My experience was quite the exception from the rest. A few years ago my dad and I walked in here looking to buy gold bullion to diversify our asset. We were brand new to gold buying so did not know all the ins and outs. The owner was the salesperson that day, he smelled blood in the water and went on pushy sale tactics; spoke to us in demeaning and condescending tone, only short answers to our questions without helpful details. He even told us nonsense like "buying gold is out of style", and "people invest in diamonds now" to overcharge and push for a sale (silly him, look at the price of gold the last few years). In the end, after various misinformation and gaslighting sale tactics, he sold us a 1 oz gold bullion without assay, only wrapped in a pretty cloth pouch. Unbeknownst to us, gold bullion without assay loses significant resale value, almost unsalable at traditional gold bullion exchange. Duc Jewelry scammed us, and it still left a bitter taste in my mouth to this day. Since then, we learned our lesson and took our business elsewhere that are much more respectable and professional to work with, like U.S. Coins and Jewelry on Katy Freeway just a short drive away, they treat you with respect and no B.S. The fact that the owner knowingly took advantage of our inexperience and made a profit in selling us a depreciated product speaks volumes on his character. It is a matter of time before the customer finds out they have been cheated, and they will take their business elsewhere. Sure he made money off of us, but he lost all integrity and credibility that are critical moral pillars in his business. I hope these positive reviews here are true and not regretful mistakes waiting to be discovered by unsuspecting customers dazed by Duc's smoke and mirrors. read more

Excellent service and great customer service. Very understanding people who can take care of a lot service.

First time here as we are looking for a gold loop on the jade piece that connects to the gold chain. There were 2 workers with over 15 customers around 1 pm. Most weren't wearing masks and it was crowded. A lady finally talked to us after 10 minutes of waiting. She wasn't really paying attention to what we were saying as she was also talking on the phone AND to the party of 3 ladies, all speaking Vietnamese. We assumed they were negotiating. The staff then told us to come back later if we wanted to repair the jewelry. We don't need to repair but wanted to buy a loop. She then said a loop isn't secured and suggested framing the jade with gold. We disliked the idea as it looked ugly. She then quoted around $450 with labor and materials. Kinda surprised how she figured that. She said it'll be $500 or less and so cheap. I don't know if $500 is so cheap but her customer service skills can be improved. Then he offered to pay for their testing and they said no . I thought oh how nice ! Then it was my turn . I went in to get a bracelet repaired . I wanted a quote instead he was knowledgeable to help repair it because it's delicate with white gold mix with Pearl . He said gotta remove 1 Pearl and then link it with the gold chain together. I've had the chance to visit Duc Jewelry several times for repairs such as watch battery replacements, making any of my necklaces shorter, and changing out the hook or style from my longer earrings. I haven't gotten around to purchase any of their pieces yet, but they do look really nice. By the way, one of the best things about Vietnamese jewelry stores is that if you purchase one of their pieces, you can always come to trade and negotiate for a new piece -- and you can do this at any store with a similar look to this one. No receipt needed! Another thing about Vietnamese jewelry, in general, is that it is known to be very dainty, yet refined. Duc is a pretty down to Earth guy. He was able to create my customized wedding band and engagement ring for a really great deal. While talking to him, he showed me some of his unique collection. He showed me a one-of-a-kind Vietnam memorial coin, iron that was created 2,000 years ago, and a metal plate made during the Imperial Chinese time. It just comes to show that he has a passion for his craft and the things that he finds. He was easy to talk to and I would highly recommend him. read more

Very nice and friendly. I purchased a bracelet for my son's graduation. I needed tweaked and a little more detailed. She said they can costume and engrave initials on the bracelet. The jeweler was out to lunch but we went for boba tea. She said it will be about an hour. Came back in less than an hour and everything I requested was done.
