Wonderful store with wonderful staff! Very responsible with social distancing and hygienic practices. If you touch something, just keep it in your basket and it will be sanitized and cleansed afterwards! Loved the aesthetic and relaxing atmosphere of the shop. You're immediately greeted by the wonderful scents of the candles they have lit at the entrance. There are a lot of metaphysical items ranging from crystals (cut & uncut), candles, incense, etc. Everything is labeled and the crystals and gems have their purposes and meanings written on neat little cards. I stopped into this metaphysical shop located in South Pasadena a few weeks back. A good friend mentioned we had one in the neighborhood, and I came in to browse. I usually frequent Alexandria Book Shop in Pasadena or the House of Intuition in Highland Park. I love the energy inside Dual Crossroads. It's smaller in comparison to the other shops but they have a good variety of crystals, a tarot reader on hand, sage wands, oils, incense, sand, herbs, and more. There's a tarot reader in house and it's by appointment only. However, if the reader happens to be free you can come in and grab a reading on the spot. They have a variety of different prices available for different times, but I believe I saw $33 for 15 minutes. If you live local and are in the area looking for supplies, this is a great shop. This is a great space! I'm not sure how we've never been here before, but I'm so thankful to have found it. The space itself is very open, inviting, soft music playing in the background and so much to look at, and touch...my wife and I just fell in love. The woman working was so nice and friendly, and didn't seem to mind that we were there for awhile. Like I said, there's lots to look at...different crystals, books, jewelry (which were all so beautiful), and lots of homemade items. The candles especially were amazing. I'll be honest, I've had some health issues recently. Our reason for even coming was to look for a few crystals to help with the pain and discomfort I've been feeling. We were only there a few minutes and I felt so much better. I felt no pain and was completely relaxed. It was AWESOME! Then again, I believe the owner was burning something when I walked in the store and that might have put myself at ease, LOL. I wanted to purchase just white sage but as I looked over, I saw even more goodies to choose from: different variations of incense, sage bundles, and candles. I decided to go with a sage bundle and the owner (I forgot her name!) took the time to show me how to use it and what it was for. It's the customer service aspect that really makes me appreciate small businesses because they actually care what you're purchasing instead of pushing a product on you and be like whatever. South Pasadena is lucky to have this gem of a store in the community. I discovered this place while searching for a crystal class. It turns out that this class was their first-ever workshop since the shop's opening almost a year ago. Jennifer, the owner, explained that they are currently expanding their workshop menu to include mommy and me classes and meditation sessions. Perfect for a community like South Pas with its myriad families and overworked parents! Jennifer showed us several crystals and explained the properties of each. Then, after choosing our crystal, Kelby showed us how to wrap it with wire to make a pendant. What made this class extra cool was when Jennifer set up an altar and lead us through a short ceremony to personalize our crystals. She had also offered us wine and cheese as we worked on our pendants with new age chanteuse Enya's music playing in the background. It was a fun evening accentuated by Jennifer's wit and hospitality, along with Kelby's patient instruction. After the class, I had a chance to browse the shop. I liked the eclectic selection of items: art, clothing, candles, jewelry, journals, sage bundles, incense, books, and cute Halloween decorations. The location is fantastic: it's right by the Metro Gold Line station and in the heart of the Mission District which is always fun to explore. I liked that Dual Crossings isn't a hardcore new age or spiritual shop. It carries plenty of metaphysical things for sure, but also lots of mainstream, kitschy, and humorous items which makes the shop very approachable. As a casual reader that may be enough for you to get the thumbs up and go. As a more, what's the word, "choice" reader you may be wondering about the levels. Some spots in the SoCal area pursue a good image as a models for Crystal Stores, but lead with a bad pattern of management, sad employees, or a tacky veneer of "love and light" while peddling a rising up story and taking your money. I know crystal suppliers, authors, book distributors, publishers, and most major and local vendors for herbs, and many local herbalists, healers, readers, and stores/store owners. Integrity is important. It stinks to walk into place with a suffering staff and an overlord boss, and/or tacky products and high prices. This is not one of those places!!! love! Dual Crossroads looks and feels good and the woman who helped me had a genuine light in her eyes. She is not only a very nice and sweet lady but she is so sensitive.........the best description I could think of to describe Jennifer is that she's a Psychic! The shop had a little bit of everything--sage, incense, crystals, lots of books, and even T-shirts with funny sayings! The owner Jennifer was there, and she was very welcoming, nice, and personable. She asked me questions about what I needed, and provided me with ample attention to talk to me about my needs. So, I like to seek out different spiritual types of shops in SoCal. I came across this shop while on such a hunt, and I gotta say, I wasnt disappointed. Mainly because of the type of variety this shop has, because it doesn't feel like it excludes people who arent into "witchy" things. It offers alot of Used Books of varied types, ALOT of really cool clothes, and really interesting artwork (I asked, and some is even made by the owner herself). As per more of the spiritual stuff, I tend to prefer handmade things as opposed to mass-made items. This place had a good selection of sage bundles, jewelry, and hand bound leather journals. From my general observation, this place seems to want to support local artists of different mediums, and that is something i can really appreciate. I found this little gem while scrolling on the internet and felt that it would be the right fit for what I like in a shop like this right away. I love the neighborhood already, street parking all around is a bonus. I came in for some sage and a little guidance- but took one sniff of the Midnight Forest candle and stayed longer (and of course picked it up as well). This shop just feels safe, if that makes sense. I was looking for a place to get incense, and after seeing the reviews I felt this was the place for me. I haven't done the spiritual healing in a long while and I knew I needed a place where I could possibly ask some questions, and I got that and more here. Lets just start on the fact that as soon as I walked in felt this incredible calmness come over me, something I sure needed at the time. This place was great had everything I wanted and lots more, the owner was very nice and took the time to explain to me the items I had questions about. I found the incense, a burner and even a book. It's also a welcoming and safe space for our high and middle schoolers. This is such a marvelous store full of so many good gift ideas and cute jewelry. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to crystals or their various properties, but Jennifer, the owner, is a walking encyclopedia and does her best to find (and provide) exactly what you're looking for. I actually rented out a space here for a book signing and was so pleased with the space and the amount of foot traffic I got, I sold out of my books! Plus, everyone who came to see me was so impressed with the inventory that they all stayed and bought more from Jennifer. I recently visited this store and was very pleased with my visit. The owner is very sweet and she will greet and help you out with anything you need. I purchased a rose petal candle with crystal and it was the BEST SMELLING CANDLE EVER. It smelled so good, that my whole front house smelled like roses. They are homemade and she also let me know that when she made this candle for happiness. I was also looking for a rose quartz pendant and unfortunately she did not have any but she was very sweet to saw that she would make me a handmade wired necklace with a raw rose quartz which shows she wants to help you.
