Great store with many brands available from babies to adults. The store is huge and well organized making it easy to find shoe styles in your size. This location offers many great sales and many other shoes at an affordable price. I got shoes for my kids and socks for under $25. There was a long line to peg but fortunately other available staff came to rescue the poor girl at the cashier that shows team spirit and effectiveness to get customers out the door quick. This store hours are misleading. Website states 8pm the door sign says 8pm and 715pm they are cl8ses daily. Ive come 9n 3 occasions after work at 715 or 730pm and it's been closed. What a disappointment . The employees are rude and have an attitude! read more

ADVICE:Hire Associate's who can understand when to apply a policy and when to forgo that policy for the sake of providing good customer service. I have been a customer at DSW for greater 5 years and usually have a decent experience but today that all changed for me. I literally stood in line for 20 minutes with 3 boxes of shoes in my hand. There was 1 staff member at the register who seemed in no hurry to move the line and another employee who would go back and forth, scanning shoes and restacking them. When I finally was serviced by the 2nd employee , Zoelle, after she ran out of shoes to scan and inventory. I asked why she didn't open her register earlier to assist instead of scanning shoe boxes, as I and others were obviously waiting a while and having a hard time balancing all of our shoe boxes. Mistake #1- She quoted "It is our company policy not to open a second register unless there are more than three customers in line." Mind you, there were 3 customers in line and two of us had three or more boxes in our hands trying to balance them, while she looked at us and went back and forth scanning shoe boxes and not greeting us or helping by opening a register to decrease our wait. She didnt even offer a bag when she saw a customer nearly drop the shoe boxes she was holding. Mistake #2: I can tell you that, as a former person who waited on customers , you never make a customer wait to pay. What should have taken 5 minutes or less to check out became what felt like a 20 minute ordeal of balancing shoe boxes, while waiting to pay, due to poor customer service and an inability of a staff member to put the needs of providing good customer service above a thoughtless company policy and scanning inventory. Needless to say I left the store and plan to give my business to Macys or any of the many shoe stores at this mall than return to DSW to buy shoes and receive inferior sevice. I wont be back again... Is it any wonder people are buying more things online (delivered to their door by an anonymous delivery driver) than going into a brick-and-mortar store and encountering non-caring employees who give poor customer service in the name of company policy and place more priority on scanning shoes than selling them and retaining customers. 2 stars given for product availability only.. #@Amazon wins. Advice: DSW change your policies to put customers 1st and hire employees who know how to prioritize helping customers over scanning boxes. read more

I love shopping at DSW. I am a premier member and the perks are amazing. They have a vast variety of shoes, scarves, socks and other accessories. Which are all priced very well. If it's not available in the store they (sales associates) will gladly order it from their website as well as have it delivered to your home, for free shipping. Unfortunately, I like shopping more on their website then in their store. The store prices are priced more than their prices online and they don't price match?? How is it that you don't price match your company's website? Additionally, the otay ranch location does not sale any children shoes, which sucks. They are understaffed especially on the weekends. Two cashiers were open on a busy afternoon with 5 people in line. Those are my only issues. Overall, the staff is prompt and eager to help plus their available inventory is exceptional and their prices are extraordinary. They are will stocked here. Love coming to DSW! This place is the only place where I will buy my shoes. Great quality! I came here looking for a new pair of sandals. It's summer and I needed a new pair to wear with my dresses. So many styles and colors to choose from. I think I do the most damage when it comes to buying shoes. LOL! I see that they now sell accessories like bags, jewelry, socks, etc. I have a membership here. The more you spend, the more coupons you get towards your discount. It's very easy to sign up. I forget my card so I just give the cashier my home number. You also get something on your birthday as well. Store is clean and very organized. I am happy walking out with my new pair of sandals. I love getting my shoes from this DSW. First of all, this place has every different kind of shoe you can ask for for a standard to lower price. Look in the clearance section to find a REAL deal, but those are far and few between. I really want to rant and rave about the staff. All three times my mom and I have been here, we have had such great conversations with one of the guys. Even though we came in really late one day, he was vacuuming, he engaged us in conversation (not necessarily about shoes). My mom was shopping for shoes, and like anyone else took of her sandals and walked over to the mirror to see how the new pair looks. She did this a couple times, and then she noticed one of her shoe was longer were she left. Naturally she double checked to see if she was in the wrong aisle. She approached a store associate and with her help looked for the shoe (she only took one off) and it was no where in sight. When the store manager was informed, he went to the back to check surveillance video. He comes back and says the video showed my mom put her shoe in her own bag! My mom could not believe what he was suggesting. Basically he suggested my mom stole her own shoe. It was scorching hot and my mother had to walk barefoot back to her car! A few days later, she want back to the store. Miraculously her shoe was found. Interesting how she went from a thief to, "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, here's a $10 coupon" Horrible customer service!!! We had to drive down to this DSW in Chula Vista because the shoes that my husband had purchased from the Mission Valley DSW were too big, and this location was the only one that had his size in stock. So, after calling to confirm that they had a pair, and asking them to put it on hold, we hopped in the car and made the long drive down to what I'm guessing is a relatively new shopping complex in Chula. This store has a different feel than most other DSW stores I've visited (and I've visited a ton of them). The long aisles of shoe upon shoe upon shoe are missing from here. I mean, they have the aisles of shoes, it's just not as...pronounced?...as your typical DSW store. I don't know if I'm explaining this right, but the decor and layout is much different from what I know. Not that that's a bad thing, because it's not. It's just different. That's all. The girl we worked with behind the counter was friendly and helpful - she was actually the person I had spoken with when I put the shoes on hold. She was able to swap out the shoes right there (though there was a bit of confusion on her part when she couldn't remember which ones were the ones we brought in, and which were the ones we wanted...) The transaction - after that - was quick and painless, and we were in and out without a hitch. I doubt I'll ever come back to this location, unless they're the only ones in town with a style or size I need, but I do like the look and feel of this store. The great thing about this place is you can get shoes cheaper than you would at an outlet. There are constant coupons and discount codes when you sign up and receive emails. I saved about $40 on the exact same shoes in the nike outlet. The only drawback is the men's section is about 1/8 of the store. Damn women and their shoe loving disease! Since I quit trying eat to relieve stress, I've swapped one addiction for another - BUYING SHOES! You can't typically tell, if you see my every day wear of comfy flats or a pair of tattered tennis shoes. But, I gotta admit, I'm a shoe (w)hor(e)der. DSW is one of my favorite places to go. They have a wide selection of name brands, styles and colors. My favorite place is the clearance section, where you can get anywhere between 20%-40% off the original price. Kinda cool, especially when I'm in the mood to buy more than one pair. The only thing I don't like about the DSW, at Otay Ranch Town Center, is the fact that it's smaller than the one in Mission Valley, which is twice its size. Knocking off a star because SIZE DOES MATTER! But, apparently, that's not enough to keep me away. Digging the store - it's close to home and it's super clean. Parking rocks - lots to choose from. We asked the girl ringing us up if they had any coupons or knew of any specials, her response was "Umm, I dont think so" She said this with the most rude, insolent tone. What kind of response is that? You either say yes or no and if you dont know, you ask a manager. She was a lousy register clerk. Didn't even say hello. Clearly there must be some bad management as this location. I have my receipt and am writing to corporate because her lack of respect needs to be corrected. The staff love helping you find shoes so they can make their commission. But God forbid you ask a question or inquire of something not related to their bottom line, they turn into stone cold people. I am not really a shoe gal, but I definitely don't mind perusing the deals at DSW. I came here in a pinch needing appropriate, but comfortable work shoes. When you spend 8 hours standing and walking, heels don't cut it. I also have wide feet, and my right foot has always been slightly bigger than my left. This usually makes for some looong, agonizing shoe shopping trips. Not at DSW! They always have a nice selection of flats and dress/casual sneaks. I was really lucky and got the last pair of simple, adorable Sam & Libby black ballet flats in my size. They go with any outfit and I can wear them when I'm barista-ing, book flooring, or running an errand. I like their prices as well. They're reasonable for the selection and quality brands they offer. I would love a new pair of Franco Sarto leather sandals. My last pair are still kickin', but I have to get some repair done. They're too good to let go! The staff at this store goes out of their way to make sure you are finding exactly what you are looking for, even if you didn't realize it. Accessorized my entire wedding here, have been an avid shopper for years. Until today The store manager (Sabrina?) is rude, stressed out and has absolutely NO filter. While on a trip to find a few new pairs of shoes she was nearby cleaning up. At first I heard her griping a few aisles away that "shoe customers were all pigs". She then approached our area where we were shopping shaking her head in disgust while grabbing a pair of shoes I was trying on. I told her I understood her frustration (as I also work in retail), and she responded "well then you should know better" as she cleaned up the two boxes of shoes I had set in front of me in on the floor. First of all, she literally grabbed the shoe boxes I was actively trying on. I was comparing sizes! The shoes were on my feet! I was treated as If I was a total pig and not cleaning up after myself. I was so embarrassed! Second. I don't care whether or not I was cleaning up after myself - this is not how you treat customers! This is certainly not behavior of a manager who should be a role model for your team. When my husband approached her about her comment she was incredibly defensive and justified it by saying that she was "having a rough close." I work in retail as well and I have had to smile and bite my tongue thousands of times. Wasn't looking for anything after the fact I couldn't find kid shoes..but only a minute into browsing the ladies clearance section, I found a cute pair of Steve Madden's that were calling my name. $9. Friggin sweet! They were already marked down to $40 something and it was 80% off. Ohlordy, they had sooooooo many others that could've been adopted by me! But all in all, there's a good selection in the clearance. The other shoes are decently priced, but at about the same you'd find at macys or something. Tip- brows the clearance racks, there's a bunch of good finds at a steal. My only star missing is cashiers being on the pushy side for deals and coupons. I don't want to be spammed up! I like that they will search for the shoe online and in the area for your size, that's so great. Great place for adult shoes!! Mamas, don't go with your kids!!! Go by yourself some evening when your partner is watching the kids. It is a much better experience. Tons of options. You can spend a lot of time there so be sure to stay focused. I went for non-plastic sole flip flops. My tip: if you are thinking about buying a pair of shoes, put them on and walk around the store in them right up until you go to the check out. You just can't tell about a shoe in 10 steps. Look towards the back of each row that has the shoe with 30 - 40%, that is a deal! I love shopping at DSW, however, I do not like the bait and switch tactics and think that they are suspect. Special advertised items are available with purchases but there is such a limited supply of the special that a customer would need to camp out on the first available day to receive the special item. Well I usually shop @ the DSW in Mission Valley, but this past Wednesday I went to Otay Ranch Center, just to change of scenery, & while I was walking back from Best Buy, I spotted the store (I didn't know they had one there), so I has to go in! It didn't seem as big as the Mission Valley one, but I loved the selection, even in the clearence rack they had a lot of cool shoes (I bought a pair of BCBG's that go for $95 @ $25, I love BCBG shoes!!). They probably have a great selection in sizes & Styles due to the fact that the store seems a bit hidden away in the mall. I could've gone broke this week inside that store!!!! read more

I have had numerous positive experiences at DSW in general and especially this location. My son left his favorite water bottle there yesterday and they were able to find it and hold it for me, which was such a relief. They don't really carry my size because I have suuuuch small feet (4/5) but I actually walked out with a pair of 5 1/2 roxy shoes that were only slightly too big but not enough to not buy! This store is huge. I had never stepped foot into a DSW until now. I'm glad I did. I can wear size 6 boots and their selection of shoes is incredible. Some not my style but very cute shoes. June 12, 2019: Been a loyal DSW customer in Plano, Texas for years and only shop DSW. I'm visiting and shopping with my Daughter and granddaughter. My DSW store experience was the worst at this DSW location. Your cashier "Tress" is a horrible, condescending sarcastic, smart mouth miserable person who should not have contact with your customers or public. I saw her talk down to every customer who asked her simple questions. When I spoke with her for help with my order she was a smart ass and attempted to talk down to me as well. How embarrassing for my 11 year old granddaughter to witness her behavior and asked her Mom and I why she is so rude to customers. When I picked up my order today June 13th I shared my experience with your two front cashiers (who were very helpful and courteous) they pretty much acknowledged her (Tress) ongoing behavior. My family who lives here and myself will most likely not return to this location as long as Tress is employed there. Sad!! read more

Where are the kid shoes? If you put a store in subarban area, expect to cater to families. Families have shoe needs.

Customer service is great but shoe selection is limited. Other DSW stores have big clearance sections whereas this one is on the smaller side. Shoe styles are also limited when compared to other locations. If you wear a larger shoe size (like 10 or 11) the options might be even more difficult to find. If you are not in a hurry for your shoes you can always order online and pick up at store for free- major plus! The staff are always friendly and helpful at this location which is another plus. read more

Four stars, not because of the size of the selection, but because the quality of the selection (for women) that was available. They carry a decent amount of Penguin brand which I am a huge fan of.
