Having played guitar for years I wanted someone to take me to the next level. John has far exceeded my request beyond my imagination. He meets you where you are and takes you as far as you want. I took the plunge to try them out and we just haven't turned back. This week my daughter will sing in her second performance with Orpheus- all conducted on zoom during COVID. I think we're going on two years, and have recently added in ukulele lessons. My daughter can sing so amazing esp considering where we started out. And she just keeps making progress. We see Mrs. Megan for voice lessons and wow! She is the real deal. Structured, a little scary bc she is so good & professional. Not sure why I haven't written a review yet, but today they signed me up for a parenting course on zoom that will help me be a better parent and help improve stella's practice time. I love that they are educating me as well as her. If you have a need def check them out, we recommend Megan and Trevor! Thanks Orpheus

Both are gifted musicians and talented teachers. Having two locations also makes it convenient for the summer camps that are offered and also if we need to reschedule and get a makeup lesson at the other location. There are also several recitals throughout the year so my son has really learned the performance aspect of being a musician. My son has ADHD and his teachers are able to engage him throughout the lesson. As someone who is experienced in both adolescent development and pedagogy, Orpheus is, in my opinion, the best music school in central Texas.

I am editing my review, because I just read the review from a "previous student." I have no idea what happened, but I know for a fact that she takes checks and sends invoices. She has since 2021 when we started. We've been through three recitals, and she has never forced my child to play a piece she does not want to play. However, every good teacher guides a student. Teaching is imparting knowledge of a subject. As for the IRS comment and bullying this person sounds like someone who gets mad and starts making false accusations out of their anger to hurt the other person instead of dealing in an adult manner with the issue.

Recitals are always a treat because I get to see how other students have mastered their skills, advancing over the years. I purchased a guitar from Guitar Center that had a minor crack on the neck (I was assured by their sales team that it was superficial)... after the first couple times playing it, the crack grew about 2 inches. I went to Jason to get his opinion on the best course of action for repair if necessary. He diagnosed the guitar in an expedient manor, and came to the conclusion that the repair wouldn't be worth it cost wise against the cost of the guitar, and recommended that I purchase a new one instead. I explained to him that it was under the "No Refunds" guidelines set forth at GC for specific items. He ended up calling me the next evening and had a game plan on how to get around their policy, and offered up suggestions for replacement that wouldn't break the bank. So not only did he have one of the most personable customer service experiences that I've ever had, on top of genuinely being a good dude... he also has my business for life on setup, adjustments, maintenance and more than likely lessons. Here's what I have to say about the experience I've had: I have David Price as my teacher, and I am utterly grateful for his instruction. He is fantastic--always involved in every step of the lesson, playing along with me, giving me directions as well as examples of what to do, and he's just a down-to-earth guy who's friendly and kind. The owner, Kath, is sweet as can be, and every single person I've met from that school has been helpful, friendly and polite. The school is clean; the environment is welcoming; the instruction from my teacher is second to none, and I've had four teachers, counting him.
