As a longtime customer of Alec's Shoes in Nashua, the experience I had today was incredibly…read moredisappointing. Over the years, I've spent thousands of dollars there and referred numerous family members and friends because I believed they stood behind the products they sold. Unfortunately, that trust is gone. I purchased a pair of Clarks on May 9th specifically for an upcoming vacation. After wearing them ONCE to dinner, I realized they were too snug and needed a wider size. I returned to the store June 9th with the original box and receipt, fully intending to exchange them for the exact same shoe in a wider width. The only issue? The soles showed the slightest amount of wear from being worn once. Despite the fact that I was requesting an exchange--not a refund--and despite what I believed was compliance with their stated return policy, I was told the shoes were no longer in "new condition" and could not be exchanged. How exactly are customers supposed to determine whether a shoe is truly comfortable and fits properly without wearing it beyond a few steps in a store? Shoes often feel different after an actual outing. Refusing to exchange a pair that was worn once for a few hours is an unreasonable policy, especially for a retailer that charges premium prices. I have never minded paying more for quality footwear and good customer service, but this experience demonstrated a complete lack of flexibility and customer appreciation. They clearly don't value their customers and don't care about anything other than making that initial sale. There are plenty of other shoe retailers offering the same quality products with much more customer-friendly return and exchange policies. After years of loyalty and thousands of dollars spent, I can no longer recommend Alec's Shoes and would caution others to carefully consider their return policy before making a purchase. If you wear the shoes even once to determine whether they actually fit comfortably, don't expect any accommodation if they don't work out. **I was so surprised by the way they handled the situation that I took photos of the exchange to share with this review**

They also have other popular stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Nike, and Boss. The outlets are the place to go for the best deals. For the negatives, the food court is pretty sad, it only has a coffee shop, a pizza restaurant, and chicken restaurant, and a small Indian restaurant. We got food from the chicken restaurant and it was disappointing. Also, it was a hot day and there's not too much shade besides going into the stores or the food court. Overall, I like the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets more in terms of their layout and larger store selection, but would recommend going here if you plan on making large purchases to save on the tax.

There is a Lindt store here too for all your chocolate needs! We definitely paid that a visit also. I was also surprised at how friendly and knowledgeable all the staff were at the various stores. The staff at Le Creuset really seemed to understand their products very well. We did not eat here, but there is a small food court. Restrooms were quite clean and well-kept. Overall this was a great shopping experience!

Items for sale are very gently used and the store's setup is eye-appealing. If you've never been to this charming thrift shop, please give it a look-and-see. It's located in downtown Nashua with convenient metered parking (25 cents gets you twenty minutes) or nearby garage parking practically across the street. There are 3 floors to peruse and the eyes just keep darting back and forth to every nook and cranny from clothes on the rack to shoes on the floor to wine glasses and other glass goodies on shelves high and low. There's a room full of paperbacks and there's furniture spattered here and there. The most exciting part? Proceeds benefit furry friends. Check them out. They even have a Facebook page. I've been sorting through my storage unit, donating items to this lovely shop as I go. Of course, each drop off requires shopping and bring some delightful piece home.

I visited this store earlier this week with my teenage son, we were browsing through the store when he noticed a coat that was definitely different compared to his original style (whatever the kids wear these days). My son was very excited about this coat, checking himself out in the mirror, styling it with a black cowboy hat. Just as I was considering purchasing the item here comes Chris a floor employee, when asked by this nice woman who I believe was the store manager what he thought about my son and his coat, Chris proceeds to pause and stare at him then continues with "well maybe for Halloween, he looks like Jeepers Creepers, why are his jeans so baggy". The woman tried to help by reminding Chris this might not be his personal style but my son looks great in the coat (It was a trench style coat). I did not engage and try to address this at the moment because I was already exhausted after a long day but I have the energy and time today! Chris continues to negatively comment about the look. Chris you clearly need more training, the coat was not for YOU it was for the customer, just because you are too short for the coat the weird, uncomfortable comments weren't necessary my son is 16 he's a kid, it's not his fault he's 5'10 while you are 5'3. I also tried to submit my information to receive rewards, Chris continued to put in my wrong address after I had repeated myself over 3 times, I also saw as he typed in the wrong email address when I was spelling it out for him. I have yet to receive anything via email in regards to this store. As soon as we got in the car my son mentioned how uncomfortable Chris made him feel with his comments. Thank you Chris for the uncomfortable experience I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere.
