Last week, I visited the Tarpon Springs Ace store to buy Citronella candles because love bugs swamped my front porch daily! Online, the Tarpon store was the nearest location to New Port Richey that had the set of 3 citronella candles in cute little terracotta dishes. Upon arrival, Kim/sales helped me look for the candles, but nothing on the shelf. She even checked her computer and the candles appeared to be in the store, but perhaps another shopper had picked them up. So, I decided to buy a live citronella plant from the garden center. Sally told me it's easy maintenance, water every other week and the plant would be healthy. I was sold! She could tell that I didn't have a green thumb. I had passed right by the citronella plants and then asked her if the store carried them. She gave me the kindest grin. Well, Kim was my checkout person. She really wanted to make things right! Kim offered to call me as soon as the next shipment arrived. What a pleasant surprise! She also recommended that I download the ACE app to receive $10 off of a future purchase. So, I went home and downloaded the app. Guess what! Kim left me a voice message yesterday that the candles had arrived. Today, I drove to Tarpon to pick up my candle set and used my $10 offer towards my purchase! The plant did take care of the bugs on the front porch and now the cutest candles for the back porch. Ace Hardware's customer service is unmatched by any other hardware store! Ace employees have a way of making you feel that your purchase is an important one! read more

Just want to share how upset I am. Long time customer 10 years plus at this tarpon vision ace hardware store. The hurricanes in tarpon destroyed my families home and also my business, and to make matters worse, my wife an d I were displaced to GA where within a week we were in a bad car accident and I broke my neck and she broke her shoulders amond many other lifelong dibilitating chronic issues. Long story short, during the hurricane I took in my back blower to be fixed and due to the hurricane, that unit was destroyed. Since I was in such a bad accident I was laid up in the hospital and also months afterwards I was bed ridden along with my life. Life turned upside down, fast, and everything gone. We just moved back to tarpon in April, I rekindled my business mentality and decided after a long hiatus I would return to this work. I went into ace today and spoke with the gentlemen who took over Johns position after dear John had passed away during corna virus, and well, he pretty much told me there was nothing I could do. To top it off, he then insinuated that I was a lier and categorized me with another group of "liers" who have come in and "said the same thing as me" Really could have cared less about the blower in reality, even though it should have been at least credited to my account. But after 10 years of purchasing from this store, I could not believe the disrespect. I let the manager know in the front, not to much avail. Still let me walk out totally upset. I made a report with corporate when I originally realized they had my blower after the hurricanes, made a ticket, got a docket number and everything. But I just can not believe the extent I'm having to go in order to get sub standard customer service from a place in which I have revered and spent hard earned dollars with for over 10 years. Totally disrespectful, disrespected, and I cannot just sit and let someone talk badly about my integrity or character. Something needs to be done I have already put a new complaint in with corporate. read more

This is an incredible ACE store! The employees are friendly and helpful. It is bright and clean. Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the store and one is positioned by the front sliding doors. Their inventory is terrific. I found exactly what I needed. Needed keys made, Ace was close by and since they're a local business the choice was easy. The guy behind the key counter was busy re-screening something, but once he saw he had a customer, he put that down and helped us with our house keys. It took literally minutes. We picked out 3 designer keys, ones that people would recognize for our home and he cut them while we waited. Once they were handed to us, we looked through the store. It's a nice store, filled with merchandise, not at all like a Big box hardware. Nice and friendly, but not terribly busy. read more

I went to Vision ACE to get an 11# propane tank refilled and was charged for 12# because the register operator said there was not a SKU for an 11# fill. I asked the filling operator to weigh the filled tank and even though the tank was sitting on a scale she told me she couldn't weigh it since they no longer fill by weight. When I got home I weighed the tank on a bathroom scale and it didn't even get filled with the 11# I wanted. Tare weight of the tank is 13.3# and the gross weight was 23#. This means I paid for 12# but only received 9.7#. This place rips you off on propane fills. read more

Two stars because it's a local business. Tried for second time to become a customer. Was looking for white gloss paint. Found one and only one unfamiliar brand and asked if there was a color chart. White is not always white and this was labeled designer white. Unhelpful sales guy pointed to myriad samples on display and said I could find a sample of that white there. What??? I should spend hours thumbing thru the rainbow of colors to find it?? Just wanted white. Not puce not magenta. Just white. Then we asked about receptacles. Wanted decora because they're made in USA. Explained we wanted square ones. Made no attempt to help us find them. I think we may have interrupted his chain smoking time. Whatever. Last time we enter that store. UPDATE JUNE 23. So stupid me goes back with spouse because we truly like to stay out of big stores. Needed insecticidal soap. Went back to garden area - had to walk thru main store because gate to garden supplies locked - and looked around waiting hoping fo a salesperson. Nope. So spouse sees a small check out counter in rear shed and a display of the soap. He goes to get it and out of the back comes an obnoxious woman questioning why we were there. Told her we found what we needed and she sarcastically said with a freakin smirk you could find that in main store. I looked at her and the guy she was with and told them I can also find it at Home Depot. Seriously last time we ever go there. It's almost as if they don't want business. read more

I prefer to shop local businesses and help keep them in business. Clean store, rewards program and reasonable prices. Always my go-to store.
