Went for a late lunch today (Sunday) with my husband and service dog. We got texas loaded totchos…read moreand tried 4 different wing options - it was all sooooo delicious! We do not care for the greasy, overcooked wing alternative in town and felt these were a million times better! The totchos were crisp, definitely did not skimp on the brisket, and their cheese sauce was perfect! I was only asked once if he was a service dog (as he didnt have an obvious identifier on) and was so pleased with our service and interactions with the staff regarding his presence, and during our entire visit! This is so appreciated, my disabilities are not externally obvious and as a result I've been subject to undue scrutiny, harassed or completely ignored by waitstaff at multiple places around boerne and elsewhere. Thank you for being professional and respectful!

Stopped in for lunch, not drinking this trip, and had read good things about the burgers…read more Never being one to go small when it comes to burgers I went with The Imperial, which is listed as their biggest burger with 3 1/4 pound patties. The waiter asked me if I wanted to add bacon...well of course I do! Man what a good suggestion. Honesty, it may have been some odd mistake because that burger seemed loaded up with crispy bacon. It literally had bacon on the bottom and top of the patties...it was amazing. I think I told my wife 3 times, "There really has bacon on the top AND BOTTOM of this thing!" Patties were perfectly seasoned, vegetables were fresh, cheese was melty, freaking chef's kiss baby! This burger hit the spot. I paired it with the mac and cheese, solid option to have as a side other than fries. Next time I might go with the onion rings, but as I think about it, I will likely get the mac and cheese again...AND get onion rings, too.

We recently visited Brewdawgz Grille & Ale and quickly learned from their friendly, hometown staff…read more- don't let the name fool you. Brewdawgz is more than just beer and hotdogs. Though, they have those too. This under-discovered Kerrville Grille is offering up some of the best and freshest, homemade food in Kerrville. And, it's 5 page menu offers an amazing selection. For starters, they have an impressive list of appetizers - real homemade Fried Mushrooms, Onion Rings, Chili Cheese Fries, Shrimp Diablo, Southwest Eggroll, Wings (7 flavors and the size they use to be in the good old days), the best Cheese Curds I have ever tasted and many more. Their menu also offers - delicious meaty burgers (12 choices), salads, chicken, steaks, fish, BBQ; and oh yes, hotdogs. I liked the New York Dawg with grilled onions and sauerkraut. We can also recommend the Double Brew Burger. It's a full pound of lean burger topped with avocado, mushrooms, bacon, cheese, etc - made to order. Take home what you don't eat. It makes great leftovers. The Ribeye Steak Sandwich is also a good choice. They serve it cooked and dressed anyway you like it, on a real Brioche Bun. That's a real Brioche Bun. Not what fast-food restaurants want us to believe are "brioche buns". One taste and you will know to difference - soft, warm and pillowy (if that is a word) Brewdawgz's BBQ is perfectly seasoned, lean or moist with a great smoke ring - not too smoky and not dry or overcooked. BBQ sauce is truly optional here. BBQ is sold by the sandwich (7 choices), as loaded potatoes or by the pound. On special occasions/holidays, Brewdawgz serves BBQ beef ribs. These are a must try - big, smoky, meaty and rich. And, you don't have to go the San Antonio or Boerne to snag one. As for refreshments, 14 beers on draft (I liked the Dogfish 90 IPA or Firemans 4), 11 beers and ciders by the bottle, wine as well as soft drinks and tea. And finally desert, Cheesecake or Carrot Cake which they serve by the wedge. Not a little sliver, but a real wedge of cake. Highly recommend the Carrot Cake. Best we have ever had; and, will judge all others by in the future
