First of all, Thank You Air Nerds for fixing my furnace ignitor. The tech, Brian was friendly and…read moreresolved my issue. However, I truly believe that the charge for the fix was a bit overpriced to replace a $20 part (Found it online). I was charged a total of $450 to replace the ignitor. They first charged me $125 to diagnose the problem (I did tell them prior that I thought it was the ignitor). Brian then said that he would be back later with the ignitor. This is where I made my mistake, I should have asked him the cost to replace it (Or better yet, it would have been nice for Air Nerds to tell me!). This way if I thought it was too high, I could either replace it myself (I replaced it once before but forgot where it was located) or call around for estimates. I do have a heat pump and this was keeping the house warm enough, this was for the gas backup heat. So, Air Nerds did the job but I think $450 was a bit steep for a simple fix. I did search online and it said that this type of fix usually cost between $150 to $350 professionally, including parts ($20-$100) and labor ($75-$150). Anyway, I hope this review helps you decide whether Air Nerds is the way to go! One more note, they did arrive a half hour late! They first asked me if 8am or 9am would work, I told them 8am. After about 20 minutes, I emailed them and they apologized and said that someone was on their way.

This complaint is specifically for "AIRE SERV of Mechanicsville (ASM) but involves two other…read moreentities. ASM is an independent contractor (IC) who works along side of both: American Home Sheild (AHS), home warranty company, and Frontdoor Pro (FDP)", to scam AHS customers. For those that don't know "Frontdoor Pro (FDP)" is the owner of AHS. These two entities are located at the same addresss/Suite, which allows them to easily communicate back-and-forth, within the same building/suite location to scam their customers. I'm sure you all have seen the commercial/advertisement, where AHS states, "Don't worry be warranty", and "If we (AHS) can't fix it, we'll replace it". Not True! My A/C system cont'd to freeze up, then shut off at the beginning of each summer, each of the (3) years. Each time prior to the IC arriving for the service call, they would tell me to turn my frozen A/C system off to defrost it, that they couldn't work on it if it was frozen. The IC would then tell AHS that they could not find a problem. AHS, would ask the IC "Did you VISUALLY see the AC system frozen when you arrived?" The IC would respond truthfully, and say no. I learned (From ASM) after asking the next IC, prior to them arriving, that AHS TOLD the IC to tell the customer to make sure the A/C was defrosted prior to the IC coming out. There we go: This is part of FDP/AHS's Scam/Playbook. For the past 3 yrs., this cont'd until the IC (ASM) so CONNIVINGLY informed me that AHS/FDP had a new AC HVAC upgrade program and the IC (ASM) could work to get me a new A/C System at a discount'd price and the IC (ASM) could get me 3 quotes to review and if I didn't have the money, I could finance it under FDP. I broke down and purchased the FDP discounted A/C system at a cost of $5,000.00. The IC/ASM install technicians (Thomas and Hunter) did a TERRIBLE job on the install. The OWNER- IC/ASM (Daryl) was no where to be found and didn't even come to check the install. Thomas, the more senior technician connected the outside condenser. Hunter the new employee who was still learning connected the new $5K indoor A/C coil. I heard noise coming from Hunter on the inside install and visually saw Hunter kicking the new unit into the AC unit closet to make it fit. The furnace is on the bottom and the new air conditioner coil was on top and he was kicking the bottom part which was the furnace in to the closet to make everything fit. After the install, they turned the A/C on, everything seemed to be working. They left and a half an hour later I heard a clinking noise, and everything stopped working and started freezing up again. I called the OWNER of IC/ASM (Daryl), he had the 2 technicians come back out again, then Thomas said looks like something is wrong with your furnace now. I advised them that the furnace had been working all week because the weather had started getting cooler. Thomas and Hunter went outside and sat on my front porch and conducted a call on their speakerphone between Thomas and Daryl. Daryl said so can you fix it? Thomas said no it's gonna take a while right now and we have other customers and said I'm gonna have to take the whole thing apart and Daryl told Thomas, She's going be mad and I'm tired of dealing with her for the last three months, just close up the case we already got paid basically she's going to ask to talk to me, tell her I'm in a meeting for the next two hours. I heard the entire conversation on my Ring Doorbell microphone, which I have for evidence, and Thomas came in and told me that Daryl didn't want to deal with me anymore and they left me with no air-conditioning and no furnace. I had to go find another company to fix their problem and the Furnace. Daryl the owner of Aire Serv of mechanicsville dropped the ball !! He and his two unlicensed technicians, left me with both NO A/C and NO FURNACE for a couple of months until I got it repaired by a respectable company. DO NOT Trust the owner (Daryl) of Aire Serv of Mechanicsville with your repair needs or his two unlicensed technicians. Daryl the owner of ASM is dishonest, he will psychologically tell you that his technicians are the greatest things since sliced bread and on earth. Daryl will tell you and make you believe that Thomas is so wonderful and Hunter is the next up and coming perfect technician, and that he himself (Daryl) has so many years of HVAC service. Daryl is a real BS'er. He does everything he needs to do to get you to trust him. I would NEVER trust him or his two wack job technicians in my home again or with any of my repair needs. If you ever need to call in to have your HVAC repaired, or serviced, ask if they are affiliated with AHS, if they are RUN for the hills . If, you're thinking about doing ANY business with Aire Serv of Mechanicsville, DO NOT...you will REGRET it!!

Who would've guessed that Samsung is not a common brand that appliance repair contractors can fix…read more I contacted a few different contractors with no success. It looks like they serve a large area, so when I called I was told that they would be in the Richmond area on Wednesday and estimated the timeline of 11-1pm when I called Monday. The interaction was super quick and cordial. I did a search using Yelp, contacted someone I've used before and others sent me a quote. The company I used previously did not work on Samsungs. Professional Appliance Repair responded and told me to give them a call which I did. Talked to them and they were up front telling me $79 for the service call and if they find the issue and fix it they charge would go towards it. This also happened to be a rental home I manage so they asked me for the tenants number so they can work with them as far as time line. Everything was seamless, they came out to the house that morning and worked with the tenant. They found an issue with the sensors, which required that they order the part. They indicated it would take 3-4 days or so to get the part in. They got the part in the following Monday and fixed it. They accept venmo which is what I ended up paying through. Overall great experience and super responsive. I would totally use them again for the rental and my own home!
