So I called and Yasmin greeted me so pleased and I can see that she is smiling when she's talking on the phone. Very good customer service and friendly staff. She booked me the next day. This review has been long overdue, may be for more than a decade! :) My hubby and I have been following Dr. Desai for more than 18 years from San Jose, Fremont to Dublin! Dr. Desai is really knowledgeable, patient, calm, and friendly. I have had to see him for many root canals and crowns alongside routine dental cleanings over the years. But I have always had great experience. One thing I have noticed consistently over the years, is that Dr. Desai has kept up with all the dental advancements and technologies! I have had the same experience with all their hygienists (Estela, Nikki, Serena) that worked on my routine teeth cleaning and deep cleaning. Dr. Desai's staff is super friendly, always welcoming and quite accommodating to any schedule change requests which I have to do from time to time because of family commitments. I really like their gentle reminders about the upcoming appointments via text / emails. The Dublin office is super clean and well maintained with state of the art technology. The decor is quite contemporary and modern! I always joke with the staff, that it feels like I'm in a 5-star hotel reception area not a dental office. :) Another great thing about the staff is that they take care of all the insurance claims and make your experience very smooth! I'll try to be concise. Came in for two crown replacements (each was 50 years old). The upper crown work proceeded as expected with good fit and feel. The lower crown work from the lab had to be redone 4X. The dentist was very frustrated and even went to the lab to oversee the crown design and manufacture. The reason for this is that the crown is based on the scan of a mold and sometimes the scan doesn't get it right. In my case portions of the gum line prevented the mold (and hence the crown) from nesting all the way down to the gum line for a tight fit. Years ago, dentists simply prepped a tooth and put on a crown. No thought was given to fit. Dr. Desai is a perfectionist and wants every crown to leave no gaps between crown and gum. Once he fits a crown, he then takes an x-ray to see how the crown contours around the gum. This is done to prevent food from creeping under the gum and causing decay. He apologized for the return trips and was determined to get me a correctly fitted crown. In the long run I am very appreciative of his efforts to prevent any tooth decay and give me a crown that will last many many years. I will also say that the temporary crowns they made for me stayed on and did the job. Brittany fitted the temporaries and was meticulous. I come here for my regular cleaning. I like the friendly atmosphere. I have never had to wait long upon arrival. I come and work with Stella, the dental hygienist. She's great! She takes the time to get my teeth really cleaned. I come out feeling refreshed. I also did the whitening for $500. It worked great. Unfortunately, ky teeth are just naturally yellow, they turned back after a few weeks. So now I have to do my own whitening at home using the custom trays and whutening solutiin that they provide. I have been seeing Dr. Desai for dental work for last 18 years. He is very sincere and professional in his approach to the treatments. He explains everything very clearly in detail and in layman's language before and after any procedure which is super comforting for patients. His attitude is very friendly and always welcoming with his signature smile. I generally have some anxiety for any dental treatment even for cleaning, I have always seen him doing his work patiently and confidently and that takes away all my anxiety. They have all the latest channels of communications through email, txt messages and phone to remind about upcoming appointments in advance which is super cool. Also, their appointments run timely and never unnecessary long waits, when there is an unexpected delay, staff comes out and explain the reasoning. They have been very helpful to accommodate my special requests during xrays or placements. I have always been explained very clearly about the co-pay and insurance portions and never had any issue. The best of all is their awesome facility. The office is pretty cool looking and the decor is quite modern, contemporary and posh. This is one of the best doctor's offices that I have seen so far - if you do not know, when you enter it feels like a 5-star hotel reception/lobby area. Couple of times I had to take my Mom who was visiting from India because of some emergency dental issue and Dr. Desai was super kind to open his office and help during after hours. I myself have called him few times at off hours and he is always there to provide proper guidance. Over all these years, few of my friends and colleagues have visited Dr. Desai and they all have been super happy with the recommendation. Dr. Desai and his staff were amazing. I went it for zoom whitening and to fix a crown I had done badly on my top front tooth. You could see the gray metal crown underneath my tooth. After 5 years of dealing with that I finally went in and had a nice looking WHITE porcelain crown put in. He was very patient, understanding and explained everything to me . I have been coming to Dublin Ranch Dental since I moved to the East Bay. The service has always been stellar due to a very professional and detail oriented staff. They are very punctual, in that when I arrive at my designated appointment time, I am greeted and my appointment begins promptly. Due to state-of-the-art equipment and patient hygienists, I never feel the inevitable stress that accompanies a biannual visit to the dentist. I fancy the chairs in particular! The hygienists do a great job of checking that I am comfortable as well by checking in often and offering things such a numbing gel or a break. This was most evident in my cleaning that I went in for recently. Both Dr. Desai and his team of hygienists took their time cleaning, as well as discussing oral hygiene at home to improve oral health. The team was very approachable, and friendly. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. THEY CHARGE YOU 5 TIMES MORE THAN WHAT IS REQUIRED. I had a toothache and my dentist recommended a root canal. Given this place was closer to my workplace in Livermore, I went to get the root canal evaluation and a procedure if needed. I do agree the doctor (Prashant Desai) was very welcoming and nice. They began the evaluation and later told me my tooth got infected and it requires a root canal. I agreed and said yes to have the procedure done in a day or two, however I have asked for the co-pay amount that I was required to pay after my insurance. The lady at the counter came and broke down the cost for me as follows: 1) Core build-up - my copay $267 2) Root canal - my copay $ 567 3) Crown - my copay $ 600 In total, they told me that my co pay was almost $1500. Now, I would had no problem paying the $1500 if it was legit however I decided to look around and do some further research before making an appointment with them. I came back and started checking other places and found another good dentist around the same area. I called them and scheduled an appointment. This time my copay was $115 without the crown, so for core buildup and root canal I paid $115. I saved more than $600 by doing some research and I cant be more thankful for the wise decision i took by not going ahead with the procedure with them. Bottom-line: Don't just go by the reviews, I made the same mistake. Doing your own due diligence is the key. Hope this review will help people making a better choice for their dentist. Thank you. I give 3 stars because Dr. Desai has done a great job on my teeth however my last four appointments have been screwed up by the incompetent receptionist. My scheduled appts are ALWAYS wrong. The first time I let it slide, the second time Dr. Desai knew about it (not sure if he spoke to her about it), the 3rd time I had to call and tell her the confirmation text was wrong, and the 4th time I received three different appt times (over the phone, text, and a voicemail!). How hard is it to schedule an appt?? Why has this happened four times in a row? Ridiculous. Update: Dr. Desai called and apologized for the inconveniences. However, he didn't even ask if I wanted to reschedule...he asked that I take my review off yelp! lol wow. I added an extra star ONLY because he did a good job on my teeth. read more

It'd been a while since I've had healthcare, so I was a little nervous when I scheduled my appointment at Dublin Ranch Dental... but from the moment I walked in the door, everyone was really friendly, helpful and professional. The office is pretty awesome... really modern and pristine with a touch of a "tech feel". I almost felt like I was walking into a Bang and Olufson showroom. The dreaded "dentist chair" was actually a reclining leather seat with a massage function, so that's pretty sweet, too. Most importantly, though, Dr. Desai was great... he was really friendly and informative and told me everything he was going to do before he was going to do it so there weren't any surprises (I ended up getting a filling done, and he let me know step by step what he was doing). I definitely recommend this office for anyone who needs a dentist in the area... I know there are a bunch of dentists in the Dublin / Dublin Ranch area, but between Dr. Desai and his office, you can't get much better :) read more

You save my tooth! I have been a happy customer with Dr Desai for over 10 years and followed him to his latest office at Dublin Ranch since he opened up a few years ago. What I like about this place is the service and the attention to details. My wife and kids, we all come together and complete our cleaning at the same time. He also opens on Saturdays which is convenient for us. So here is my story, I was reluctant to leave my old dentist 10 years ago but I was told to try this place out and WOW. I didn't realize how from one dentist office to the next could drastically be so different in service. I thought I had good service before but didn't realized that my old dentist was not cleaning one of my rear molar and it was so badly neglected for a long time. I had my initial consultation with Dr. Desai and he noticed that my rear molar was in a bad condition. I noticed that something wasn't right but didn't think anything of it for a long time with my old dentist. I would have assumed that any dentist would have noticed it but not my previous. I would have lost my molar by now if I stayed there any longer. Dr Desai sent me to a oral surgeon to have it checked out and they fixed the problem. Dr Desai was able to nursed my molar back to health by keeping it clean and my molar stopped wobbling after my next visit. He gave me some advice on how to keep it clean and demonstrated some techniques that I can use. 10 years later and I still have all my molars. Thank you again for saving my tooth! When we took 3 year old for cleaning doctor said there is a small cavity on one of back teeth. We didn't do any thing for it.. on 2nd visit they wanted to take X-ray of back teeth and asked me go out of the room. I trusted them didnot question them . She went left side and right side . Didnot take any pics. After sometime they took panoramic X-ray of entire teeth at once without informing me and I was asked to stay away when I tried to approach my son. After googling , I found that panoramic view is not necessary for 3 year old unless there is a cyst or tumor. I will not recommend this as they look for ways to make money for each visit. read more

I am very picky about my dentist and dental care. The office was new, well decorated, and had the latest technologies. Took the whole fam, including my 18 month old and 3.5 year old and wife. They were great! Gave the kids crayons to color, turned on the TV for them.....made it super easy. My 3.5 year old was scared to go to the dentist and now she says the dentist is "fun.". Can't ask for more than that! Did a thorough job cleaning and showed me videos on certain areas of my teeth to really educate me, versus saying "you need this...." and not providing any explanations.
