It a good beach and Park, but limited free parking. Plenty of pay parking, but pricey. They don't have just an hour or two hour parking price. We went somewhere else.

Our first time here and our closest beach. What luck to come across a wild sea turtle that decided to sunbathe here along with us! It's a pretty small beach with no real waves so it's perfect for snorkeling. I hope to see our buddy again here next time!

Great hidden gem. Don't tell anyone. Love the coconuts rolling on the sandy beach in and out with the waves

Beautiful, secluded beach walking distance from your stay at the Ritz. We took many beautiful, Golden hour photos here with the kids and they spent at least an hour running in and away from the crashing waves.

The Fleming Beach is a public beach in the northwest region, which is maintained by Maui county at D.T. Fleming Park. It is a popular surfing and bodyboarding site, and the beach is wide and ended with rocks at two end sides. The climate is very unique sometimes, there could be all the sudden pouring heavily one side while it is still sunny the other end.

Beautiful beach! We've been coming to Maui since 2002 and this was our first time visiting this beach park. It's perfect for a day at the beach with lots picnic tables and bathrooms available.

Flemings beach came recommended by the Quicksilver cashier at Whalers Village. We arrived late in the day not knowing what to expect. The water is colder Lots of good waves for boogie boarding Lots of local kids in the water with boards and fins. Wind gusty at times and flings sand into your eyes A beach shower to get the sand off And some aged looking bathrooms. Free parking if you can find a spot.

We were just on Maui for six days and came here twice. It was GREAT. The first time we also hiked the Kapalua trail (recommended) and the second time thanks to some sunburn we were in the shade...it is a beautiful beach. It was a bit windy the second time though not as windy as another day years ago when we had to split...no biting flies this time either. The facilities are decent and parking is alright unless you arrive late. Shade is available all day which is not the case with other west facing beaches. Watching the surfers on the second afternoon there was great fun.

A nice beach, but the waves definitely kick up here during the latter part of the afternoon. I'd definitely heed the adage about not turning your back to the waves here. I came here before 7 a.m. one day and was the only one on the beach. It was so peaceful, and gave me some time to reflect on what's important in my life. I'd suggest doing the same before the hoards of beach lovers flood the nice plushy sand.

We had a great time at this beach. We were staying in Napili bay which was super calm and great for snorkeling but my 12 year old really wanted to boogie board so I searched on Yelp where we could go nearby to do that and this beach fit the bill. There is a lot of reef and rocks to the right side of the beach but that's where most of the waves were. My daughter had a great time and kept giving me a thumbs up! My husband snorkeled along side and saw some really cool fish and a sea turtle.

Beautiful view at the DT Fleming park

I would highly recommend visiting this beach park when in Maui - it has beautiful views, not too crowded and sea turtles come right up to you when swimming!

Big open beach, easy access. Great spot, especially for larger groups or families with smaller children!

It has a lifeguard station and that is saying a lot since many beaches on Maui don't have lifeguards on duty.

Limited parking - but it's still busy as there are a ton of condo's/motels on the beach. There are a few restaurants overlooking it, so easy to escape for a meal or a drink. When we were there for spring break, we were coming off a storm and it was quite rough. Some surfers catching some great barrels which was fun to watch. Other days it was calmer. A ton of snorkelers - I guess there is a few reefs full of fish. It's also adjacent to a sea turtle cove, so you can catch some sea turtles on their way. Overall, a great beach. We saw plenty of fish close to shore, and if you go early in the morning, there's a good chance you'll spot sea turtles cruising through the bay. The beach itself is clean with soft sand, and the cove shape keeps things feeling peaceful compared to some of the busier spots on the island. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend the entire day just unwinding. Parking can be a little tricky, so getting there early is worth it. A great tip is to pair your visit with breakfast or brunch at The Gazebo Restaurant right next door. It's super convenient and makes your morning really efficient--grab a meal, then walk straight onto the beach and enjoy the rest of your day. Whether you're swimming, snorkeling, or just laying out and taking in the view, Napili Bay has that classic Maui magic.

Originally we…read morewere supposed to stay in Lahaina, but because of the rebuilding of the area, we stayed a little further south. I wish I did stay in the area because the whole area is a vibe. It's a little more touristy with resorts and shopping areas, but once you get on the beach you forget all that. Some of our group was already here and gave us specific instructions on where to park. We parked in a paid parking garage and had to walk between hotels to find the entrance to the beach. This particular stretch is in front of the Sheraton Maui Resort. This beach was awesome! Don't get confused like I did and think this was a black sand beach. Black Rock refers to the giant black lava rock going from the beach into the ocean. It's a very popular cliff diving area. In my opinion, you got to have some athletic ability to do the cliff diving. There's two ways to get to the peak of the rock to jump. There's a path from the shore, but you have to do a little climbing with a very sketch path to the top. The other option is to swim in the ocean towards the end of the rock where you have a little ladder to get you up, but you still have to get to the top of the rock. My friends and I decided to do the swim out which in itself was a challenge. One I got close, I decided to be the photographer in the water for when my friends jumped. We hung out in the water for awhile before swimming back to shore. The beach is perfect for lounging around, with soft white sand and crystal clear water. I brought my snorkel and goggles to really appreciate what's under the sea. We stayed out here way longer than we planned because time flies when you are having fun. On my next trip to Maui, I would totally consider staying right on this beach. I will most definitely be back!

I have seen them crowding the turtles (10 ft distance is the law), standing on the swimming turtles to treat them like surf boards, and even approaching the monk seals or blocking their path back to the water (50+ ft is the law). Enjoy this beach responsibly and respect the beautiful wild life that frequent this beach.
