We made a stop at @tablewineshop this week to try some new wines and purchase some Christmas presents. I tried the flight which includes four glasses of their signature wines. My family members shared a bottle of Ercole Barbera Del Monferrato 2021. The shop is beautiful and has such a relaxing vibe. I loved the blind date wine bottles, where you pick the bottle without seeing it but instead based on a small description. A great surprise where you can find a new wine love. I think we may have popped into their old location on Atwood but their new location with their outdoor wine garden is a very nice. Having been here for a Yelp event I wanted to given it a try with my wife in tow. It happened to be the night of the Make Madison Music event and they had a very nice band under their pergola in the garden. Fortunately the rain had ended so we were able to enjoy the band with our wine. The wine store itself has a nice selection with reasonable prices. They were not doing flights this evening because of the Music event so I got a glass of wine. I wasn't ready to pay $12 for a glass so I got a 1/2 glass of a Douro Rive Portuguese wine for $6. It was good but a 1/2 glass is really a small pour. I guess if you are just selling wine you need to make your money somehow. My wife got a Poppi soda? and really enjoyed it. I think if you buy a bottle you can drink it on-site but there is a $10 corkage fee (need to double check that). That may be the way to go next time... read more

I love going to Madison to visit friends and on this trip we stumbled into Table Wine. This place is great! Bright, open and airy we found this to not only be a great joint to grab some wine but also a nice spot to pop a bottle open, relax and chill. We sat in the front area by the window and soaked up a ton of sun celebrating life and all things me birthday! The staff is super helpful and they have a selection of fine wines and bubbles to satisfy just about any budget. Love seeing small business go in and make a mark on the community. Table Wine is a place I always want to review but after leaving their establishment, I usually forget about that due to the AMAZING wine selections they have. You might suffer the same fate once you enter. I've been coming to Table Wine since 2018, they hooked me in with their selections of South African wines. However, it becomes a religion. You want to see what's the #1 Rosé, and if you're like me, you'll definitely taste test to make sure they're accurate in their ratings. And, they always are! They just moved down the road and it's an amazing spot, on a corner spot with beautiful lighting coming through. The staff is always willing to help and make sure you enjoy wine, as much as they do! They also let you carry in your own food so we filled up on snacks to go with the wine. Several large tables are available and some couch seating too. Steady stream of customers carrying out wine. Went here with a couple of girlfriends for a couple glasses of wine. My first time here and the layout and style was cute and quaint. I quite enjoyed the selection of wine as i had never tried many of them before so that was refreshing. They also offer a wine flight and that made the experience very nice. What a great find. Even tho I live on the far west side I will go there often. My first trip was to find a wine from Spain. Met Molly and she said the distributor was out but she would take my name and call me when it came in. Well, months went by and no call so I thought she just forgot about it. With all the great venues to taste and obtain wine in Madison, one would be hard pressed to think that another one would be needed, let alone thrive, yet Table Wine looks to be filling the bill on both counts! (You lucky east-siders!) Having taken over the space of a now defunct running store on Atwood Ave., Table Wine has an austere, yet functional, interior design that reflects the way they purvey their wares. No nonsense, straight-to-the point, and no cosmetic mark-up on the price. I mean really?! An excellent Tempranillo from Spain for less than $9?! With wines imported from all over the globe (and even Sauk City, WI), you're sure to find something that will tantalize your palate, impress your in-laws, or seal the deal on that date night. Honestly, I didn't remember seeing anything that was priced at more than $35, with the exception of the magnum bottles, of course. With a small yet comfortable tasting area, in a voluminous space, you will not feel pressured or uncomfortable, even if your wine knowledge is limited to 'red, white, and boxed'. Which speaking of, they have boxed wine too! (don't laugh! it's good and it will last longer than an opened bottle with a cork stuck in it!) The laid back atmosphere pretty much prevents any snooty noses (which is different than...well....you know) from being raised, no pretense here! Whatever level your wine palate and knowledge are at, you'll find Molly (the owner) and her staff will be able to speak your language and help you locate the precise bottle of wine your occasion calls for. Oh, and for your malt and hop types, they have a wide array of beers available in cans or bottles. Being a regular customer of some of the better known wine establishments in Madison, I'm very pleased to add Table Wine to my list of places to buy from. What an awesome addition to the East side! I heard about Table Wine from some friends and went in for a glass of wine. We were immediately greeted, grabbed a glass, and looked through the bottle selection. When made it so enjoyable was that I felt like I was enjoying a glass of wine in someone's home. We sat on a comfy couch, and enjoyed each other's company. This is a great place to connect with friends or just pop in to buy a few bottles for your home collection. The prices range from $9 a bottle and up. There was a global variety. They sell beer too! If you don't drink wine, don't shy away. You'll be able to grab beer or soda by the glass or six pack! I've been a loyal customer of Table Wine since it has opened and am on a first name basis with the staff and owners (not sure I should be bragging about this given that it's a wine store....). If you're looking for a yummy bottle of wine for a reasonable price then look no further that Table Wine. Molly (and friendly staff) are all very knowledgeable and have consistently made spot on recommendations based on my taste and past purchases. I have never been disappointed. It's a wonderful and cozy spot to share a glass of wine with a friend or host an intimate gathering with co-workers after a long week of work. Molly will kindly set aside a table if you ask in advance (and no store function is scheduled) and you can bring in snacks or food from outside. The space is light and open, with high ceilings and comfortable couches and tables. A bonus is that Table Wine not only sells wine, but beer and spirits, many of which are made locally. I love that Table Wine is in the neighborhood and am happy to see that it's become such a successful business on Atwood Avenue. read more

We met with her in person to discuss what types of wine we were interested in, and she was able to give us some great recommendations based on our preferences, the food we'd be serving, and her knowledge of what guests tend to prefer. She was patient and responsive throughout the next several months as we sent her multiple emails with questions and changed our minds on which wines to purchase several times. The order arrived on time and we were able to pick it up well in advance of our event, which was very helpful. They were also willing to help us purchase beer and liquor, although we ultimately decided not to - even then, she gave us recommendations on where to go to find the most affordable prices. A wonderful wine shop/bar with knowledgable and friendly staff. My husband and I feel very lucky to have it as our local wine store and to be able to pop over to pick up a bottle of wine for dinner at the last minute if need be. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but I was particularly happy to find wines from several small (and personally favorite) California and Oregon wineries that I never expected to see after moving to Wisconsin. They have a small selection of liquors and other carefully selected and interesting libations (Aviation Gin from Portland Oregon, and La Normande brandy/cider by Rhine Hall to name some of our favorite discoveries). The wine tastings and special events are always enjoyable, and you never feel intimidated as you might in certain wine-centric establishments. Highly recommended. read more
