So Lowe's to the rescue! We got our first unit for the living room pronto. I didn't know much about portable units, so my partner and I got some help from one of the employees who was actually not only empathetic, but was able to answer all our questions and give recommendations about what would be the best choice for us. We left buying one fan and a new portable unit for the living room, which is currently still running strong so we're not sweating and suffocating. Fast forward a few weeks later... I have to buy ANOTHER unit for just the bedroom as we haven't been running the apartment's unit AT ALL due to it plain not working as well as leaking. Back to Lowe's we go! We had two other very helpful employees assist us on getting a clamp for the hose as well as a new smaller unit for the bedroom. I love how the employees were friendly and took their time explaining the warranties and protection plan to make sure we get the most out of our purchase. I'm happy to say we're no longer sweating and dying at our apartment thanks to Lowe's!

Lowe's subcontracted the delivery to RXO (formerly XPO Logistics), whose driver caused over a grand in property damage to three separate properties on November 11th, 2025, as well as almost hit my neighbor. The driver was uncommunicative, had to be flagged down from leaving the scene, and did not speak a word of English. Property 1 received massive tree damage that required removal. The driver also damaged the mailbox. The mailbox at Property 2 was completely flattened. Property 3 received damage to the mailbox and the rock structure around the mailbox. I included pictures of all properties, as well as receipts for the damage, and even pictures of pieces of the truck that the driver left: again, that's literal pieces. Despite Lowe's direct role in arranging and profiting from the delivery, most of their representatives have repeatedly attempted to shift responsibility to RXO, directing me to contact their representative or speaking with them on my behalf. I received most of it after threatening to take them to small claims court but am still waiting on $150. Meanwhile, do you think this asshole company offered me even a coupon after all this? No - Well congrats, you lost a customer and I share this story whenever I can. Way to embody everything people hate about large companies. To RXO - eff you for putting unsafe drivers on the road. I hope your business fails.

Sears wanted almost $2k for a floor model sample. Lowes couldn't promise delivery and the guy was not very knowledgeable. We saved what we knew would be "the best" for last. We pulled in to Famous Tate and our Salesman Ron Iannacconne remembered us from buying a refrigerator there a few years ago for my parents. Immediately he showed us 2 different matching sets.. One around $1,500 and another at $900. When we mentioned we needed them ASAP he excused himself and went to his desk- we thought he left because he wanted to give us time to talk over his prices. Actually he went to secure a spot on the NEXT DAY'S delivery truck!! Before we even decided- so we would get it as fast as possible. Great customer service! We asked about some different models- and Ron asked us questions about what we needed and explained that the pricier ones weren't really necessary. No upsell and he actually SAVED us by steering us away from stuff we were bedazzled with but would probably never need. He also recommended a box of Excelsior liquid detergent that was $75.00. I thought "here we go- here's the catch". But Ron explained how it contained enough to do 300+ loads and was designed for HE washers. He also said if we didn't like it that they would refund 100% of the purchase price. We are SO PLEASED we did- simple and no more hauling heavy detergent bottles in once a week.. It works well and smells wonderful...another bit of great advice from Ron and a great product offered by Famous Tate He put our order in and we were the 8-9 am delivery the next morning. The delivery guys were on time and very professional. We are very satisfied with our Samsung set..and happy to have a salesman like Ron and a store like Famous Tate. I would highly recommend them.

What a pleasure, George is the absolute best! He spent almost 5 hours with me and listened to every idea and request I had. I price shopped at another cabinet store and was told that 2 of my ideas could not be accomplished. George made it happen with no hesitation. When I went back for the 3rd time, Heather and Millie from customer service actually remembered us by name! That has NEVER happened to me before. We had spent almost another 5 hours in the store and at the end of Heather's workday, she took off her smock and helped us load the truck we rented for the pickup. I cannot say enough about the customer service/front desk staff and the kitchen design crew at this store. When you call a large chain store and the Customer Service Representative answers and you say; "Hi Heather it's Phyllis" and she knows who you are, THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Love this store!!

And many of these items are considered as massive destruction "weapon" by we earth ladies, and the Venusian. I actually like this store and its supplies. Most important, I won't be lost in the forest of aisles because everything is well organized in a compacted medium size store. Signs are marked clear and there are handful staffs working on site to assist customers. I believe they offer membership that gives discount for members. It is an ideal place to buy tools and materials for a quick house repair job. And I have no doubt a Martian can find tools in the shop to build an space craft. Harbor Freight sells some serious schijten. It is definitely an interesting tool store for the boys who love their toys. I have been scratching my head of finding a proper gift for my hubby. Now, a gift card from Harbor Freight is in my wish list for the next special occasion. Maybe I can convince him to build a Tiki bar for me. Um.........

Online, the Tarpon store was the nearest location to New Port Richey that had the set of 3 citronella candles in cute little terracotta dishes. Upon arrival, Kim/sales helped me look for the candles, but nothing on the shelf. She even checked her computer and the candles appeared to be in the store, but perhaps another shopper had picked them up. So, I decided to buy a live citronella plant from the garden center. Sally told me it's easy maintenance, water every other week and the plant would be healthy. I was sold! She could tell that I didn't have a green thumb. I had passed right by the citronella plants and then asked her if the store carried them. She gave me the kindest grin. Well, Kim was my checkout person. She really wanted to make things right! Kim offered to call me as soon as the next shipment arrived. What a pleasant surprise! She also recommended that I download the ACE app to receive $10 off of a future purchase. So, I went home and downloaded the app. Guess what! Kim left me a voice message yesterday that the candles had arrived. Today, I drove to Tarpon to pick up my candle set and used my $10 offer towards my purchase! The plant did take care of the bugs on the front porch and now the cutest candles for the back porch. Ace Hardware's customer service is unmatched by any other hardware store! Ace employees have a way of making you feel that your purchase is an important one!

The hurricanes in tarpon destroyed my families home and also my business, and to make matters worse, my wife an d I were displaced to GA where within a week we were in a bad car accident and I broke my neck and she broke her shoulders amond many other lifelong dibilitating chronic issues. Long story short, during the hurricane I took in my back blower to be fixed and due to the hurricane, that unit was destroyed. Since I was in such a bad accident I was laid up in the hospital and also months afterwards I was bed ridden along with my life. Life turned upside down, fast, and everything gone. We just moved back to tarpon in April, I rekindled my business mentality and decided after a long hiatus I would return to this work. I went into ace today and spoke with the gentlemen who took over Johns position after dear John had passed away during corna virus, and well, he pretty much told me there was nothing I could do. To top it off, he then insinuated that I was a lier and categorized me with another group of "liers" who have come in and "said the same thing as me" Really could have cared less about the blower in reality, even though it should have been at least credited to my account. But after 10 years of purchasing from this store, I could not believe the disrespect. I let the manager know in the front, not to much avail. Still let me walk out totally upset. I made a report with corporate when I originally realized they had my blower after the hurricanes, made a ticket, got a docket number and everything. But I just can not believe the extent I'm having to go in order to get sub standard customer service from a place in which I have revered and spent hard earned dollars with for over 10 years. Totally disrespectful, disrespected, and I cannot just sit and let someone talk badly about my integrity or character. Something needs to be done I have already put a new complaint in with corporate.
