiments of chili oil, sriracha etc so that helped amp up the spice level. Definitely worth a try if you are in this area.

We found this place during our trip to South Carolina. This was a really good thai food place. I was a fan of the pad see ew and the tacos. The food and service was great! I love how they have a tea/drinks place next door that is connected so you can order some drinks while you wait for your food. I highly recommend if you're in Columbia, SC!

Awesome little find in Casey, South Carolina. Some of the best asian in town. Fast and friendly service in a cool clean environment.

Wontons

Solid street food from Duke's. There are some classic dishes (Pad Thai, curry, spring rolls, dumplings) and also some fun twists like Thai tacos. Our group tried a little bit of everything -- there was so much food, we couldn't even finish it. My favorites were the tacos, curry, and chicken wontons. Don't know that I'd run back the next time in Columbia, but it's a solid spot that I'd visit occasionally if I lived there.

I tried Duke's Pad Thai and sampled a few dishes: the pad thai, pad see ew, dumplings, and chicken egg rolls. Overall, it was a good experience. I have lots of Thai food and really enjoy it. The pad thai was definitely the standout; it was a great balance of sweet and sour. I like the lemon served on the side instead of the lime. The pad see ew was just ok for me. I liked the fresh vegetables that were mixed in, but the overall flavor didn't pop out. I wish I had the option to choose a spice level for the noodle dishes. I like a little heat. As for the dumplings, I wasn't a fan. They were served in a sauce, which I didn't enjoy. I prefer my dumpling plain with a dipping sauce on the side. The chicken egg rolls were ok, nothing special. Overall, I would come back for the pad thai and maybe give another try to other dishes.

Vietnamese Pho with Meatballs and Pork

Five our our ROMEO group went here for the first time today. We ordered Vietnames Pho, Drunken Noodles, Ramen soup, Chicken Pad Thai, egg rolls and fried rice. Everyone liked their dish. The Ramen soup was not spicy at all even though it had a spice icon by it in the menu. My Pho was good but the broth was not quite like others that I've had. I also had them bring me some jalapeños to give it a bit of spice. The Drunken Noodles was very good. Chicken egg rolls very good. All in all it was a great meal with everyone rating it as 4.0 stars.

Overall this place was a popular spot with a busy night when I went. It seems to hit the spot for most! The service was great and you could sit anywhere they bring the food out. Had to try their named food and it was pretty good! I definitely want to try the other traditional Thai food they have when I go back!

Tom Kha soup at spicy level 5.

Staff are friendly and do their jobs well. Place can get busy! It was packed during our first visit and the food came out hot. Lots of people chattering and the place feels welcoming. It's connected to their banh mi and drink spot where you can also sit and eat after ordering. The food lacked some things... I would not say it's bland but it's not fully there for me. Disclaimer: I'm from California and eat Thai food often. The Tom Kha soup at spicy level 5 wasn't that spicy and the mushrooms were raw. While edible, the soup overall seems to be just half-way there in terms of flavor. It did not earn a nod from me. The bulgogi beef with udon noodles interested me because I love udon noodles but it didn't seem to have enough flavor to me. The meat was ok. Not tough but not tender. The udon noodle did not have enough time to absorb flavors of the sauce or marinade - I think. The drunken noodles was almost there - the color was almost dark enough with seasoning but it seemed to miss the sweetness of typical pad see ew. There seemed to be soup? as my sister was eating away and the dish itself got saltier. The pho was labeled "OK" by my Vietnamese mother. We did not get sriracha or hoisin sauce with it as traditionally expected. Parking can be tricky as it's located around and in the back. They have a large menu so there is something for everyone but a big menu sometimes can be a downfall if dishes aren't perfected. I would not personally recommend this place if you're used to the complex, layered, sweet, tangy, and aromatic flavors of traditional Thai food.

Thai Tom Yum Noodle

I'm only here to visit my little cousin in the army . But OMG did everything here hit the spot. The tom yum soup ? The spicy one made my night ! Dumplings steamed so flavorful and the drunken noodles ... so filling and delicious

I completely forgot that I'd visited this place a few years ago. Came back for a late night dinner…read moreand was NOT disappointed. Ample flavor. Great serving size. Good service. And convenient location! I'd definitely visit again.

We had amazing Korean food and mocktails here in an unsuspecting place. We ordered the Guava…read moregetaway, Creamy Limeade, Kimchi Cheese Fries, Kangjeong (Boneless Wings), Spicy Squid and Pork Belly with rice, and Japchae. The drinks were blended very well and used fresh lime juice, which was nice. The appetizers -- the kimchi fries and the boneless wings were pretty standard. The fries were crunchy, but we felt like there was more cheese than there was kimchi and sauce, so we've had better kimchi fries elsewhere. The cheese was very gooey though. The boneless wings weren't as crunchy as they could have been, especially coming out in a stone dish, but the garlic soy sauce was still pretty good. Our mains were really good -- the japchae, which I ordered with fried tofu, had the right texture and flavor, and was delicious yet spicy. The tofu was a little bland though. My partner enjoyed the squid and pork belly dish and said that the sauce was similar to the japchae sauce. The portions were pretty normal and not too big, so we had a few leftovers but not too many. The prices were also pretty reasonable as well. Overall we were really happy with our food here and would come back if we ever visited again.
