I want to say how helpful I have found Paul the Arborist to be. He explains things in a common…read moresense way, offers guidance to address the problem and returns after a period of time to ensure improvement or possible reassessment if needed. He is very knowledgeable and with a reasonable approach to tackling challenges. The reason I did not give 5 stars was because when I was initialing reaching out for diagnosis of a poorly tree, I was told over several days-weeks that I would be contacted (the Arborist sets his own schedule), that there was a backlog. I accepted this, but later learned that the person was actually on scheduled time away. I just wish I would have been told this from the start as opposed to repeatedly saying he was backlogged. He quoted me for a tree…read morethat fell on my house and promised extra steps for no additional charge to help cover and secure the holes in my roof only to come the next day after I signed his contract and say he didnt tell me he was going to do any of it and didnt do any of it.He quoted me a price to remove EVERYTHING in my yard that was part of the tree and then came out the next day and told me he couldn't remove the tree stump (which was huge) and was planning on leaving it there unless i agreed to pay an additional 1200 dollars. He told me we addressed the stump issue the day prior, which was another lie. He yelled at me in front of his entire crew when I called him out on his lies and got right in my face at my doorstep. I yelled back and he got upset and stormed off and left for the remainder of the job. Then sent his project manager out to smooth everything over with me a week and a half later because he couldnt be the professional he should be as a business owner. His crew did great work, but as the owner of a business, you shouldn't be treating your customers that way. It didnt matter to him though because i was obligated to pay either way. I will never use browns tree service again and do not recommend you do either. Avoid the headache!

I contacted 3 tree removal companies in Topeka, Ks. in March 2021. I chose Custom Tree Care for…read moretheir reasonable estimate for taking down 2 trees in my front yard. Today is 9/25/2021 and they just finished up. The delay between March and September was primarily due to fairly frequent rains, that kept the heavy truck out of my front lawn. Also, I have a flagstone walk that the truck needed to cross - so they laid down several panels that protected the walk, when the truck drove over it, so that was good. Arriving at 7:30 was the lead guy, checking things out. At 8am the workers and the big truck pulled in. It is almost 3pm - and they have everything cleaned up - all the limbs and tree trunks loaded and they were paid and are now gone. The workers on the ground, all kept busy, raking and picking up debris. A final cleanup was done with leaf blowers all humming in unison. I chose 5 stars for my rating, because I could not be happier with the job they did. The lead guy was very friendly and made the process go very smooth. I would contact them again, if I ever needed more trees topped or taken down.
