DSW came through for my last minute hunt for some neutral heels for a recent event. I wasn't able to peruse the store due to a time crunch, but I was able to find something that worked for what I needed at a great price. There were several deals going on through their app where you got a decent amount of $$ off of your purchase or you can still get 20% off for signing up for emails. I have shopped here several times and the people are always nice. They do have a reward system where you can achieve a small purchase. On a previous visit I did get a free purchase. The store does have a nice variety of shoes and accessories. I have made several purchases from this store. I am cost conscious and they have satisfied my price range. I came in to browse. With the season change, many sandals were out on the main floor and there were boots on clearance. This location remains consistent with a broad selection of shoe brands that I like... i.e Steve Madden, Jessica Simpson, Adidas, and New Balance. Thev handbag section has decreased, but they still offer a nice selection of dressy handbags and clutches. I like how this location has a wide open floor plan, truly like a warehouse. Even when there's a crowd, it doesn't feel crowded. read more

I ordered rain boots online and they were shipped to me well ahead of schedule. They ended up being cute as I thought they would. However, I was off on the size and then realized that although cute I went a little too far with the pattern for my particular taste. I was able to do an exchange in store and Jaime was so patient with all I wanted to do. I was so appreciative of her help. She placed an order for my new rain boots and I played it safe with another cute pair and toned down pattern. I look forward to receiving my order. Another employee and I wales the clearance racks and couldn't find it. We finally gave up(guessing someone had just purchased it) or it was misplaced. Okay...so I have a love/hate relationship with DSW. I pretty much always walk away from the Brookwood Village location with a pair of shoes, but have yet to find one here at the DSW in Patton Creek. Never bought a pair of shoes here! I've never seen anything here I wanted, and if I did want them, they didn't have my size. The last two times I came here, I bought a face cleanser and nail polish only cause they sent me a birthday coupon I wanted to take advantage of. The store is clean. The associates are friendly, and they always have good sales going on. I'll probably return when I'm in the area anyways, but I don't go in with super high expecations. read more

First time in this store, needed some new dress work shoes... it took me about 30 minutes to find something that actually fit. I will say they need a larger wide shoe selection, but they did have ample amount of different types of dress shoes. The one thing i did like about this store was you are not bombarded with sales associates. But having said that i really did mot see many associates on the actual floor either. Now on to the prices, it is like all shoe stores, it is a hit or miss on the savings but on average you save about 30-60 dollars on the tags. All in all will be back as a first choice for a shoe store to see if i can find my next pair of wide shoes!! read more

My issue isn't really with this location, but with the company as a whole. I ordered shoes via DSW.com on 11/24/2017. I waited for approximately 2 weeks and did not receive any updates about the order. However, $61.31 has been pending in my bank account for the Nike-Flex Contact Lightweight shoes since 11/24/2017. I attempted to chat with DSW on multiple occasions via their website to no avail because that function is not working. I called and held for over an hour and was unable to speak with anyone. Finally, I decided to go to my local DSW store in Birmingham, AL (Patton Creek location) two days ago. I spoke with the manager. She had to call DSW.com to find out what happened to the order. Someone at DSW.com told her the order was never created even though $61.31 has been pending on my account and I received an email with an order number. The person the manager talked to on the phone said that they would cancel my order and reorder the shoes. I was also told that I would be given 20% off the price of $61.31 because of the inconvenience. The manager said I'd get an email to confirm my new order. Well, I received an email but the shoes are being sent to an address that I haven't lived at in almost 4 years. When I ordered the shoes on 11/24/2017, I requested for the shoes to be sent to my current address in Hoover, AL. Since DSW said they would reorder the shoes, I assumed they would send it to the address that was on the order from 11/24/2017. I will not get the shoes that have been sent out since I no longer live in Huntsville, AL. Now, there will be an even further delay on receiving the shoes because I'll have to hope the people that live at that address now will return the package to the shipping carrier. Then, wait for DSW to get them back and send them back out to the correct address. Someone at DSW should have confirmed where I wanted the shoes shipped before reordering the shoes. The lack of professionalism in regards to this experience is truly horrible. If this is not resolved before Christmas, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I will also share this horrendous experience across all my social medical platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Pinterest, Yelp, and my blog.) I will probably never shop at DSW after this experience. read more

I really don't know how I have missed this place for so long. I came in here with a friend during lunch and explored while she was looking for something. Overall, they have a good selection of typical athletic (tennis) shoes that you would find at any department/sporting goods store. Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, etc. They have them all and at prices that compare with the other big brand stores. Didn't look to much at their dress shoes, but they seemed like they had a pretty good selection. Something for everyone with good variety for men, women and children. The back of the store has several racks of clearance shoes that are categorized by size gender. Look at the chart on the wall as well as the box to see what the final discount for the clearance items will be. Also, join their rewards program and you will get an additional %5 off for every $100 you spend. I wouldn't rule them out for looking for shoes next time I'm shopping. Overall a good experience. Not too crowded. Friendly, helpful staff. Good prices. read more

What can I say? It's a DSW! Mostly a women's shoe store, but a formidable selection of men's shoes as well. Dress shoes and casual alike... including tennis shoes/sneakers, sandals etc. In the rear of the store there's a discount/clearance section that you should always start with :) Might come across a great find. In this section you'll find color coded stickers with corresponding discounts of 20% 30% 50% or 60%... something along those lines. Otherwise, for men, you'll find a small belt and hat section toward the front of the store. Checkout and customer service during checkout was excellent during my most recent visit. I was provided with some very useful information regarding deals etc. If you're the type of shopper that can handle such a large variety of things to sift through, the DSW may be the store for you! read more

I can't offer ANY stars because my time in this store was well below expectations. I experienced the worst customer service at this LOCATION that I can ever recall in all of my MANY shop experiences in my lifetime. I was disrespected, disregarded, and completely pushed to the side. It all began with a young associate who refused to respond to a simple question I had, and it ended with the an encounter with the incompetent and ill-prepared manager. I can not express my disappointment and frustration for this horrible experience. As an African-American, I felt disgust from both employees through their passive/aggressive mannerisms. I hope there is cultural competency training at this store so other customers are treated with due respect. Shame on this associate and manager for such callous behavior. read more

Let me start by saying that every DSW person I talked with was excellent- friendly, helpful, went out of their way to help. That said, the online experience is terrible. I started by looking on line for a pair of sandals for my daughter - multiple times with varied results. She said she'd found them - I could not. Called the store. The lady I talked to was great - went looking and said she didn't have the size. Went on line again, and sure enough, there were the sandals. I tried to place the order but the process kept hanging. Then I tried chat several times but kept getting a message the chat had ended (before it started). So I called the sales number. Took forever until someone picked up (almost 30 minutes - wow, and you really want to sell shoes??). The lady was great. I straightened out the order- and she volunteered to look at the order I placed to insure it was correct. She gave thumbs up- but the next day I got an email notifying my my order was cancelled because the sandal is out of stock. Are you serious??!!! You let me place an order, confirmed the order, then cancel - wow. All this happened over 4 days. What a pain!!! So I went to Amazon- saved 4 bucks and my daughter will have her sandals tomorrow. read more
