Let me start off first by saying, I did my research and even asked for and followed up on…read morereferences given for Jorge's workmanship before hiring him. All of the reviews and references were glowing. In fact, we had, I thought, a great working relationship from 2023 up until recently. I had grown to trust him. He did many projects for my mom's house, and I planned on having him work on my house in the near future. This final and most expensive project was to install new vinyl gates. He instructed me on what to purchase, since we have a military discount at the big box hardware store. He installed the gates over a few weeks, there were a few delays due to a shortage of parts needed. It was started in January 2026, and finally completed in March. It looked okay from a distance, but as I looked closer, I noticed many flaws. I don't have to be an experienced handywoman to know that something is not right (please reference posted pictures). So I asked him to come and fix the gates, as they were unacceptable. He asked what was wrong with them, and basically I told him and showed him with the pictures I took. He said he would come by. Delay upon delay. Weeks and months later he still says he'll come by (see screenshots posted). Finally, he says he will come this Monday. We wait all day. No show. I say to him, "If you didn't want to fix the gates, just say that." Essentially, he says he's not coming, and he can give me an $850 refund. I say, great, please send it. Then he proceeds to ghost me for the next few days. It's disappointing that some people and businesses are the way that they are. I just wanted to help my mom upgrade her home and make it look nicer. Below are the key observations based on visible conditions: Left Gate: *Missing screws in several areas, compromising stability and proper assembly. *Visible foam residue on the vinyl surfaces that must be properly removed and cleaned. Right Gate: *Improper installation of the 4x4 support posts. *Use of cardboard and expanding foam as filler material between the vinyl and concrete, which is not an acceptable or durable installation method. *Gate is misaligned and does not close or latch properly. *A piece of wood was used between the concrete and the post as a makeshift support, indicating improper anchoring of the 4x4 post. *Scratches and cosmetic damage present on the vinyl surfaces. *Multiple exposed and unsealed screw holes throughout the vinyl. *Excess foam residue visible across the right side of the gate. *One post cap is loose and not securely installed. ~ In regards to the business' response: Everything I do is on my mother's behalf. I am her agent. I do the all the vetting, collecting bids, and hiring for her. The issue was not money, it was about fixing the flaws on the gates. And lastly, it was at her request that I be present if you decided to show up. We trusted you, and this is what you left us with. That is all.

However, I did not know if the leak was coming from the plumbing in the wall or under the toilet. Jorge removed the toilet to check the wax seal. He was very sure that was the problem. He meticulously inspected the plumbing under and behind the toilet to confirm the problem. He made a run to the hardware store to get parts, fixed the leak and was on his way in less than 2 hours. I would recommend Romero Meticulous Handyman to anyone. Thank you very much Jorge!

I want other customers to know that when you sign up, it is specifically for the bath/shower conversion of the "wet area." They are licensed to convert a tub into a shower or a new tub, but they don't do the surrounding work like tile, drywall, paint, electrical, flooring, or toilet installation. In our case, the demolition was already done before we contracted them. Once we started, they ordered materials from Colorado (which took about two weeks to arrive), and the installation itself took about a week. We went to Stone dynasty to choose a quartzite slab. We were quoted a certain price for two slabs…read moreand a different price for three slabs. We were told that we only needed two so we paid for those and immediately were told that we needed a third slab and they chose not to honor the rate for 3. Disappointing, but not a dealbreaker. We paid for them anyways. The main issue came in where we chose 3 slabs from a "batch" which all had the same numbers on them. I asked to make sure and were told that we were getting book matched slabs. Essentially, a left and right "shoe" that makes a pair so the fabricator can match veining properly when installing. When our fabricator showed up to pick up the slabs, they were sandwiched together so that they couldn't see the faces. Our fabricator also asked if they were book matched slabs to confirm before picking them up. SD Stone confirmed with the fabricator that they were book matched. So at this point: myself, the person with me, and the fabricator are all under the impression we are receiving book matched slabs. However, upon picking them up and arriving to the fabricators business, they found that they were not in fact book matched. Essentially, like the idea of coming home with 2 left shoes versus a left and right. We tried contacting the company and they insisted that both myself and the fabricator were informed correctly and that all sales are final and there was nothing they were willing to do. It was frustrating to deal with because it felt like both myself, the person with me, and the fabricator were being gaslit to believe that we were fully informed something that we were not. I'm sure they will respond here with their version of the story. Unfortunately, I personally would not recommend them after this experience.

I was anxious to get my counter tops measured, and had not received a call, so I called them. The person that answered seemed irritated that I called. She said she had called me three times already and left messages, said she had 8 (she counted them off) people ahead of me, but since I was on the phone now, she would schedule me. I verified that she had correct contact information, as I had received no calls or messages. This seemed very strange, but I was happy to get going on this project. She told me I would get a call the day before to narrow the arrival window. Again, I had to call them, and I again verified they had correct contact info. The next day I'm waiting at the vacant house and waiting...waited several hours after my time window before I called, because I didn't want to seem inpatient. To my shock, the girl said that after she had given me the arrival window yesterday, I had immediately called her back saying that time no longer worked for me, and I had rescheduled for two weeks later. I said that did NOT happen, you must have me confused with someone else, as I am out of town for surgery on the day you claim I rescheduled for! She said it absolutely did happen, and that was their first available appointment. I told her I'm not available, I will be out of town for two weeks. She looked at her calendar again, and came up with and earlier date?! Not at all feeling confident that this new measuring date would happen, I asked to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor had just left, so I got her email. I immediately sent an email with the whole crazy story of the employees claims regarding phone calls that never happened. I attached screen shots of my phone's call log, from the start of this fiasco, proving that her employee had never initiated calls to me, and that I did NOT immediately call back and reschedule. Supervisor immediately emailed back, saying yes, I really was on the schedule, and she "would talk to the scheduling girls". I thought about it over the weekend and decided that the supervisors response was inadequate, and this was not a company that I wanted to do business with. I cancelled the appointment, and I went to a local company Granite Planet. They had a similar product and business cards for fabricators. My counters were measured that same day-Monday, and the install was finished mid day on Wednesday! And, it cost me 1/3 of the amount Lowe's had quoted (product and install!). That's why I gave them two stars. Thanks to this companies crazy behavior I ended up getting a much better deal elsewhere.

After estimation and checking the quality of the materials I did my choice - I have bought an Italian kitchen from BKT Loft and I have never regret of it. It was the best choice I could made at that point. They do initial measuring, creating design, selecting the materials together with the client, delivery, demolition, installation, testing - the whole specter. I was working with Andrey who has a big experience (20+ years) and really understands what he is talking about. After measuring my kitchen, he came up with a design and a set of materials as well as appliances. The design was much better than I had imagined with good improvements and useful hints. The installation process was quick and accurate. He did it as if he did it for himself - thorough measurement, meticulous setting up, and strong fixing - I liked his job and engineering approach. He cleaned up the installation area and left my kitchen nice and shiny. The whole process took about a week, from demolition till final touches, and this time includes countertop making and installation (that was done by the third-party company - and done great) as well as appliances installation and testing. I am profoundly convinced that the materials BKT Loft provides are the best on the San Diego market. The cabinets look great and easy to clean. They are not afraid of humidity, fat, water, steam, you name it. The handles are amazing as well as mechanisms for cabinets - simply are the best I have seen. I am totally satisfied with the kitchen and service. If you want a great kitchen and smooth remodeling process, BKT Loft is the right choice!
