Very cute winery. Attended a baby shower there, and the space was too tight for the number of people that were invited but it was definitely cozy otherwise. Flatbread pizzas were yummy and the bartenders did a great job keeping up with the onslaught of people. Drumlin Ridge is elegant from the moment you pull into the driveway. You drive up the hill and find your parking spot. Then you will enter the winery and go up to the second floor. The inside is lovely and clean. One end has merchandise for sale. And the long bar is where you decide which ones you want to try. Once you've marked them on the menu, they will bring them out to you in a carrier. You can do flights of three, six, or just buy a bottle. Or a taste. The outside is just beautiful. The seating areas, the umbrellas, the view, and the vineyards themselves. I recommend highly you come in summer, spring or fall and sit outside and enjoy your wine like we always do. I know the categories of their wines as dry, but, I found that they were more in the semi sweet side. They're sparkling wine, and the rosé were amazing. The reds were great as well. We ended up tasting six red wine and bought one bottle. They also have charcuterie, boards, and pizza. Go to this winery. You won't be disappointed. read more

What a delightful find! We stopped in hoping for an afternoon of wine on a patio and possibly some food. And they delivered that! It helps that the weather was spectacular! You walk in and go upstairs to the tasting room. There are options for a 3-wine tasting and a 6-wine tasting. We obviously went with the 6...but also because the offering options were numerous and so many in each of our preferred wheelhouses. They pour the wine and give you a glass holder with all of them at once, so you can take it where you want to enjoy your wine, which I really like. The patio was welcoming and the view was wonderful and we enjoyed our initial tasting so much, we opted for ordering food and getting a bit more wine to drink to extend our visit! I got a large pretzel which was...fine. I expected and hoped for something more/better, but it was fine. My friend got a pizza and it was pretty alright as well. I am mostly just pleased and grateful that they have fairly substantial food options to enjoy with your wine. The tasting notes on the wine list are spot on, so pay attention to those! But also, try something new and different! The Almond bubbly was a delightful surprise! And the coffee infused wine was a bold offering. What a wonderful little gem off the beaten path. We are in Madison visiting my Great Aunt, and she took us to her local winery. The ladies were very kind and let us try some of the wines before we purchased. We got a bottle for 9.95! What a deal! We were even able to bring our 7 year old to the patio. It was a great experience. The service was nice. Everyone was kind. We ordered the pretzel, pizza, and Artichike dip plate. The pretzel was warm. The Honey Mustard and Cheese were cold. Not the most pleasant tasting experience. The pizza was amazing! It is a thin crust and cheesy pizza. They use real mozzarella Cheese. The Wine Cheese and Artichoke dips are meh. They were cold and the cheese did not have a lot of flavor. It is a very relaxing environment. It is a chatty atmosphere. Lots of tables and umbrellas. The wine is divine. Cannot beat it for the price. Our only suggestion is to not let dogs at the tables. Dog food in our drinks and watching a dog take a dump while we are eating and drinking is just plain tacky and gross. read more

This winery was FANTASTIC! I had a great time with friends. Not only are their social distancing requirements appropriate but they also provide a nice environment. The atmosphere here is great. Quiet but alive with a beautiful sunny open view of the vineyard. Honestly was one of the best vineyards I've been to. The service was great too! All of the staff were kind and made solid recommendations. The wine here was not only delicious but it's pretty reasonably priced. 6 nicely sized tastings for like $10. Totally worth it! They have a nice variety and each were really good. I'd recommend pairing this with one of their charcuterie boards. Overall will be returning soon! A beautiful building and a lovely setting with some solid wines made for a great experience. If the weather had been better we could have bought a bottle of wine and sat out on their big back porch and enjoyed the vineyard views. It was a pretty quiet Sunday afternoon and therefore we got a lot of attention during our tasting from the owner. It was great to hear the background of the winery and about each of the wines -some with Wisconsin grapes and some from California. We also tried one of their pretzels which was tasty. The second thing to know about Drumlin Ridge Winery is that the service is outstanding. Thanks to Jill who was wonderful for our tasting and food order. The third thing to know about Drumlin Ridge Winery is that they have FOOD. A nice selection of snacks. I loved this. We were able to stay a while and nibble and drink. Love. The fourth thing to know about Drumlin Ridge Winery is that they have slushies. I did not have a slushie on our visit, but that gives me a very good reason to return! The fifth thing to know about Drumlin Ridge Winery is, of course, they have wine! Here's where it gets a little tricky. Different people like different things. My companion and I tasted the dry and sweet tasting menus. It was a good tasting in the sense that there was a wide array of selections and flavors. And again, thanks to Jill who was wonderful throughout. However, we did not fall in love with any of the wines. That is OK. There are certainly very drinkable wines at Drumlin Ridge and I picked the Wanna Red and my husband picked a sweet white. The next time we go, I will go straight for the reserve tasting and sample any new offerings they have. I would have brought a bottle of Wanna Red and Syrah home but my spouse said it was unnecessary. OK. So for us, we will go to Drumlin Ridge again to sit in their beautiful space, nibble and drink, and not necessarily bring home a haul of wines. That works for me! I LOVED the interior of the building, the winery vibe it put off, and then stepping outside to their patio area was even more of a pleasant surprise - nice views of the vineyard, fans to keep you cool, warming elements for colder days, and even a cozy fireplace with seating around it. So, overall fantastic ambiance!! My husband and I each ended up picking out a glass of wine along with the salmon spread to take out to the patio to enjoy. The wines were great refreshing picnic-type wines (he had a sweet white and I had a rose). The salmon spread was good, but in our opinion they serve way too many crackers for the amount of spread you get. I would have easily ranked this place five stars if it wasn't for the unfortunate customer service we received. It was definitely busy when we walked up to the tasting bar; however, to me that is no excuse for it to be several minutes before some acknowledged our presence. Finally someone greeted us in the midst of whatever tasks he was doing. Waited several more minutes....finally a woman approached us to help although she seemed less than enthused about her job so it completely put a downer on our mood and view of this place. We had to ask her what our tasting options are, she brought us menus, and then it took her many more minutes to come back to us to take our orders. There was no explanation of the wines, no help offered, no "have you tried our wines before? what do you like" or anything like that. Not even normal small chat. I guess I have come to expect wayyyy better service especially at winerys - people that get you excited about their wines right?! But this was lacking. I'd go back in hopes that my customer experience is better next time because the scenery and ambiance is too good to pass up. read more

They even have a section that can get screened in if there's rain or snow. It is the most relaxing place and it makes you feel like you're in Napa Valley instead of Wisconsin! The wines are typically very sweet so if you enjoy sweet wines- this is your spot! They also have a variety of white wines, a rose, and a dry red. They even have wine slushees during the summer months. The food at Drumlin Ridge is a very good as well. They use local cheese on their cheese boards and everyone knows Wisconsin cheese is the best! This winery is a little gem. They have a wine slushie machine! Small plates are good. Very relaxing patio area. The day we visited the First Lady was coming into town and we watched many different aircraft and jets flying about. Fun to watch. There is also a small gift shop. For those with mobility issues there is an elevator. Didn't give 5 stars because the woman behind the bar was not real friendly and it took a long time for the small plates to come out. Did a tasting of six wines the first time. My favorite was the Frontenac. I decided to spend a girls day with my mom and bestie from high school! So while looking for someplace to go, relax and talk (while it stormed outside) we came across this little gem of a place in Waunakee! This place is beautiful! The atmosphere is perfect. They not only serve wine but they also have small plates of food which include various cheese and meat boards as well as hummus etc. They have a side room that has a gorgeous long table you could seat what looked like 20+ people at! (Great place for an incredible dinner or reception) and there were several smaller tables scattered around! They also has created the perfect ambience with fabulous lighting and comfy couches. Outside they have an incredible fireplace in their outdoor living area! And have though of everything including outdoor heaters, fans and canvas siding that lowers to keep the elements at bay! Dave and his wife Brenda are incredibly knowledgeable about the wines they have and the process that goes into making them! To top it off they are amazingly warm, friendly people! You can see the passion for what they are doing written all over their face! (By the way, Brenda makes the most fabulous wine charms! Be sure to ask her about them!) They have several different wines which range from white to some reds and the tastings are reasonably priced! If you drink wine, you'll love this place! They have a retail area where they sell various amazing local chocolates, breads and cheese, as well as other wine stuff you can't live without! This amazing little gem will be offering yoga classes amongst other fantastic events. The perfect place to have an intimate gathering or a large corporate event! You can even have an awesome picnic. My friend had heard of Drumlin Ridge so we made it a point to try it out when she was back in Dane County. It's easy to find on River Road closest to Hwy 19. It was a hot Sunday but the inside was nice and cool. There are several seating options inside. Outside there are many tables under shade and a cozy area near a fireplace. That fireplace is where I would want to be in the late fall. We had the Classics wine tasting for 10 dollars. Not completely crazy expensive. The pours were a generous tasting pour. I was pleasantly surprised on the complex tastes of the wines I tried. In addition to the tastings, one may buy wine by the glass or bottle. On this hot day, the wine slushes were popular. My friend got the red but it was not as slushy as it could be. It did stay nice and cold for her. I had a glass of the Wauna Blush. Cool and mineral-ly (is that a word?) As we were sitting down to enjoy our beverages, a musician started to play. He was a folk artist who played very well. We enjoyed the laid back vibe of the establishment. Though current wines are made in Califonia (with CA grapes), Drumlin has chosen wines that local Wisconsinites love. Their Syrah and Pinot Noir are fantastic! They also have a great summer rosé if you're into sweeter wines. The space is bright and beautiful--completely new with a lovely outdoor area to sip a glass, or bottle. My friends and I came to Drumlin Ridge today expecting to be underwhelmed. Why? Well, during our afternoon at the Uncorked wine festival in Madison, we tried their Zinfandel, and were less than impressed by it. It just tasted a bit acidic, and not very interesting. So we arrived at the winery today, and are immediately impressed by the ambience. It's a beautiful barn type setting (without being an actual barn), with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Right away we noticed the wine slushies. My husband and I shared the red sangria slushie, while our friend got the frozen margarita. They were so refreshing on this hot summer day. After the slushies, we decided to try the $10 wine tasting. There were a lot of hits, and just a couple of misses. Overall, we were happy to discover that the Zinfandel that we tried at the festival was nowhere near all that was in Drumlin's arsenal of great wines. The Pinot Gris, the Chardonnay, and the Syrah were FANTASTIC! I purchased a glass of Rose' after the tasting, and was very happy with it. The customer service was top notch. The tasting room was pretty packed, but the bartender made a point to come to our table to serve us the next wine on our list whenever she got a free minute. Otherwise, we just walked to the bar from our table to get the next wine, and we received very prompt service. With our wine tasting, we also purchased two cheese plates. One was the artisanal, and the other was the European. The cheese was good, the presentation and serving size were mediocre. All in all, we were so happy with our experience today, and definitely return. read more
