The blurb that is on the website for this place understandably bigs the place up a little bit to try and get business. I have spent a night here after a work night out. I found it to be a pretty standard wee hotel, certainly not bad but in no way world beating. The place is clean and tidy and the staff I found to be attentive and polite. Everything that I paid for I got and I didn't feel short changed. I can be quite picky when it comes to where I lay my head on an evening but this place I found to be perfectly ok. The bar is lovely and the entire place is pretty well appointed. You won't hate it here, but its not the Ritz.

I came here on a sunny day to sit out and have a glass of wine and enjoy my freedom from student life. It is a terrifc place and after its refurbishment, it looks cleaner and friendlier than before. You often see people having meals as well which shows the place must have a decent reputation for food. To be honest, I'm not going to try it because it is a hotel and I don't like the idea of going to a hotel for a romantic meal. I mean, if I'm staying there it is perfect, but if I have my own house, I would rather cook or go to a fancy restaurant. It is a nice place to sit for a drink and I'm sure if you're staying there it would be even nicer. Like I said, I've never stayed here nor will I but it is definately a lovely place to be on a sunny day.

There is a gated parking lot. The hotel is located to many different restaurants, and it's also a quick walk to the city center. The shower drain was very slow. Even after putting in a request, it wasn't fixed during the duration of our stay. I requested extra blankets & pillows. It took the staff much too long to deliver the items. I had to go down to the front desk to request the items again. The rooms were clean & the bed was considerable. Overall, the stay was pleasant. However, the staffing needs to be held more accountable.

Cheap and cheerful Pros: The room was clean and smelled of fresh laundry. The carpark construction has finished and there was enough space to park quickly and securely and HIE is one of the very few hotels in the city that has a private carpark. The shower was clean and worked well Friendly staff all the way, I asked for a spare duvet and it was delivered swiftly, even though it was late in the evening, same with towels etc... Some food is available 24/7 Cons: The double bed was a joke. There is no way for two adults to get a comfortable sleep on such a tiny bed, I had to use the pull-out sofa so at least one of us would get some sleep. We're no giants either. Definitely a big minus and a reason I will not be coming back, unless I'm on my own. The soap in the bathroom is fixed to the wall and very cumbersome to use, the same one in the shower has been empty on arrival and for the last two days, housekeeping staff have been in and out on both days... There is no wardrobe or drawers in the whole room, not even the bedside tables have drawers, all your stuff is therefore either out in the open or stays in the luggage. On the fence: The breakfast was ok, but the apple juice was diluted to a point it should be called a drink not juice. The eggs have absolutely zero taste... No vegetable (not even a fried tomato) just beans and mushrooms... I appreciate that it was included, but again, you get what you pay for and this one is nothing to write home about, but does the job. Verdict: if you can get a good rate, it's a good choice. It is what it is...a cheap hotel with modern facilities with everything "just enough". If you're just passing through the city on business or traveling on a budget and if the rate is low, good choice. If you're going for a weekend away with a loved one, pay a bit more and enjoy a bit of luxury, you're not going to find it here. And again... The bed sucks!

First time at the Maldron. Overall it was good. Nice looking lobby area…read more The room was small, really small. The room had two beds. But it was such a small room the beds were too close together and we had to walk sideways in between the beds. There was no dresser so we had to live out of a suitcase on the floor for a week. The room overall appeared clean except for the phone cord had a thick layer of dust in between the loops. (You could clearly see it.) The bathroom. The walk in shower was nice with a rain shower and separate handheld. The water temperature was super hot. Way too hot and room would fog up. Because the shower is open to the door, the door had major water damage and was swollen and couldn't be closed all the way. The door jam was also had water damage. Aesthetically unappealing. The restaurant was very nice and the food was good. The staff were super nice about food orders. Enjoyed the meals. Some of the staff (front desk, restaurant and housekeeping) were very nice and others not as much. But overall the nice staff outweighed the not as nice staff. Location is close to City Hall and Donegall Square which is what I wanted. And it was centrally located within walking distance to a lot in the area.

The location is perfect and within walking distance of a nice amount of stores and places to discover. I loved that I was able to see a beautiful church from my window and being able to open it slightly to allow the nice weather in was amazing as well! The hotel offers free water bottles (two) daily and the turn down service was amazing to have when we came back in after a night out having some amazing food. The prices for the hotel were pretty decent and the amenities I got from staying here were pretty nice as well! They offer breakfast buffet but it is on the higher end so I went to explore the local areas around the hotel! The place was super clean as well and everything was kept up to date and looking fresh! A wonderful hotel and one that I will be staying at again if I ever get the chance to visit Belfast again in the future!

I was born in Belfast and have never been back (I grew up in America). I was greeted with such warmth and friendliness by the staff here. My room was very trendy looking and comfortable. I wish I stayed here longer, but I was only in town for a couple of days. Some nice perks: The staff will call drivers to come pick you up and take you where you want to go. There is an umbrella in the room, which I ended up using because it was raining outside. The downstairs bar and eatery was amazing as well. I enjoyed the food and drinks. I took full advantage of the delicious room service for breakfast. I want to bring my husband here when I return to Belfast! Exceptional experience.

This hotel is situated in the more affluent southern suburbs of Belfast not far from Queens…read moreUniversity with many of the campus buildings in its surrounds. The building is located near a small cluster of pubs, restaurants and fast food outlets. Check in was not the best... After driving for several hours to Belfast and arriving late-ish and hungry the gentleman manning the reception didn't greet us with a smile and chose to take an incoming phone call prior to giving us our keycard. Understandable that at that time the reception is only manned by one person but placing the caller on hold for a few moments to see us sorted wouldn't hurt. Being the first impression for the property its ultimately important (and hardly expensive) for the receptionist to smile for guests. I did however manage to get half a smile out the man the next morning. The common areas of the hotel appeared to be more recently updated than the rooms and corridors, however many furnishings were worn. The corridor could do with a lick of paint and renewed carpet as the existing fittings are well worn/marked. Room furnishings were a bit plain and not like those advertised on the website. Beds were comfortable. No air conditioning (in our room anyway) - not a problem in December but consider this if you are staying over summer. The bathroom was fine, with a good strong shower. The water saving tap on the sink was a bit ridiculous as you need to run the tap for about a minute for the water to get warm. Breakfast included the usual hot options of full Irish with cereal, yoghurt, fruits and breads. Tea and brewed coffee supplied to the table by friendly staff. Overall an OK stay, the property could do well to make some updates to furnishings, and perhaps some extra training for one of the reception staff. Parking is 5 quid overnight which is a bit much considering street parking is available all around - however we were given free parking validation on checkout which was a nice gesture. Free WiFi is also available and was accessible from the rooms as well as the common areas, with the occasional drop out. I've stayed in much better 4-star hotels elsewhere so the money I would probably try somewhere else next time to Belfast.

It's a lot bigger inside than you realise, with various function rooms and an expansive lounge and bar/restaurant area, serving those staying in the hotel, and business folks and travellers passing through. The reception staff were very helpful, and the function I attended was well sign-posted and easy to find - there was a constant supply of tea and coffee, pastries and muffins, as well as orange juice and water. The food we had was lovely too, piping hot and tasty, and we were given a full three courses for lunch - unusual for an event like that, I thought. All in all, the hotel is pleasant and inviting and seems well run and professional. I can't speak for the hotel rooms, but the main areas of the hotel were all clean and well-maintained. There is plenty of parking for patrons also.
