Great customer service and large selection of beer and spirits. Open past the curfew! My new favorite place to get beer. Thank you!

I stopped in to Cork N' Bottle while visiting Madison on a weekend getaway and I will say I was…read moreinitially very impressed. They have a great stock and I believe the employee who was working the day I stopped in genuinely care about me as a customer and my business. I am looking a a specific, rare spirit. Cork N' Bottle's website boasts: "We were established in 1960, so if you're interested in it, we've probably seen it-- whether it's a rare bourbon, limited-edition run from an obscure brewery, or a small-production wine from a tiny appellation in the middle of nowhere. We're passionate about what we sell, and we're dedicated to curating an interesting rotating selection of delicious and sometimes hard-to-find beverages of all sorts. Want a special order? We're your store." So I decided to stop in and when I did, the employee I spoke to was very kind and gave me some tips about how I might find it and suggested that I call on Monday to speak to the employee who handles purchasing for this type of spirit. When I did, the employee I spoke to on the phone was incredibly condescending. It doesn't bother me that the store doesn't have the spirit in stock or the ability to specifically make sure I get a bottle. What bothers me is that the man I spoke to on the phone made me feel stupid for even asking if they may have some come in stock. I understand certain spirits are really hard to come by and it can be frustrating dealing with these type of requests if it's something that is in high demand, but it is exceptionally poor customer service to ridicule someone for asking a question when the website specifically boasts of the business' ability to help find rare bottles. All that being said, they do have a nice selection and the employee I dealt with in the store was delightful. I would consider going back for simple shopping as there didn't seem to be high mark up on things that tend to be harder to come by, but I would not ever ask for assistance from staff again.

Great selection and great eclectic music choices. Excellent…read moreservice!!! Next visit to Madison, this is my first stop

Our server, Mac, was great. Very welcoming and a pleasure to work with. The food here, however,…read moreleaves a bit to be desired. While we were very happy with our enormous half-pretzel and my partner said Prost made the best beer cheese sauce she'd ever tasted, our mains were kinda lackluster. My partner remarked that the Beyond Bratwurst merely tasted like breakfast sausage. The sauerbraten was just some plain pulled pork with a scant drizzle of sauerbraten gravy, nothing like the well-marinated real deal. The potato pancake wasn't really pancake-y, more like some glorified shredded hash browns. The red cabbage was kinda bland. The pickled veg that accompanied the sausage plate looked and tasted fresh and crisp, with a nice hint of warm spice present in the carrots. The space is a pleasing reuse of an old deconsecrated church, with the requisite beer hall-style dining benches. Sports play on the televisions in the main dining hall and above the bar. In summary, I guess you gotta know what Prost!'s strengths are. Their pretzel is epic, but most everything else seemed to fall short. If you're there just for the beer, you can't go wrong.
