Meh I am so over the donut craze it's not even funny. Way over priced and a basic donut until you cover it with so much stuff it's not even recognized as a donut.

This was my first time to Duck Donuts and it did not disappoint! I'm not the biggest donut person, but I must say that these were some of the best donuts I've ever had. They were very fresh and soft, which was so nice! I also got a small coffee to go along with the donuts, which was also great. Highly recommend going here! Can't wait to go back!

Wow. Worth the wait. I don't even really like donuts ... but these donuts were amazing! Fresh and hot! We stopped in on two separate mornings. And the kids loved watching the donuts being made. The coffee was kinda meh, though.

There's honestly not much to say about these. Duck donuts is one of those staples of east coast beach towns, that really just doesn't get old. While the donuts are wonderful, with crazy toppings and a multitude of combinations... The real star, if the location has it (like this one does), are the breakfast sandwiches. Sausage egg and cheese on a maple bacon donut. Go ahead... Just let that run through your mind. It's kind of a big deal, and it's hard to eat just one. You can swap the sausage and get bacon instead. My only con, which what makes this a 4 star review is that the donuts here are considerably smaller than at other locations. Aside from that, if you're staying in the Avalon area, this is a must visit at least once.

We tried Duck Donuts for the first time today. We got a dozen donuts and 2 breakfast sandwiches. Everything exceeded our expectations. We've tried the Fractured Prune, which has the same schtick... Create your own by choosing a glaze and a topping, or choose from the favorites list. The quality of the ingredients sets these two Donut shops apart. Duck Donuts quality is far superior. The peanut butter glaze truly tastes like peanut butter. Bacon on Maple Bacon donut was 100% better in comparison to the other donut shop. Not all Duck Donuts offer breakfast sandwiches.

Part of my donut tour 2K16. Stopped here on a lazy beach day and was not disappointed. While I only tried two donuts - the maple bacon and cocoa beach both were made fresh to order and were absolutely delicious. The maple bacon had a generous amount of bacon and the maple glaze was sweet but not overdone. I don't remember the specifics on flavors for the cocoa beach but it was a simple sugar donut with glaze that feeds into the less is more mantra. This place is not close to me but worth the trip if I am visiting.

I have tried some fancy donuts before - even paid $40 for a dozen in Boston! But WOW! These donuts are amazing! (Cue the heart eye emoji x 10000) they taste so fresh and practically melt in your mouth - in a good way! My favorite is the maple bacon! You can create your own donuts or they have suggestions. We thought doing a maple frosting with bacon bits would taste delicious and apparently it's a huge favorite with them - according to the nice server behind the counter. The toppings and flavor combinations are plenty, the price is sooooo affordable, and the service was great. I would definitely come back- at least 3 more times before vacations over - and maybe even bring some home!!

Would give this place 5 stars for the donuts. Sadly costumer service wasn't so great and we waited about 10 minutes for donuts that were already done and sitting there. Nobody asked if we were helped or even made eye contact with us. We ordered the maple donuts online 45 minutes before with maple drizzle and none of the maple bacon donuts had the drizzle on them. Not a big deal but still not what we ordered. Still 5 stars for the donuts, love them but mistakes were made.

Really really great donuts! You are able to customize icing, topping, sprinkles. Great addition to Avalon.

I think your experience at Avalon Coffee is completely dependent on time and day…read more That said, given the popularity of this spot during peak times, and the fact that it's a longstanding business, I was really disappointed in the disorganization in what I hoped would be a quick and easy visit to Avalon Coffee. I popped in on a summer Friday morning, and you can tell this is one of, if not THE, spots to hit up for your coffee run. When you walk in, there's a line for baked goods and a line for drinks. They have a great variety of bagels and pastries, but there's was an entire display case of baked goods near the check-out that you would never see if you're in the designated baked goods line. There were lots of staff (read: teens and college students) running around behind the counter, but only a handful seemed to be actually serving customers. The baked goods line grew out the door quickly due to multiple large orders of bagels, and only one staff member taking orders. Once you receive your baked goods, I guess you have to get in the coffee line? Except the coffee line was more of a coffee blob. With multiple specialty drink orders, there was a number of confused costumers. We couldn't tell who had been helped, who was waiting to order, and who was in line to pay. I came to Avalon Coffee for what I thought would be a simple order: an iced black coffee and plain croissant, and despite being one of maybe 6 customers when I walked in, it took over 15 minutes. The coffee was good, but the croissant was dry, and it was not worth the confusion and wait that it took to acquire. Because it was so disorganized, the line built up quickly and was out the door by the time I paid (which was a third, separate line?) Honestly, unless it's non-peak time, I don't see me suffering through the chaos for a plain black iced coffee. I always support local, and I loved the ambiance and accessibility of Avalon coffee, but the experience left much to be desired.

The line moves quickly because of several registers and a few hand held order entry devices. The young girl taking my order repeated it back to verify it. You pickup your coffee inside and your food from a window outside. Smart to get people out of the building while they wait. They have several people making coffee drinks so the wait is a few minutes at most. You get a text when your food is ready. Parking is always a challenge on SIC so swing around onto E. Landis because there are a few parking spots. We had a sausage, egg and cheese and a bacon egg and cheese and a dark road coffee with a shot of espresso. Everything was very good, although pricey. Breakfast sammies are my go-to move when I'm on vacation. I've had hundreds in many places and feel I'm qualified to nit pick. It looks like they pre-cook a lot to cut down the wait time. The bacon could have been crispier. Too much cheese on both. The eggs should be a little runny. The sausage sammy only needs one patty and not two and maybe one that is thinner. I didn't have any pastries, but they looked very good. My score is based on service, coffee, breakfast sammies. My above order with a half-dozen bagels was $45.
