i was looking at a used boat on their website. I called, spoke to Steve about making sure the boat I wanted was still there because it's an hour and a half drive for me to get there. I take the day off work, drive there excited to buy it. when I get there I asked to see Steve, who I talked to on the phone. I asked where it was, we walk around and it isn't here. unit is not on location. he says to me oh the owner must have come and got for the weekend. sorry about that. what do you mean sorry? I called, you said it was here. you couldn't be bothered to actually check. he gives me the guys phone number and says I can call him. sorry bud selling the boat is your job. What a great group to work with!!! Old school - no credit cards, etc - so be prepared for that but Tom and his group are some of the most honest and knowledgeable people around. Our boat motor blew on our 20' Jones Brothers here in the midst of covid backlogs. After making multiple attempts to get a price on a boat listed on their website by both email and phone calls after almost 2 weeks of waiting I finally gave up. Their customer service is non-existent and in all honesty despicable! I bought a boat from Duckys a few years ago. Thank God my choice of manufacturer was far better than my choice of dealers. Ducky's was by far the worst buying experience of my life, with Sea Hunt my best experience with a manufacturer, second only to Toyota. It would be one thing if these clowns were only overbooked, but they're also rude. Stay clear unless you don't care when you get your boat and don't mind shoddy work. read more

Why did I even bother posting anything on yelp. They deemed my review unworthy of being factored into the rating. I was trying to do everyone a favor by telling the truth about the poor customer service at ducky's boats and the fact that they are a one star operation unless you are spending big money on one of their new boats. After having such a poor experience I began asking other boat owners and most of their comments echoed mine, poor customer service from a couple brothers that are at each other's throats yelling at each other in front of customers. Hard to believe these people are in business as they have no regard for the customer. I was yelled at and told to leave when I tried to return a part they sold me that was wrong. I gave the make model and year / they gave me a used part from their junk pile I guess. That's ok so far, tried to return the wrong part that did not fit and old gray hair guy yelled profanities and told me to get the f/-ck out of here. he said all sales are final and it did say that on the bill of sale which is odd to me. I left with my part that did not fit and basically ripped off for 30 bucks plus tax. Lesson learned, never again with these jokers. I don't know where these 5 star experiences have been taking place but definitely not at the parts counter- all this for 30 bucks? I have purchased few parts at Duckys ( Lancaster county) for my Yamaha twins 150's. When I've called in the past a lady usually answers ( don't know name) I ask for parts, she stated "speaking" I've dealt with this same female voice appx 4-5 times. Always seems to have a poor attitude, but I put up with it cause only Yamaha dealer around. Actually I helped a friend buy boat from them, and was going to myself. I put up with negative lady because we all have bad days and not many Yamaha dealers in Lancaster county. Today I call to ask if she has yamalube lower unit oil in stock. "Yes", I ask by chance do you know how much a f150 takes ? "No" "I would have to look it up, don't you have a manual". Ok, I politely say, "Mam can I say something, each time I call you for a question, you are unwilling to help and have a very negative attitude is there.......she says something I can't understand.....then hangs up on me! I have stopped in and delt with older gentlemen who has always been very helpful and nice. I'm not sure if this is his wife, but I will NEVER buy, call, or deal with them again! Before you are rude to people you should know your audience ! Especially if you're a small business owner. I won't going in detail, but you lost out on more customers today, and sales than you realize. read more

Ducky's boats are first class service all the way! They have been more than accommodating and helpful for my husband to custom build his "dream" hunting boat. When I called to add a gun locker as a secret Christmas gift, they called the manufacturer right away and was able to make it happen! And promised not to tell my husband. Haha! They are also close enough to home that we can use them for future maintenance and repairs. They are down to earth and give you their honest opinion-- it is quite refreshing in today's world, great business! read more

Thanks to Ducky's we have a great 1994 Bayliner - 2 owners kept in excellent condition only needed a little polish to get out on the water! Don't get me wrong we didn't buy anything from them. They were nice enough when showing us a boat and even offered to take it out to see how it ran. But when I called to do so the lady who answered the phone sounded angry at the suggestion and said they don't just give "free rides" and that we would have to pay $ 500 "deposit" nonrefundable just to see the boat on the water. We asked around and this is not standard practice so I called the guy who showed the boat and after not saying a thing about $$ to see the boat on the water while showing it he was also almost belligerent just like the lady about the issue and told me it cost him $ 200 out of pocket for "them" to launch it. Good thing they made it so hard to do business with them or we would never have found our boat. read more
