    General manager no AC
    Andy M.

We booked this room. It had no AC. We called the front desk and this lady came up. She turned it off at the thermostat and unit and it did not work. My children are in the middle of taking baths and getting ready for bed. She then told us to get out if we did not like the fact there was no AC. We booked thru hotels.com. When we asked for a refund she told us to "f off" and call them. When we contacted them they said she claimed we were rude. This general manager put three kids under ten out with no where to go. She is rude. The establishment is rude. The fact that it's deal with a room with no AC or leave is unreal. This lady's name is Nicole Sevick and she's a horrible manager and person.

This hotel is a prime spot. There are restaurants all around it such as Taco Bell, Arby's, Subway to name a few. All within walking distance. My daughter & I stayed here one evening after a long drive from Washington state. We had driven 20+ hours. The hotel is very nice and clean. We had 2 queen beds comfortable enough for us. We were able to rest well and shower prior to heading back on the road. I would recommend this hotel.

Mid road trip from San Mateo, CA to Western MA, I got an unexpected call from my friend Lucas. His wife, my close friend Jamie, was going to have her baby...that very night! I was in Bismarck, ND at the time, a short 760 miles from where Jamie was currently getting ready to have an emergency c-section. Our plan had been to arrive in Milwaukee the following day and spend the weekend with very pregnant Jamie and her hubby Lucas. Complications with the pregnancy necessitated a change of plans! The plan turned in to a marathon day of driving, hitting lots of traffic following an accident in Minneapolis, and arriving a little short of our destination. We made it to De Forest, WI, crashed for the night and arrived bright and early the next morning in Wauwatosa, WI to see the beautiful new mommy, proud papa, and little baby Bryn. The Holiday Inn Express in De Forest is conveniently located right off the highway, is close to Madison (about 15 miles) and not a far drive from Milwaukee (about an hour and a half). Best of all, the beds were amazingly comfortable (I LOVE THE SIMPLY SMART BEDDING), and despite the stress and worry I managed to get a good night's sleep. Whenever I stay at a Holiday Inn Express, I always want to steal the sheets and pillows. Apparently, this isn't something new because they now sell them at participating Holiday Inn locations, including this one. I also loved the Express Start Breakfast Bar. I could lie and say it's because of the yogurt and fruit, but really, it is for the cinnamon rolls, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy... The Holiday Inn Express is also conveniently located right across the street from the Ehlenbach's Cheese Chalet .

Hotel is pretty good, there was very limited staff when we went there. Our room was not cleaned all the way when we arrived which isn't pleasant. However the staff we did encounter was very pleasant to work with. Rooms are spacious and comfortable as well. Complimentary breakfast is included.

Booked a week (5 nights) for business purpose super convenient location to the conference center (Truck Country). I feel like the owners are trying but the hotel is outdated and in need or repairs and updates. The outside is clean and welcoming. But some small upgrades like new shower heads and better housekeeping would greatly help. Cons: Old, musty smelling, shower head was horrible all corroded from hard water and didn't spray decent. Furniture in the room was badly stained and soiled. Every table/counter surface needed a wipe down with disinfectant including the walls. Room frig never got cold, bathroom toilet was tiny, broken and old. The bed pillows were oddly tiny and the stinky soiled carpet needs to go. Pros: Serves free breakfast to guests with decent hours (6am-11am), cannot comment on quality because I did not utilize. Had a nice pool and hot tub, bonus actually in working order. Staff put me in a room away from the front desk, pool and lobby traffic area so I had a quiet stay. Best part of the room was the bed. Very comfortable and clean, there was a sheet and decent down comforter, not your standard thin or cheap sheets. While the pillows were very small the bed did have 5 pillows which was plenty for just one person.

We also had a digital camera taken during our stay but I have no way to track that. I'm very uncomfortable the fact that housekeeping has access to all these rooms and will take whatever they can. I truly thought our stay was nice until all these incidents occurred. I do NOT RECOMMEND staying here if you have anything of value!

The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel Milk, three juices, regular yogurt, greek yogurt, gormet coffee, tea, waffles, eggs, canadian bacon, biscuits and gravy, corn beef hash, muffins, pastries and more. The pool is crystal clear and the spa relaxing. The excercise room is full of state of the art equipment. Parking is excellent and the rooms are quiet. The manager... Mian is friendly and extremely considerate. The staff lives to exceed your every need. I travel on buisness and pleasure year round. I stay at the finest hotels and I have never had a more enjoyable hotel experience than I did at this hotel. I almost forgot to mention their beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. My stay was on business nut I left more relaxed than any vacation I have been on. I cant say enough about this place. Its like being in Mayberry. They make you feel at home and cater to you. They are friendly as family. The short answer folks is this place is a bargain at four times the price. Its an experience that Im gratefull to have had. I will only stay there when ever I come to the area on business or pleasure. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me.

Service = * Amenities = *…read moreCleanliness = * Value = * I booked a King Suite at $200/night rate. Expectations for that rate is to have at least an average level of service. I rarely write poor reviews but this visit warranted a warning to others. Where do I start? How about at the very beginning. Started with check in. No one at desk. Required to ring a door bell. Took about 5 minutes for someone to race down from second floor. I had reserved a king suit room. During the stay, evening, night and day no one was ever at the front desk. Only on Sunday when I checked out was someone at the front desk. Upon entering room, noticed dust and lint balls on floor and around furniture. A side entrance had a sign about keeping mud outside. Well, there was a mud footprint inside the entrance and remained there the three days we were there so obviously no one cleaned the hallways or entrance area. Later had ants all over a bowl in my room. They didn't have cups for the coffee machine, no creamer/sugar or stirrers. The only Vending machine they had was broken. Sign said go to front desk for any soda or water. But no one was ever staffed at the front desk during our stay. TV in bedroom kept going in and out of service. I checked all the connections but that didn't help. No one in pool area because pool wasn't heated and temperature in pool room was colder than the lobby. Water temperature in pool was probably 70 degrees or less. I really don't expect much from the free continental breakfast but this reached a low for me. The menu consisted of waffles, breads, bagels, apples or bananas (with a sign to wash fruit before eating them), yogurt, watered down orange juice or apple juice and watered down/weak coffee. Gas station food is better. I would never stay there at a $200/night rate again. Correction, I wouldn't stay there if someone else paid for the room. I would rather stay further away and drive to have even an average experience at an average hotel.

Hotel didn't offer a refund on price difference but gave us a $15 Starbucks card (neither of us go there). No iron/board in room. Very limited On Demand tv channels. Very small fridge, no microwave. Tons of kids in pool at night. Went for a swim/soak in hot tub next morning at 8 am but pool doesn't open until 9 am! With checkout at 11 and showers and packing up to go, swim didn't happen. Several light switches inoperable and limited lighting, two broken alarm clocks , no couch in suite and very uncomfortable furniture to watch tv so had to watch in bed. Just really disappointing all the way around. Would NOT recommend.

The inside is lovely and clean. One end has merchandise for sale. And the long bar is where you decide which ones you want to try. The seating areas, the umbrellas, the view, and the vineyards themselves. I recommend highly you come in summer, spring or fall and sit outside and enjoy your wine like we always do. I know the categories of their wines as dry, but, I found that they were more in the semi sweet side. They're sparkling wine, and the rosé were amazing. The reds were great as well. We ended up tasting six red wine and bought one bottle. They also have charcuterie, boards, and pizza. Go to this winery. You won't be disappointed.

You walk in and go upstairs to the tasting room. There are options for a 3-wine tasting and a 6-wine tasting. We obviously went with the 6...but also because the offering options were numerous and so many in each of our preferred wheelhouses. They pour the wine and give you a glass holder with all of them at once, so you can take it where you want to enjoy your wine, which I really like. The patio was welcoming and the view was wonderful and we enjoyed our initial tasting so much, we opted for ordering food and getting a bit more wine to drink to extend our visit! I got a large pretzel which was...fine. I expected and hoped for something more/better, but it was fine. My friend got a pizza and it was pretty alright as well. I am mostly just pleased and grateful that they have fairly substantial food options to enjoy with your wine. The tasting notes on the wine list are spot on, so pay attention to those! But also, try something new and different! The Almond bubbly was a delightful surprise! And the coffee infused wine was a bold offering. The staff were lovely and friendly, but also weren't too pushy or up in our business. It struck the perfect chord. Highly recommend a visit here if you like trying wines in Wisconsin!
