When I brought my motorcycle to Ducati Detroit for service I was disappointed by the overall communication throughout the process. I understand that service work can take time, and I have no issue with reasonable timelines or unexpected delays. However, communication is a critical part of any customer service experience, and that was where this experience fell short. After dropping off my motorcycle, I expected a basic update regarding the status of the work. Instead, I found myself having to call multiple times to check on the progress. On several occasions, it seemed as though staff were too busy to provide updates or follow through on promised callbacks. While I eventually received information regarding my motorcycle, the lack of proactive communication made the process unnecessarily frustrating. The facility itself is impressive, clean, and representative of the Ducati brand. Unfortunately, the customer service experience did not reflect the same level of professionalism. A simple courtesy phone call or email update can make a significant difference in maintaining customer confidence and satisfaction. In any service oriented business, customers should not have to repeatedly reach out for basic status updates. Improved communication and follow up procedures would go a long way toward enhancing the overall customer experience. I hope Ducati Detroit takes this feedback constructively, as the dealership has the potential to provide a service experience that matches the quality and reputation of the motorcycles it sells and supports. read more

Saw a motorcycle online and decided to stop in Saturday Oct 4 2025. Was immediately impressed by the large inventory parked outside so I entered the showroom. More bikes and even a coffee bar! Lots of gear and more bikes! Unfortunately nobody acknowledged me. A few people drinking coffe and eating a sandwich, one guy folding shirts but not one person even greeted me. I looked at helmets, the bike even the exhaust in a display case. If its this difficult to get noticed to buy one, imagine how hard it must be to get service!. I recently read a review about the Ducati Detroit. One woman said she wouldn't work with them because she didn't like the coffee. :) Here. I decided to write my own. At the end of the season, I decided to swap my zx 10r for another bike. The choice fell on the bmw m 1000 rr or Ducati Panigale v4s. Honestly. Until I saw the bikes live, I thought there was no better German manufacturer. I was wrong. In real life, they are completely different than in the pictures. Ducati is the pinnacle of motorcycle construction. BMW (may other riders forgive me) is just a set of fashionable parts. About Ducati Detroit: Like it: Service and responsiveness of sellers; Quick registration; Compared to other dealerships, people here really know their stuff and everything about motorcycles. (I was surprised how the seller keeps all the information about the bikes in his head, right down to the tuning price). We had some minor disagreements during the purchase process. Kevin decided everything and found the "golden mean". I didn't like it: Probably only because they have very little space (as far as I know, this issue is currently being resolved). These motorcycles should be on the podium, not in a small alley. This is a crime :) Special thanks to the guy who brought the bike to my house (you have to double his salary). Thank you so much. You helped me make my childhood dream come true, and right on Christmas Day. And I'll be back for coffee. I was there, I was drinking coffee. It's delicious. Dishonest and illegitimate business. I purchased what is supposed to be a premier brand motorcycle only to make the mistake of getting it from an inferior dealership. They'll promise you anything but can't deliver. They've owed me a refund for over three months, for something I paid for and they can't or won't deliver on. There are lots of other dealerships, avoid this one at all costs!!! Plus there are lots of other brands.... I'd go for BMWs all day before I'd ever consider another ducati. read more

I like to think I'm pretty reasonable. All I ask is there is communication, especially when it comes to a service like this. I needed a new shifter and a few other things done, so I had the bike towed on a Wednesday. When they picked it up I was told it would be ready Friday . I called Friday, the person I needed to talk to was on lunch and I was told I would get a call back about the status of my bike later on in the day. I didn't get a call back, so I called about an hour before they closed. Once again I was told the person I needed to talk to was not there, but my bike should be ready the next morning. This whole scenario happened again on Monday. Person is not there, they're on lunch and they didn't know the status of my bike. Called later in the day and still no one could tell me the status of my bike. So now I called today (Tuesday) and the bike is ready. I picked the bike up, did a quick inspection. Looked fine, so I drove away. About 3/4's the way home I notice some play in my front brake, so when I got home I did a more in depth inspection. (I should of done this from the start, but I wanted to beat traffic home, so that's my fault.) I called, they said service was busy, but they would call me back before they close. I have a Kriega dry bag attachment under my back seat and the plastic attachment was lodged under my battery. This should have been caught by their service department. ANever got a return phone call. If I would have received a phone call saying they're slammed and it might take a little longer than expected to fix my bike I would be fine. Ducati is a higher end bike and they should have higher end customer service and communication. *Update* I took the bike back in to check the brake and clutch levers. I purchased a Ducati cafe street racer a couple of years back and owned it for a while before having to get rid of it- mainly due to storage issues. The bike was amazing, stylish and moved quick. It was a head turner and I enjoyed driving it down the local streets of Royal Oak. I never owned prior to purchasing this vehicle but it was fairly easy to learn, I hopped right onto it and drove around the neighborhood after watching some YouTube videos. Definitely would recommend taking a course beforehand or getting a cheap used bike because I dropped it the first week. The Ducati service shop took care of my damage in a timely fashion and had me back on riding within a day or so. I purchase my helmet from here too, which they gave me a good deal for along with the bike. read more

I put a down payment on a 2023 Multistrada in March of 2022. The bike finally arrived in August and they delivered it the first or second week of September. I had some accessories installed - brake and clutch reservoirs. I rode the bike for almost 200 miles and being a new bike, I was getting used to the feel. I rode into a roundabout that I have taken 100 times on my 2016 Multi, at low speed (15 - 20 mph) and next to no lean angle. The bike washed out from under me with no warning or indication that it was about to occur. I watched my new bike skate across the road on the crash bar. After picking it up, brushing off and riding home, I could not understand what had happened. A little research on the web pointed towards underinflated tires. I went to the garage and checked the tire pressure and it was 22 psi for the front and rear tires. The specification is 36 psi. I also noticed that the chain was quite loose and needed adjustment. I was surprised that Ducati Detroit delivered my bike without checking these items - considering they charged $550+ for dealer prep. I rode to Ducati Detroit the following weekend and showed this to the owner and he told me that they always check this and fill the tank before delivery. I told him that the bike had shown up at my house on empty, with the aforementioned issues. He told me he wanted to make things right and he would replace the damaged parts for no cost (crash bar, side cover, tank cover, mirror) - I told him not to worry about the hand guard as I had purchased the aluminum one and I would install that. Fast forward to July 2023 - I have moved to Colorado and I had written and called Ducati Detroit several times asking about the parts. The first three times, the owner told me he had forgot and he would get on it. The last time, he told me that him and his staff could not believe that I was trying to pin this on them and their delivery driver (a person I've known longer than I've been dealing with DD). That was not my intent, and it is clear to me now that the owner is not a man of his word. If you do purchase a bike from them (limited Ducati options in Michigan) please take the time to go through the bike before you ride it. I am not saying this is a systematic issue, but there clearly is no process to ensure the bike is set up correctly before delivery. Although he originally admitted that this was their fault, the owner ultimately reneged on the offer to make good on this issue. Really disappointing for a $30k + motorcycle. I have moved so I really have no plans on doing business with them again, but I'd like to warn future buyers to beware. read more

I was traveling from Dayton, OH to get work done on a Multistrada V4S and seeing how we couldn't leave the bike they got all my recalls done, bike was updated, new turn signals were installed. Bought my first Ducati here and it was, hands down, one of the best experiences I have had buying a motorcycle. Despite buying the cheapest bike they had available (and used), they treated the purchase as if it was their highest priority. When something went wrong with the bike they helped to resolve the issue quickly, and much of the cost at their own expense (they even dropped it off at my house). From my salesperson (Kevin), to the owner (Charlie) to the service manager (Chris), this was an overwhelmingly positive experience and easily the best dealership I have visited in the state of Michigan. I stopped in at Ducati Detroit recently to look at what helmet brands they carried - I had just purchased a previously-owned bike and needed one. Since I had driven past their showroom often, I thought I'd start my search for accessories there. When I arrived, they asked Conner Michals to fit me for a helmet and walk me through what types and makes that they carried. He was very knowledgeable in helmets and he was extremely helpful. During the 40 or so minutes that I was there, I was able to try several helmets of different styles and prices with a serious level of detail and care from Conner. It was really apparent that he was more concerned about fitting me with the right helmet than making a sale. I don't know how they are in selling motorcycles but if they handle it the same as they do accessories and parts, they are definitely the guys to see. read more

Hang on to your hats. This is a long one. I have a '97 M900 that hadn't been rode I a while. It had some carb problems I.e. Stumbles on tip in. I figured Ducati guys would know what to do. So I contact these people right at the start of the COVID. Yes, they know what I'm talking about ( it's a Duc thing). Yes, they can fix it. Yes, they will clean and service the carbs. Took a while to get the bike back but I wasn't in a hurry as it was too cold to ride anyway. The call finally comes to get the bike and the bill is north of $620. Whoa, but I asked for it, didn't give anybody a hard time. Paid my bill and waited for the bike. Service guy shows up and the bike runs like shit. An obviously fouled plug. But I'm cool, it will probably clean out shortly. Take the bike, ride it 4 or 5 miles with no change Take it back and they change the plug. In runs on 2 cylinders now. GREAT! Ride it home and I'm not happy with the carburetion but it's been a while since I rode it so I'll give it some time. Meanwhile, I'm tired of this thing starting like it's got 20:1 compression so I am going to replace the starter cables. Lift the tank up and I have no air cleaner! Gone. Looking at the top of the carbs in the box. I'm calm when I called up and asked for service. Explained what I found and asked if they happened to have an extra K&N air filter floating around. Lo and behold, the answer was Yes. This is good. Connor, the service guy, said he would overnight it to me. This is good thinking on connors part as I would probably catch a charge if I would have shown up there in person. So I continue with my cable install and find out one of the hold down bolts for the battery box is stripped (they were the last ones in there as you have to remove it to get the carbs out). So, in conclusion. 1) Fouled plug on delivery but still handed it off 2) Failed to assemble the bike correctly (parts left on the bench, apparently unnoticed, until asked about) 3) Parts damaged on reassembly and, last but not least, 4) The bike still stumbles on roll on. We need a Ducati dealer in Detroit. But I don't think it's these jack wagons. read more

I have dreamed of owning a Ducati since 1999 when I lived by the dealership in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Fast forward a few years and it finally came to pass thanks to Kevin and Charlie. They are amazing to work with. Both are highly skilled in design and execution of mods--my bike is full of them. They're passionate about what they're doing and committed to excellence but also very relaxed. The whole sales process was painless. Let me tell you about this place....FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, AMAZING, TOP OF THE LINE!!! When I first went there, I was expecting mediocre service. I was waiting someone to basically say if you want a bike here they are and on to the next person...then I met Kevin Callaway, and ran me through the entire line up of bikes and gave me every single detail about the bikes i was most interested in. I left thinking wow I'm blown away by his attitude! I felt like we were just two buddies talking about bikes! So a weeks went by and he called me and asked me what's going and if I was still interested and I told him i couldn't decide on the ducati or the BMW and just said "why don't you come by and test drive them and then you make your decision". So I eventually test drove them and I was sold! I eventually met another great guy there named Charlie and I didn't even know he was the owner because he wasn't working that day he had just come up to check on something and yet again I felt like family!! And at that point I had to buy the panigale 1299. After the sale he told me if I ever had any questions just come on by or give him a call and I have to say i am so glad i bought my bike from them! This is literally a 5 star dealership, all the staff is so friendly you'll feel you've known them for years and they let you test drive their bikes which, let's be honest, really is what sells the bikes...unlike all the other dealers that say straight up no way no how.
